  1. Crowdfunding sounds neat on paper, but from what I understand, there are indeed certain factors that make it unsuitable for many companies. I obviously can't speak for Examu, but if they don't feel that it would be a good idea for a console port, they're probably not gonna consider it for a new game altogether.
  2. Circus Bear isn't really that threatening without a setup, though. Especially since many, if not all, characters in that game have moves that suspend them in the air, it's actually very easy to dodge.
  3. That would be just because everyone else here is delusional about the balance in any given ASW game. They really didn't. Going back to Labrys for a bit as an example, she got some good changes and benefits from some of the new mechanics, but her frame data is worse and many of her issues were either addressed poorly or not given any attention at all. Take into account that the top characters got buffed, and you can see why the people who play her feel that she's actually worse off than before.
  4. The balance is probably overall worse than the previous game, where it was already pretty bad. Some of the weak characters got better, but so did the strong ones, and arguably to a greater extent. Hell, two of the top Labrys players (Labrys being easily one of the weakest characters in either game), including the one who was apparently considered the best with her, simply stopped playing because they felt that she just can't reliably fight certain characters at a competitive level.
  5. He saw it played at an event it was being demonstrated at (TGS, maybe?). I'm not sure if it's still up, but there was a video of people playing it, and you could hear his surprise at the end when he was told he was seeing the PS3 version.
  6. Dunno about low B, but he was considered mid for a time. I forget when exactly people started realizing how good he actually was, but yeah, I think he ended up at the top of A tier, or at least close to.
  7. Not really. You do see less homogeny in tournament play, but not that much and especially not in results. BB has never been particularly better in that regard. I said nothing about any of those characters. I was talking about the game's balance in general. It's true that those characters got improved, but considering the precedent from previous games, it's best to only be cautiously optimistic for now. It honestly wouldn't be surprising if it turned out these changes don't actually help as much against the strongest characters.
  8. Reminder that this is a strawman argument. No one is asking for perfect balance, people are just upset that BB almost always has characters that are weak at almost every level of play, or are even worthless at a competitive level.

SE and Nintendo are both much bigger companies (last I checked, ASW has about 100 total) who have not only the resources to justify simultaneous releases on a regular basis, but overseas name recognition as well. That is not a good comparison at all. You're honestly just coming across as an entitled whiner.

  12. I used to, but I'm getting it more consistently. It's just execution, so practice doing 236 without any extraneous directions, and it shouldn't take you that long.
  13. From what I could tell with my limited playtime, you have to hold it straight down. j.1/3B will just get you j.B.
  14. Honestly, that's a really narrow-minded way of looking at things. There are people who don't mesh well with various playstyles, or just find other characters not fun to play as. To say someone isn't a "real fan" because they're not willing to force themselves to play a game when they're not gonna have fun doing so is pretty asshole-ish of you.

  19. Looking at Aksys' twitter feed, it sounds like it's they're fault, not ASW's. They're saying they released a patch for the NA version that the JP version doesn't have, which is why the two are currently incompatible.

  25. It was confirmed relatively early on that BS cannot be used while in blockstun. Ishiwatari has mentioned before that the way they go about making the models and animations is time-consuming, and their budget isn't that big. As far as I know, there also still hasn't been any word on whether or not they've hired more people to work on them, so we currently don't even know for sure how many people they have working on the characters. It's entirely possible that they have some concept work for more characters, and may indeed finish one to release as DLC by the time the game is released, but keep in mind that the people who animate the models are obviously also the ones working on the animations for story scenes, and animating 3D models isn't exactly a short process to begin with, so I can't imagine that they've had much time to work on new playable characters aside from Sin and Elphelt.
