  1. well, I play Jin and sub Ragna with Jin I know a lot of tricks and where to do the correct option with Ragna... I can do a couple combos but overall I don't know the character's abilities and options well enough to be very good. with everyone else.... so overall learning more than one character is not bad, but prepare to be spread thin skill wise. I recomend 2 characters for people of low to mid skill level, and always devote your skill to 1 character, that's your main. Otherwise you aren't focused on a playstyle, and your game suffers. if you're above average to great, then yes learn more characters. in short, play only the # of characters you can handle.
  2. is it that the 632146C won't hit the full number of hits?
  3. wow nice pressure, the distortion at the end of the first round probably wasn't the best, but otherwise I learned shit from that, I didn't know you could 5c>air combo, after sekkajin, it makes sense though. But I got no advice, your fundamentals seem to be very good.
  4. pretty good... better than me by far... so: -work on getting out of pressure -once or twice I saw whiffed throw and DP -maybe hit confirm a bit, saw only a few moments where you could've done more damage if hit confirmed. but still that was pretty good and the last combo in the video is cool to watch
  5. I think the ps3 tags look cool, but are hard to read. But still awesome new skin all the colors match well and present great contrast (black and blue= awesomeness).
  6. sadly I know this:vbang: the better option might be just going for a reset. corner throw might work as a back throw out of the corner into ice arrows... but from foward just reset, possibly try to get oki after the reset... maybe (I'm hesitant to say because I don't know if this works) try: combo into sekkajin>6C>6D>the rest... not sure at all if it works, I think the 6D might whiff, sekkajin might kick back to much... but the safer option is to just reset and pressure. If I sound like a dumbass right now sorry, not very good at this.
  7. if you're not in in the right spot for the corner combo (623B>6C>blah) I usually 236D>air combo... not sure if it's the best do to 236D's dickish proration... but it kinda looks cool...
  8. except Kaqn's Ragna, then it's 50-50
  9. this is called "refuge in audacity" meaning you do something so bold/stupid no one is expecting it, it works once (maybe twice on scrubs). Don't rely on it... ever.
  10. it's from a bit before it got super stupid.
  11. yanked from CS discussion
  12. the angled ones (236A/B) can be jumped after, and the straight one (236C) you can jump or airdash, so basically they have enough recovery that you can perform a second air movement. 236D you can't... I assume you're talking about the ice swords, if it's the ice cars... you better hit the opponent or you're screwed, recovery til landing unless RC'd
  13. actually alot of characters have some damage options at max range, Jin has ice sword gimmicks and 2D (possibly), carl has his puppet, Hakumen has his reach, Lambda.... well yeah, Arakune... yeah, Rachael has lobelia stuff, even Tager has magnetism, Tao has projectiles (lol) and is really fast, Hazama essentially is this, and those that don't generally don't need to. Ragna needs 50 heat to safely cover down the half the screen offensively, and his life steal is a basically a side affect, no one really considers it in a combo, unless it's blood kain in which case he's probably going to get and equal return as he lost during blood kain.
  14. it doesn't have to start with 6C, just has to have 6C, the common way to do it is [something]>623B>6C>loop. Though I agree that his damage should stay as is, because it's situational, in that it has to be corner with heat, (and that it might be character specific)
  15. that's about all I can think of, I'm pretty sure you could do that for all those... but there are probably better options.
  16. nice video couple mistakes but still you get the idea... only problem.... the Ragna combos were much sexier
  17. sorry for the hyperbole:vbang: but to simplify Ragna's greatest advantage is his damage and over all offensensive game. Just play it safe. that's all I can think of.
  18. shit sorry, was barely paying attention. I'll get rid of them in a second. but what I meant is that Belial edge as a combo ender has more advantages than Ice car. not really something to consider. but I also meant that you can beat out the follow up, it doesn't have to happen.
  19. well people forget that there's a difference between 5.5-4.5 and 9-1. people just see advantage and disadvantage, I generally consider 5.5-4.5 fairly even. Also once again the player skill is far, far more often than not the deciding factor.
  20. the problem I get with Tao is the whole cross up thing she does, I try DP all of the sudden I have to switch direction, sometimes Ice car comes out making me feel stupid.
  21. ^FUCK THE CRAWL yeah but mess up once and he eats your a large fraction of your life and regains alot of his and god forbid you try to to hit him and you eat IF's from devoured by darkness. but I digress. I'm terrible at defense. but I don't think I've seen JB in the air combo that much, was it dropped for the JC's? though it could be there and I haven't noticed
  22. you mean you fought arcade Ragna (he's unl right?) ? that 25000 health moster who can chew out your life faster than you can blink? or is he different than UNL Ragna as not to make the player slit his wrists
  23. were you in the animation or were you about to enter? (was the enemy frozen or had the mist not hit them) part of what makes astrals awesome but impractical is they have no IF's (I don't think) so you can't try, say, black onslaught to counter an attack, Jin's vunerable in his astral just like everyone else. that's why you throw into it.
  24. make sure that 5B gets 2 hits in, otherwise the distance and spacing may be off, . the second combo don't do JB>JC>JB because JD usually doesn't combo just drop the second JB. But the first combo takes time to practice but you eventually get the hang of it. and yeah, the PSP makes it hard to do the 1,3,7,9 movements. also another easy combo to do is 5C>2C>3C>214B/C/D it's very simple and has good setup if you drop the 214b/c/d and do 236C.
