[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
redsilversnake replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Jam's the one with pantyshots. Dunno if it's still the case in Xrd, but in X and XX, Millia seemed to actually be wearing something like a leotard under her clothes, like she did with her original outfit. Depending on the sensitivity, the aiming itself might not be too bad. Despite Pachi's comparison, it's not that similar to most shooters, so unless there is a good enough similarity with a character in another fighting game, you might just have to wait to see how it is. -

It's a placeholder. Apparently, retailers need a release date to take pre-orders, so publishers will give them either the date they're aiming for or a more generic one, like 12/31. -

Metal Slug, the one true authority on firearms Looking it over again, you're right, it says, "You can throw it in multiple trajectories, and if you hold the button after pulling the pin, you can also control the time it explodes!" It doesn't go into further detail, though, and the screenshots just show the move itself, so we'll most likely have to wait until footage shows up to know. Anyway, gonna fix the post. -

Brief summary of the Famitsu article. Not 100% sure on the bolded part, though. To use the rifle, you input a certain command and she'll assume a stance. During this stance, she cannot move, the lever instead being used to aim the reticle that comes up. She can aim at various distances to put pressure on her opponent from afar. To use the shotgun, input a different command, and she'll assume a stance that alters her movement. She becomes very deadly at close range (even though shotguns actually have relatively good effective ranges, so even though hers is pretty short, I'm pretty sure it'd still have better reach than portrayed in the game; do some damn research, Ishiwatari) and gains a forward somersault to keep herself close to her opponent. After shooting either weapon, she can maintain her firing stance by inputting a special motion to reload. If you fire too soon after assuming a stance, it will be harder to hit the opponent and the attack will be weak. If you wait, however, the reticle will become larger, the attack will do more damage, and the knockdown effect will be greater. Pachi says that she's simple and has enough of a variety of moves that should help her be playable in a more basic style (don't let your guard down, though, remember that Mori said something similar about Izayoi in BlazBlue, who turned out to be anything but). She has a handgun that she can use without the need for a stance, and can fire it multiple times in rapid succession. She has a move where she throws a grenade with a strawberry design, and the explosion can be delayed by holding the button. -
CS2 added Platinum, though, she was just DLC after the console patch.

Pretty sure he only said that it was being considered. He did talk about one of his ideas, but it sounded like nothing had actually been decided on. -
You did state that, but you also failed to provide any proof of such.

Two pages late, I know, but is there a source for this? 'Cause it'd be really weird for the Japanese release to have full dual audio while the localized version is limited.

Anti-Gordeau Video: Dont Fear The Reaper!
redsilversnake replied to Rikir's topic in Under Night In Birth
Takehito Koyasu is the only one that joke applies to, because he's been the most prolific seiyuu for a few years now. Last time it was counted, at least, no one in the industry had as many roles as him. -

No, that's Takehito Koyasu, get your seiyuu facts straight. -

It's been confirmed for a while that you can get hit out of an RC. Sigged. -

I thought it was hair car too, but it does look like she's briefly off the ground during her backdash, so that'd be probably be more likely. -
BlazBlue Question Thread - Ask your questions here!

For streams, you only need a premium account to watch timeshifts without a reservation, and if you want a better chance to not get kicked off. To just watch it, all you need is a basic account. Last time, though, Kurushii was kind enough to restream it on his Twitch channel, so I'd recommend keeping an eye out for if he does it again. -
The one I use (or try to, at least, fuck netplay) is 236B>236C>662C>5C>3C>623A>5A>3B>214B>2C>4C>214B. Gets a bit more damage, I think 3.6 or 3.7. Anyway, I was messing around a while back, and found that Orie can actually get at least some corner carry even off of 2A x n. If you do two into 5B, you lose 214B>2C, but I'm pretty sure you don't lose the hard KD from the 214B, so it shouldn't be that big a loss. What you do is combo into 4C (2C>5C might work too, haven't tested that yet) then do delayed j.B>j.C>66C>214B. Getting the delay timing down actually isn't that hard, but it is important to consistently get that part right, since 66C is absolutely terrible to whiff; most characters have easy punishes for it if they tech after the j.C. It's even possible off of three 2As as long as you omit 5/2B and instead go straight to 5C, though the timing on the delayed j.B becomes more strict. It does do slightly less damage than the 2C>5C>3C route, though, so that one would probably be preferable in the corner if you start with something other than 2A.
-
That last one also has pretty good corner carry without the super ender, so I'd definitely recommend it over the other two. It's not even that much harder.
-
Didn't see this kind of combo in the thread or any of the links posted, so I'll go ahead and share the result of some messing around I did in training mode. Midscreen: 6B> 214A> 214B> delayed 236B> 236C> dash under 2C> 5C> 214B> 2C> 4C> 214B

Dude, Baiken is a one-armed sword user who throws out spikes, chains, and a small cannon from her seemingly empty sleeve, how is that not metal as fuck? -
Orie doesn't have a 6C. You should mean to write 4C.
-
My copy should be coming in tomorrow, so for future reference, what are some optimal punishes for baited reversals?
-
I think j.214x is - on block, but probably isn't punishable, whereas 3C is riskier, IIRC. From what I can tell, the latter is less a blockstring move, and more for certain combos and crushing lows. Pretty sure you can at least block after using it, though; I don't remember seeing any players getting hit after using it in blockstrings.

I'd argue that it was because UE4 wasn't even available for use until the month after Xrd's release, but hey, you're entitled to your opinion. -

That's not outsourcing. From what I understand, the way it works is that you buy a license for the engine, which isn't the same as paying another company to do some work for you. So all ASW had to do was get the engine and familiarize themselves with it. From the way my brother explains it, it doesn't really sound like there's much advantage to certain companies using UE4. According him, the license for it is only twenty dollars, but that's made up for by also taking 15% of the gross revenue of any game developed with it. I'm not sure how much that'd affect a company like Namco Bandai, but ASW is still pretty small, so they'd probably get hit harder. For now, I'd say they're more likely to stick to UE3. -

IIRC, it was mentioned at one point that normals become dash-cancellable during DT.
