lol i have no idea what they were thinking

"you know whats too strong. DEVOURED BY DARKNESS"

I don't remember 150% meter BK combos in EX that were practical..

They are...but you have still some months to enjoy those combo lol.

I wouldn't have minded if like, they made it a high-risk or combo-only DD that did very low but damage, but stole a ton of health (like heals ragna for 2k or something)

But this is just....

Let me make sure I understand this; so vanilla Devoured by Darkness:

Does the least amount of unprorated damage in the game out of all of the DD.

And is blockable.

........Does arc hate Ragna or something?

Maybe it's unblockeable during OD.

I was thinking about that possiblity myself actually, I heard its hitbox is a bit smaller now too though

DBD has no reason for doing dumb damage in CP since ragna no longer losses HP before using it. Think about it, in every version of the game DBD could only be done in BK. So ragna would generally lose Hp due to BK (But not really) and then would regain more Hp then when he started.. Which in a way is kinda redundant since the hp loss was suppose to rationalize his high damage. As far as i saw there were no downsides to going BK so long as u knew proper SKD combos ud always be able to finish with DBD. So the move either had to do less Hp or give rags less health... and since no one likes to see ragna break 5k with just 50heat they made it do shit damage but still regain alot of Hp back.

Which is completely logical now that he has access to the DD at all times... If it did both the damage and regained as much health well no offence to anyone here but that would be fraudulence to a whole new level.

I think someone said here before that you regain around 500-800 health with the non OD version of Devoured by Darkness and honestly thats barely any health gain at all.

500-800 health is alright. Like I've said before DbD= health gain, while CS is damage.

If you look at D normals (except for 2D, but that cannot be followed up without rapid cancel), you see that they have shit p2's, which leads me to believe that the more you opt for life gain in a combo, the less damage you'll do, and vice versa. And the idea is the same with DbD and CS.

Yes i would have to agree.. not only that Blood scythe also looks to gain around 300hp.. And i swear it regains like 1k hp which is very decent since no other character in the game can increase there Hp once its gone.

Also where did u find the frame data for ragna ???

lol, are we really caring for life gain now?

You could if you want to, I'm guessing Arc wanted to make Ragna's playstyle more... varied?

We'd have to get the values for life gained from every move as well as any modifiers if available, before we can judge this change in direction in Ragna's design.

When you put it that way it makes a lot more sense. I mean, I forgot that Ragna can even do it OUTSIDE of Blood Kain which I didn't even think of. If it's outside BK then yeah, makes no sense for it to even be there really. But what about during Blood Kain. Might be stronger then.

Or wait, do you mean it's still BK only but you don't lose life during BK.

I want him to end up being as bad as CS1 Tsubaki.

Then maybe a Konan-like player shall appear.

I'm randomly posting in here to say Konan didn't play Tsu until CS2... when she was good lol.
