Seriously though I'll honestly dodge a Blue or green square player unless I recognize the name.

I really don't understand how the squares work. I get that they're supposed to be how well you do overall, but I just don't get how they do that. I went to ranked match once, didn't even fight cause there was no one to fight, and I went down a color. Had a win streak of about 20 wins one day, and I went back to being white, and I think now after a balanced diet of wins and losses I'm back to where I started

It's probably based on W/L ratio, hotter the color better the player "might" be. White just seem to seem to show up when it's processing your color since the up/downgrade in colors is sorta delayed.

Honestly it seems to be working pretty well for me. You usually can rely on the hotter colored players to put up a challenge. I just wish it wouldn't go down for winning against weaker players. That's just silly.

Also I agree with omni. lol I won't actually play players who have like a dark green square or lower. I'll play light green and up.

I think we confirmed it goes down for beating the same weaker players over and over and over again. Like some kind of anti-boosting system or something. I got reset to White once after winning. Could just be PSN being silly though. Who knows.

No rating system is infallible. But I think it's certainly better than nothing.

No that's the thing. Everyone is defaulted to light green. It doesn't reset to white, it just goes white when it can't process your color. The reason you've been stuck at light green since day one is because you don't play cabs. Light green is the very middle of the color spectrum that you can get.

Pink/Orange/Yellow/LightGreen/DarkGreen/Blue/Darkblue

Some people also see the orange as red, but yeah. That's the available colors and their order.

Player matches and cab play both contribute to your heat color. I'm one of the losers with a darker color square, so unfortunately it gets pretty hard to find a match when you factor in the ratings + my hours leading to more JP and fewer NA folks.

I've just given up on Arcade lobby and just play ranked against y0 JP players.

GG's to the people I have played. BBCP netcode is so sketchy that I have to honestly limit myself to only 3 and 4 bar connections. Really doesn't help that everyone in my proximity pretty much plays Jin...

I'm surprised we got 2 bars actually! Despite how frustrating Tao is to fight, I had fun learning about the match-up.
