Verimeloni Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Since it's Dustloop, we all know how it feels to pick up a fighting game, play it for 5 minutes and then just rage about it's controls, system, characters et cetera. I started playing fighting games seriously (= playing BB & GG) in 2010 but before that I had played many fighting games like DBZ Budokai series, Soul Calibur and Tekken. So back in '06 when I first played... ...I instantly knew to leave it and never play it again. Let's just say for me it had zero appeal (CONTROLS), even being a mild fan of the series (SUCK). Please comment and share your picks for the suckiest FG ever!
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 A lot of SNES era fighters come to mind.
AMB Bakery Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I actually had the displeasure of playing Kabuki Warriors on the original Xbox. I had only rented it though, so it's not as big a remorse as people who actually bought the game.
Luminos564 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Can you name a game you fully admit is horrible but at the same time you played and enjoyed the shit out of it? In my case, this was Evil Zone: I don't suppose any of you embryos remember this chaotic mess? There was only 2 buttons, an "attack" and a "block" so you could literally learn the entire roster in record time (read 5 minutes). Balance was nonexistent (Ihadurca being a particular pain in the ass when used against you). Dub was the sort of quality of an ear-violating reverberation without even an attempt at lip-synching. And I loved it. It's weird. It is a horrible fighting game through and through, yet I absolutely loved it enough to still remember it. I kinda wish I hadn't lost it while moving all those years ago...
Verimeloni Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Feel free to share your guilty pleasures as well. One I can think of is Castlevania Judgment, which I like acknowledging it's badness.
Circuitous Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 This piece of shit still haunts me. Bought it for $5 from a closing video rental store - it was either this, or Mega Man Soccer.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 But Megaman Soccer had certain degree of fun.
Elochai Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers tournament fighter on Sega Genesis .
SoWL Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Arm Joe is the game worth mentioning here, though it's hard for me to call it bad. It's just does not care about balance or logic, which results in me not having as much fun with it as my friends do.
Chainsaw Guitar Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Dragon Ball Z Taiketsu. I don't think any of us could forget the one game that taught us to avoid buying incensed games in the future. Also, while I haven't played it myself, this game is a truly hilarious sight to behold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sppquTzh2Uc I always watch it when feeling down. ehuangsan Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 World Masterpiece Battle. The reason why it doesn't look like we are blocking anything is that if you hold back on the stick, the game registers it as a BACKDASH which isn't invincible. You have to tap back on the stick to block. Nero's Angel super also randomly BSODs your computer.
Verimeloni Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Somebody made a Katori-fighter? Guess I still have much to learn...
Pichy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 MKV, Gowcaizer, Shaq-fu. Also Calamity Trigger.
Vulcan422 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 War Gods, SFxT, Continuum Shift 2, and Continuum Shift Extend.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Calamity Trigger and other BB games are far from being shit. Questionable balancing and all that, but their overall basis isn't flawed or completely made of PURE AND ABSOLUTE SHIT. Placing them next to Shaq Fu or, let's say, Clay Fighters is just... no.
Hecatom Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Obviously a lot of people will come here trying to be funny naming games like BBCS. News Flash, if you really believe that BBCS for example is shit you really have never played a game like Dong Dong Never Die. Not liking a game =/= Said game being shit. TAI-X Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 It doesn't get any worse than pirate Famicom fighters. Can you believe someone tried to port Tekken to the NES?
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 It doesn't get any worse than pirate Famicom fighters. Can you believe someone tried to port Tekken to the NES? I do believe that. Evilzone / Evertzvaju was... okay Not something to be taken seriously but it was lol
TekkamanArk Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Evil Zone was a lot of fun. My worst fighter though? Definitely Windy X Windham
Luminos564 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 FUCK YOU! No seriously Fuck You, Eretzvaju is a legit game. Whoa, rein your anger good sir. I never said I didn't LIKE the game. It is fun for all its faults (matter of fact, the faults are part of the charm) but as a fighter in comparison to today's standard and those I've played since? Yeah, it's the "worst" fighter I got to play, though arguably was the 1 fighter that I was good at and had 100% fun with.
TAI-X Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) My worst fighter though? Definitely Windy X Windham Yeah, I'm still amazed that someone bothered to localize that in the US. A real dog of the DS library, and it's the most shameless ripoff of Guilty Gear I've seen. Who the hell are Windy and Windam supposed to be, anyway? Evil Zone is okay. The localization was definitely something fresh for non-importing US players at the time, and it's at least better than the dire Toshinden series. I prefer Destrega for casual button-mashing 3D fighter action on the PS1. Edited November 27, 2013 by TAI-X
HoudiniJr100 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Yup. a good thing I read them then. as for MY worst fighter(s)? I admit as much as I liked SFxT it sucks in terms of how capcom handled it's release and for others? I'd say my two inuyasha fighting games (feudal fairy tale for PS1 and feudal combat for PS2). but I do admit, as an inuyasha fan I got them because I was said fan, and it was kinda fun playing an interesting PS1 fighter, and a power-stone like game XD but yeah in today's standard there is better, but I still like them as an inuyasha fan :P
Keo-bas Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 most people already mention some of the worst ones. I think digimon rumble arena 2 is really piss poor. Bad smash rip off, that failed in basic design. The worst offense is no mirror match. I hear that few games still practice this like kamen rider fighters.
