BloodWolF Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Eh they need to change the properties of supra for this to be of any use lol, the move as is isn't anything special except for the soft knockdown in Luna forma. This move is a great tool for Oki and combo extending in Luna. I think it's quite useful as is.
Tokkan Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 No Tager changes? All we have is movelist changes for now. Actual balance changes won't be known until the loketest starts in a couple of days.
Angry Guy of DE Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Kagura's Dragon Ascent has a B version now... That's the [2]8 C move right? Going by most types of reversal moves, the B version might be faster but has less range or invul on it? All I want is his run speed to not have that horrible start-up acceleration that most others don't have.
Hecatom Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 All we have is movelist changes for now. Actual balance changes won't be known until the loketest starts in a couple of days. I see, thanks. I guess that this means that at least for now (and probably never) he will not have any new moves :/
LeDom Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Makoto has a new imput for her parry eh? Guess you could call a simpler execution a buff. And Bullet can cancel Michelet Capture? I gotta start thinking about how useful it could be in neutral and pressure. As for Lambchops, a bit disappointing that there really isn't that much to differenciate her from Nu (aside from getting her second mode moves) but I should have expected as much.
SoWL Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 So, uh, what stops Arakune from mashing OD at the start of the round and applying mad pressure right away? Just its short duration? Still pretty scary, I think.
No Limitz Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 This move is a great tool for Oki and combo extending in Luna. I think it's quite useful as is. Yea exactly, it's pretty much a combo only tool. Its use in neutral or its intended use as an anti air is pretty situational. I'm also posting under the assumption they're using the Dia supra as the base version of the move so we'll have to see if they combined the properties of both Luna and Die supra since Lambda didn't get Supra.

Input changes can make a huge difference. To this day when I launch CT and try to do Hotaru, which is j.214B, I'll get Renka sometimes (214B). But ever since they changed Renka to 236B that never happened again and I was able to do both without having a moment of doubt whether I was about to walk into a 720 by messing it up.
Luminos564 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 So, uh, what stops Arakune from mashing OD at the start of the round and applying mad pressure right away? Just its short duration? Still pretty scary, I think. Very. Open with OD and have the uninterrupted 3 seconds of Curse. It would be even scarier if after OD runs out, the Curse bar still remains intact to drain away for a duration. Arakune really is like Castlevania's Dracula. You can beat him down as much as you like but he always rises back up to give you multiple headaches...and bees. Lots and lots of BEES!
Narroo Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I like Makoto's Parry change. Before the input was a bit awkward and finicky. Now we got a nice input that ends in blocking!
SixWingedAngel Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 If I'm not mistaken Trans-am still costs meter despite the change. I hope it's worth it
SoWL Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I'm not sure why, but Valkenhayn's aerial super is marked as new, even though it doesn't seem to have any new traits or inputs. Maybe because it doesn't specify the form you have to be in to use it? Could you always use it in any form?
CurseSword Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Really, Lambda seems like a clone. Mori maybe do this for the fans of that character. And that new inputs... Some are easier ones, but others are weird. And about Arakune OD, well, as a beginner of that character I'm happy, lol.
Angel-tastic Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Yeah, I'm also a bit sad about how similar Lambda is to Nu. It seems like they'll play quite differently, so I'm not even worried about that. It's just that design-wise, Lambda is literally a palette swap of Nu, and even just uses Nu's old theme song. Then again, Luigi started out as a palette swap of Mario, so Lambda might be distinguished more as time goes on. They did a good job with Minerva even though she was originally a palette swap of Nirvana, so maybe Lambda will get the same treatment too at some point. Also, wow, Arakune doesn't even have to hit you now to Curse you. I can't wait to get insta-Cursed at the start of the round vs. Arakune.
FKGunBlaze Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Am I the only person who is actually hype for Lambda being a clone?
CosmicShadow99 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Am I the only person who is actually hype for Lambda being a clone? Probably, if I wanted to play a different color Nu-13 I would just...palette-swap. Not make a palette-swap with slight changes and charge money for it trying to call it a new character.
BloodWolF Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Street Fighter CP 2.0. ..but on a serious not. I'm reserving judgement on Lambda until the loketest this weekend. I really like what I see in the new Nu..and I was one of the few that really enjoyed the stance switch mechanic in CP..so I look forward to it.

Not make a palette-swap with slight changes and charge money for it trying to call it a new character. Slight changes that might end up making her a different beast. Plus, Lambda represents the Copycat, the one style BB doesn't have.
Myoro Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Cool. No. The word you are looking for is "horrifying." It's an understandable mistake.
Narroo Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 No. The word you are looking for is "horrifying." It's an understandable mistake. Parries for everyone!
destruction_adv Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Slight changes that might end up making her a different beast. Plus, Lambda represents the Copycat, the one style BB doesn't have. I myself don't really consider the copycat a character type...it's really just another character of the type that the person their copying is. EDIT: Just remembered youtube works on my computer again. After watching the Celica I think I might change my main from Mu to her since that's some moe moe shit right there,
AchedSphinx Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I kind of understand what Nu's gameplan is. She will focus a lot more on teleports and try to get her opponent under gravity. If they're in gravity, she can teleport to them and high/low/cross up. Otherwise zone and junk. Her gravity is a bit better now since it can have a 100% uptime (provided she doesn't get hit). Not sure how Supra fits into this, but I believe someone said it'll be a knockdown into gravity. I'm not sure what Lambda's gameplan is. The basics is probably just get them in 236D oki and force them toward the corner. She does have some gimmicks with 236A > 22D. I guess if I want to use a comparison, it would be like Mitsuru doing a backstep on an opponent's wake-up to bait a throw or DP. She might have stronger damage than Nu, which means Lambda might be more rushdown-oriented (since she can now do 5C > 5D). Anyways, it's mostly just speculation until some loketest stuff comes about. So the characters are sorta copycats/clones. But, they're not like Super Smash Bros. clones like with Mario and Dr. Mario. There's a decent amount of difference between Nu and Lambda. Though, I was expecting Lambda's playstyle to be more in your face, less D spam.
