LuminAbyss Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Btw, how hard would it be to block/punish meaty crossup BS on wakeup? They'd have to guess as far as I can see, since it looks kinda ambiguous. It's safe if they block it or if they don't switch sides correctly. I wouldn't be surprised if it could cross up DP inputs.
-Seo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 So you all preffer a weaker Ragna for the sake of not being called a braindead player? I can relate to that feel! I'd rather have a decent Ragna and still be called a braindead player.
Fistmaster049 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Double edged sword really, while I would like the hate messages to stop I'd still like my main to be at least decent And I dunno, the damage nerf and our mixup game is still being ass hits us hard but he is still very workable........I hope
Spirit Juice Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Yeah man EX Ragna was so strong and braindead that he won all the tournaments in Japan and the US! ...
LuminAbyss Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Didn't we come to the conclusion back in CS2 that people would always call Ragna braindead...? BACK TO DISCUSSION. I haven't seen any videos using TK Blood Scythe in pressure or anything. It looks like it recovers almost as fast as ground blood scythe though. I think it might be good for pressure.
Skye Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I'm late to this, but I had more success using CS as a reversal before it gained projectile invulnerability.
YukiBlue Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Yeah man EX Ragna was so strong and braindead that he won all the tournaments in Japan and the US! ...It's just Netplay salt. Having the most popular character in the game as arguably the strongest got really "Annoying" for most people, Me included. He didn't win tournaments because everyone that goes to a BB Tournament will know the Ragna matchup more than their own mother. He just got too much damage from everything, that's all. Make him CS2 again. That shit was perfect.
WolfCrimson Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) To those saying Ragna is weak: I dunno about that, according to Fluck, Souji in NEC said he was still strong. Most japanese Ragna players in vids seem to be mostly weak players (people we never heard of before, so we have no idea how good they are as player, and to me they seem to be doing inefficient combos and shit), and the notable ones I've seen like HARA, potofu, Naru and Kaqn seem to be doing well so far. We need to see the likes of Sakomoto Ryouma playing Ragna to see his true potential as a character. Edit: Does 5D(1) > DS not work anymore, at least in the corner? Also, does it work midscreen? In the corner, I hardly see players go for it, instead they always do 3C > 22C> DS. Edited December 18, 2012 by WolfCrimson

It looks stupid fast as well actually. My only conern with it, is how close it seems to leave you to the opponent, compared to the ground version.
WolfCrimson Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 YOOO WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!?!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkpxDGU32dA&feature=player_detailpage#t=178s GH> Keri Age is safe on blooockkk???!!!
Cheefoo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 YOOO WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!?!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkpxDGU32dA&feature=player_detailpage#t=178s GH> Keri Age is safe on blooockkk???!!! I hope it's true, but it actually seems like Tsubaki was just too slow with her dash 5A. As for TK bloodscythe during pressure... you have to realize Ragna has almost no jump cancelable normals on block. They got rid of 6A's JC on block, right? That might mean he actually has NO on-block jump cancels.
WolfCrimson Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) 3C? 6C? 6D? Edited December 18, 2012 by WolfCrimson

WolfCrimson Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I don't even know what I'm being Tommy Lee Jones's stared for.
Cheefoo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Did 6C get any new gatlings? Or is it still only jump/dash cancel on block? I don't even know what I'm being Tommy Lee Jones's stared for. Cuz you think Kaqn is "good".
LuminAbyss Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Did 6C get any new gatlings? Or is it still only jump/dash cancel on block? 6C could always got into 6D
WolfCrimson Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) Cuz you think Kaqn is "good". He's decent, not excellent. Edited December 18, 2012 by WolfCrimson

We need to see the likes of Sakomoto Ryouma playing Ragna to see his true potential as a character. They're all good players, however it's not some Ragna Messiah who's going to suddenly show the world his hidden potential. Before that, expect lots of "Funny things I Do With Ragna" being discovered but ultimately unused. Btw, Hell's Fang atk level nerf will hurt alot (if not exclude) gimmicky things on hit/block.
LuminAbyss Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Is anyone else going to anti-air people with D Divider or is this just me.
Sadeyo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Is anyone else going to anti-air people with D Divider or is this just me. That's probably just you since it's well known for trading with most jump ins. Probably the only Ragna I do keep up with in CP would happen to be Potofu (sp?). From my speculation 6C still happens to work the same without dash cancellable option on block or launching.
KayEff Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 I don't even know what I'm being Tommy Lee Jones's stared for. HARA has good combos but is ass in everything else, potofu's pretty much the same thing, naru just sucks balls, and kaqn's the best ever (our lord and savior etc.)
LuminAbyss Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Naru wins enough to be good enough. Kaqn's been doing really well too.
KayEff Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 i wouldn't really consider matches against bad people evidence for skill
Sadeyo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I wouldn't have anything against Naru if he considered changing mains. He has a difficult time breaking mediocre with how he actually plays. With time I believe potofu can show some fun tricks but sadly kaqn ends up being the exception in combat, good offense and good defense but nothing excelling. It's moments like this I wouldn't mind watching Sakamoto in action going up against Chen or Yoshiki.
