Drills and teleports are good. I gotta say I fucking love her CH properties, too.

I've been playing with Command Grab+Teleport gimmicks. Why have I turned such a straight forward character into a gimmicky/rushdown character?

I just wish she had better oki. I love the character, but her oki seems pretty basic.

I also want this woman to have better projectiles.

Also, I don't have frame data, so I guess this is a question for Tenryo: Does her 214K's have invuln at start-up? I've gotten out of some shit using them, using their projectile reflecting property makes shit a lot easier on me since my brother likes to use Celia, but there have been times where I've maybe gotten away from a 2A or something and blown em away.

Another thing: How the hell do I 6A(1) > 236C

Due to the crazy input buffer in this game, I get Deadly Spark unless I do 6A(2) > 236C

She seems too strait foward for my tast. If it was'nt for top tier shennanigans would'nt she be top?

What's your taste? Someone like Hermes?

not tenryo but I think it does have invul on start-up cuz well 4 of 5 times i used it as a DP :v:

I think her EX 214P has invul on start-up too

could be used as anti-air in some situations

Not sure how the input buffer works in this game but in Aquapazza, I do a half-circle back then forward. So basically, 6A 32141236C. That assumes the input buffer works by collecting a certain number of inputs though, rather than holding all inputs for a certain amount of time.

I will certainly try this this weekend when I have the time to play.

I've been iffy about using it as a DP. I've actually been using it as a not-so-good anti-air.

that's another thing I want for her, and Anti-air. Though, f.5C does the job when it has to.

I haven't used Ex 214P as an anti-air because I have meterless options, sorta. I used it for corner carrying in combos.

I just love that HA HA HA HA HA! when she does it. Sometimes I waste the bar just to hear it. I'm serious.

Another Celia II here. Although once I actually pick the game up myself I might start finding someone to sub since it seems everyone I play with hates Celia II.

Speaking of which - an odd question to ask from my perspective, but how can someone deal with all of Celia II's defensive/reversal options? From what we've seen, she has the following:

  • Roll and backstep (universal, of course)
  • Shield (at least seems to be invuln on frame one, negative enough to be punishable if they're close but not if they're far. Also has a pretty huge hitbox)
  • EX scythe (seems stupidly good for no reason - why is this a reversal? Only problem is I've seen it whiff if the opponent is really close)
  • Lvl 3 fuckoff sword (... is apparently a reversal? I mean, it is a level 3 and it can be rolled on reaction, but still ... Also it seems to whiff vs air, but there's no time to jump)
  • Teleport (... has almost no recovery if going forward, it seems, apparently is invuln from frame 1)
  • DP super (probably the most reasonable ... good hitbox but really unsafe)

I feel like the people I play with (if you're here, hi Katz and Tales :v:) are starting to get legitimately frustrated by this. Any ideas to help even things out? Or should I just start learning Cait&Sith like I was planning way back when 1.0 was in arcades?

....I don't want to give people tips on how to beat all my tools xD

But, I'll help you out, I guess.

First off, you can be grabbed outta roll/dodge if they react to it by actually bait the roll.

Two, you're not really able to do much about her shield. Considering how I've been using it, it's to say FUCK OFF ZONING or using it as a big ass anti-air or DP in some cases. Once whiffed at close-ranged, Celia will fucking die. Best I can say is there's no point in zoning Celia when she can just throw your shit right back at you even if she delays the shield because even if it doesn't reflect, it negates the projectiles.

EX Scythe is just good. They'll get over it eventually.

I thought I was the only person who used her unblockable Lvl3 as an actual tool. I used that shit to kill whenever I can. It's not like I won't get the meter back anyway. 50% for 3 bars is worth it in my opinion. It's easier than an Exceed combo that you can drop, so I don't do exceed combos just for that reason.

Teleport is vulnerable at the end. As I wrote on the wiki, there is SOME recovery. The example I used is that if you're mashing 5A during the teleport, and your opponent is doing the same in the spot you're going to appear, you won't trade, you will get hit.

Her DP super is pretty good, nice damage and everything.

Her run is godlike, CH properties that cause spin and groundbounce. Her damage/corner carry usually needs meter, though. Thus, I guess you can -attempt- to capitalize on that if you're fighting her. Personally, when I lose lately, it's because I'm fighting my little brother whose using Cerberus. Her health is poor and on whiff some of her normals can be punished on reaction.

On a personal note, I don't really use her reversal super. I run teleport+command grab lately. Shit gets gimmicky when you combine the input buffer (I.E- Blockstring, close blocked 2A(2)/2B input command grab right after second hit, but not cancel) and universal unblockables. Works good when you rushdown safely and defend yourself properly, too. But, you need respect for that kinda stuff. Ticking the command grab differs midscreen as well.

I love this damn character. While she is lacking some things, she makes of for it with her tools

Speaking of this, I think I'll make a mass update of the wiki now... I have a few hours to write..

I will certainly try this this weekend when I have the time to play.

Testing this now... it doesn't seem to work well by itself. The only way I can get it to reliably cancel into the double tomahawk after only one hit of the drill is to mash out A>B>C>6A as quickly as I can and then wait and input the 236C normally after the first drill hit. It's not too hard, execution-wise, but I don't see a way to confirm into it.

Well, what I've been doing is Stuff > 2B > (d)f5C > 236C > 2B > 5C > 6A(3) > Bomb Vomit > The Rest

Considering I'm having trouble doing 6A(1) > 236C, this works just as well and it's much more consistent than repeatedly trying to get that down.

I'll get into the lab and figure something out in a bit

Less legitimately frustrated at the character and more frustrated at myself for not finding ways around it, Cheese. Also, just general Nuclear Cheese frustration.

Yeah, I saw that combo for the first time today. It was insane and I highly approved.

Also Celia II's teleport really annoys me. I have a hard time keeping up and actually hitting her, I'm bad enough to where I'll just face desk if someone keeps spamming it. As a Kagari player I'm envious of it. At least the ending is vulnerable, so I could delay and react accordingly.

Also I should point out that I created a CC group for Skype. Not sure how long it will last but Skype is convenient, so why not. Anyone who wants in, just message me on it or whatever. We can talk about CC stuff from gameplay or just general fan stuff. Though any gameplay stuff I'd rather be in here as well, since I know some of you do not use Skype. We'll figure it out. I still wanna keep the thread alive, and Skype kinda kills threads, so keep posting! Though it could just be used to chat with like minded players, for off topic stuff, at the very least.

You want to go wherever she is going to be. She -cannot- mash or trade you if you're already pressing buttons at that spot.

Also, Celia without teleport isn't Celia. Plus, that match-up is a tug-of-war anyway. I don't really abuse my teleport since she has a lot of options to get around a lot of shit.

Personally, my favorite person to fight is Cythlla, because I can turn her floating ball things into Celia's own floating mines xD Damn, that's fun.

Though, the best thing to do in that situation is to do Cythlla's ring that extends and then goes active.

Because this baits a lot of actions from Celia.

If she tries to dodge, she'll just come towards you and you can punish it.

If she teleports forwards, you can punish it depending on how close you are to the corner.

If she teleports back, Cythlla has a Mizuchi Renkazan type super that catches her if timed right.

If she shields at the wrong time, she'll get hit.

If she jumps then depending on where your traitorous mines are floating, you can go for a AUB she can't do anything about since she'll be in blockstun from the active ring.

If she double jumps, just pay attention to what she's doing and see if you can anti-air her.

If she sits there and blocks, at least it shuts her down for a moment.

Why am I giving Cythlla tips.. I started rambling.

As for Kagari, you should watch this

Cheapest card I got was 21 dollars and some change.

Yeah the Celia II matchup does feel like tug o war. Wouldn't hurt to stop being stupid and throwing out too much. I should watch more Manji and Fate. Their sets are entertaining.

I spent 30 on mine.

Where the hell did you find a 21 dollar card?

I think it was sondox.com. I'm not sure on how legit it is, but it got me the card for cheap and I've had no problems. $21.60 was what I payed.

Updated the Celia wiki.

I have to go over the combo section and add things, but I think I've done enough for the night at the least.

Really? Wondering if this game is worth getting, 30 is too much... 21 still sounds like a lot of money to pay for this though. Was wondering if there was a planned US release... Hm...

I can't remember the source but I vaguely recall that it was confirmed to have a US release...

Oh, they said they "plan"... That doesn't guarantee much... ahh but w/e I'll just wait haha. I hate having an excess amount of accounts on my PS3 just for one game, I am OCD like that.
