Myoro Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Not really. 6D's startup is longer than 2C recovery, so he could just DP, which is kinda risky if it hits the autoguard. Then his DP gets like 40 active frames. Granted its equally risky if he gets baited, this just turns it into paper rock scissors, which if he wins he gets 4-6k damage off it xD... I do tbis too much. Now I could be completely off base here, but the Wiki says Kagura's 2C has 33 recovery frames and that our 6D has 17 start-up frames. Now granted I'm no math genious, but isn't 17 less than 33, so shouldn't we be able to get a safe punish? EDIT: Tested it, we totally can. you owe me a soda Necro.
Poultrygeist Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 A lot of people reporting PSN fucking up on them for BB these past few days, may be wise to lay low until it gets fixed.
NecroTheReaper Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Hmm... oh well. And yep, fuck psn. It just mafe my entire ps3 crash. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER SONY.
Grimsley-San Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 A lot of people reporting PSN fucking up on them for BB these past few days, may be wise to lay low until it gets fixed. That explains why I keep getting signed off, (could be PSN or my connection)
BoltofShadow Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Asking someone to stick with a certain character (who happens to be their main) and they just say nothing and pretend you said nothing. I wanna learn how to fight bang, you won so stop switching characters XD
mAc Chaos Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 The connection kept croaking last night for me. Might be related to the weather...
mAceOfHearts Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I seriously hate the new shortcut for 632146 motions. How am I supposed to learn a new character when half my DP attempts turn into a waste of 50 meter and a 4K punish? (Jin)
StylisH Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Noob question: what do those colors in the squares mean? The brighter your rank is, the larger your e-peen is. Ironically, it also increases peoples ability to *ahem* "lose connection"
Ventus Tatshima Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 The brighter your rank is, the larger your e-peen is." Sigging the shit out of this

How am I supposed to learn a new character when half my DP attempts turn into a waste of 50 meter and a 4K punish? (Jin) I had this problem, but then I realized I was just doing sloppy dps with 6123. I do it as 6523 like I do for other games and it works fine.
heavymetalmixer Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Lag kills characters that depends on high mobility. Period.
Stellarcircle5 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Lag kills characters that depends on high mobility. Period. This all day. Playing Valkenhayn under a subpar connection is suffering. All those height/distance dependent confirms become a guessing game on whether or not you pick them up too late. Good thing there are so many Azraels and Terumis to remind me that at least some people enjoy themselves online.

All those height/distance dependent confirms become a guessing game on whether or not you pick them up too late. Good thing there are so many Azraels and Terumis to remind me that at least some people enjoy themselves online. Doing any sort of link with Azrael is impossible with a sub-par connection. 5B-2C? No way. I really don't see how lag is beneficial to Azrael, compared to, say, Ragna.
D.R.F. Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I play ragna and I cant play in deep water. Probably because I always try to do elaborate stuff and I miss a 6 and it ruins my setups lol
Errol Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 The 'high mobility' part of Rachel is not what makes Rachel suffering to play in lag. It's the tightness of the confirms. it's the combos that require you to visually react to something which isn't REAL in lag. High mobility part? no... I don't think azrael combos require you to visually react to stuff, just press buttons at the same timing which will work in lag or not. to the degree azraels actually try to confirm is something else.. chars with weak mixup benefit more from lag. chars with borderline seeable mixup benefit more from lag.. chars that like throws benefit more from lag... Ehhhhhhhhhhh
TeeJay Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I rather play Litchi any day than Tsubaki in input delay. Tsubaki vs. Kagura with some significant delay was not fun when you can't pressure. I guess lag and delay are different. I guess there is a lot of variables. Priority can be a big deal in lag I suppose. Hard confirms kill some characters. I couldn't imagine CT Taokaka online. I'd Ragna 5b all day.
mAc Chaos Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 chars with weak mixup benefit more from lag. is this serious, i cant tellwhatever characters with weak mixup would get is nothing compared to normally strong mixup that just becomes unblockable
Errol Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 is this serious, i cant tell whatever characters with weak mixup would get is nothing compared to normally strong mixup that just becomes unblockable so say I play rachel against tsubaki. You're not blocking my mixup on reaction offline or online. So it's obvious that I get no benefit out of the additional delay. and I personally believe that most "strong mixup" isn't going to have much difference in blocking between online and offline anyway (Litchi, Azrael, Jin 6a, etc). But there are characters where it clearly can make a difference. Like Relius or Tsubaki.
Airk Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Yeah. The difference between making a 26 frame overhead the equivalent of a 22 (4 frames of lag) is way more significant than the difference in taking a 20 frame overhead and making it a 16. P.S. F*&&** YOU, Arc Sys. Why is Tsubaki's overhead so goddamn slow?
Myoro Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 so say I play rachel against tsubaki. You're not blocking my mixup on reaction offline or online. But there are characters where it clearly can make a difference. Like Relius or Tsubaki. Lag is no friend to Relius players. Do you know what we have in the ways of defense? a frame 7 head invuln stub of an anti air and a command dodge that is grabbable on reaction. On the offensive lag can screw up our timing on our frametraps and pressure making them ever so DP-able, every single time. Also, as if our overhead wasn't obvious enough, lol. What's your example of it helping us? I mean sometimes it does have the benifit of making our frame traps more appetizing, because the lag will show you 50 frames where you can "escape" and really there was only supposed to be 3 or 4.
Errol Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Relius' overhead is pretty slow, and blockable offline. lag can make it hard to block. with tsubaki you can just mash harder, since there is always a huge gap between her normals and her overhead. but with relius if you can't block it on reaction things are a lot harder. Since you can't mash out of his pressure at all, you have to dp out, and his pressure can go very long without having a gap.... therefore lag can help relius' offense a lot..
