  1. Up to you if you want, Soniti, to add these 2B character specific combos for those times you land a 2B from a high/low mix up. I'll get the damage numbers later. Works on: Jin, Litchi, and Tager 2B 5B -> JC, j.B+3D j.2C, land, 5B -> JC j.B j.2C j.C, land, dash, 5B 3C. You can add whatever you want after the last 5B (such as your standard 5C+DC combos). EDIT: Damage is 2325 or 2244 depending on how many times 3C hits (1 hit only on Tager). Naturally, more damage can be added on depending on how much wind meter is left, screen positioning, and how much heat you have.
  2. 6A cancels out projectiles.
  3. No. P1 would use wind like normal, and he set the dummy (Rachel) to do 2C+8D to help keep himself floating as well. Pretty smart.
  4. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7516672 Video on how to get Spoonful of Sugar achievement.
  5. Unfortunately, there really isn't anything anyone can tell you that'll make the match a lot better for you. It pretty much comes down to how patient you are and how well you can avoid swords. Even if Nu whiffs a sword, Rachel's poor mobility without wind and lack of long range moves that lead into damage will make it challenging to get in on her.
  6. Dead Spike does not launch on ground hit regardless, so you can't start any juggles with it. After Inferno Divider follows your typical follow up is 5B into D uppercut anyways (in other words you don't have a lot of time to do much else).
  7. Hell's Fang (214A) is pretty much your bread and butter special move. You'll be using it a lot in your ground combos.
  8. lol ragna combo: BnB -> 214A -> RC, run up 5B-3C-5D(1 hit) -> 623C-236C-236C, land, 22C. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6400196 @ 1:40
  9. The problem with S©-H -> GV is that you're not going to be landing any S©-H very often unless it's a punishment situation.
  10. I think that's the joke.
  11. I was talking about it on IRC, which is why I did it. Some people wanted to see it happen, so I did it for lulz. I would've started it with Nives's "math post", but as j1n put it "We Asians work hard to show off our math skills". In any case, enjoy it before I delete all those posts later tonight.
  12. Settle down, children. The moderator has spoken.
  13. You'd be lucky they're even blocking it in the first place.
  14. j.D after CH GV only works in the corner. For mid-screen, you'll have to use j.S. As far as landing dashing j.D in the corner after CH GV, you're just going to have to practice it. Also, j.D doesn't work on all characters, so you'll have to adjust for this.
  15. Not exactly a gameplay video, but here's another awesome game hack video... probably the best one yet. Nico and youtube versions included: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm5808843 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1vr-W2BjPg The latter half is a lot of anime referenses (like Hellsing and Jojo), but I couldn't catch them all. Discuss in the video discussion thread!
  16. You seem to be under the impression that when people say "Japanese players", they mean ALL Japanese players. Generally when people say that, they generally refer to the top or well known players. Yes, there are Japanese scrubs and whatnot, no one will deny that, but generally when people say "Japanese players" they're talking about the good, well known players.
  17. Posts moved to the general Sol discussion topic.
  18. You see, when you make ignorant posts like this I can't help but think you're trolling. Let's be real here; Japanese players do not suck. Don't kid yourself. All those players that went to SBO suck? Are you serious? You're right that they're not superhuman, but to say that they suck (i.e. they don't know what they're doing) is just plain ignorant. You don't think Sol players have sat down and tried every thing they could with BR FRC? You don't think players like Isa, 012, P.C, Kishitaka, Roi, and other good Sol players didn't experiment with BR FRC's potential? You don't think that in the whole two years the game has been out, Sol players haven't experimented with BR FRC's potential? There's a reason why it's not used very often: because it's a gimmick and/or not very useful outside of combos. I don't think you realize what a gimmick is in relation to fighting game strategy. A gimmick is something you'd use that is weird, unconventional, and used to throw the opponent off. Good players will often see through your gimmicks very quickly, making them gimmicks since they'll only work once or twice. A good example of a gimmick Sol player would be Kusoru, who does all kinds of crazy, unconventional stuff. He does manage to win sometimes, but he is definitely not as solid as the Sol players I mentioned above and not SBO material (as much as I love to see him play). That said, GF FRC is NOT a gimmick. It is a tried and true way since XX to get back in on the opponent for a mix up. It's not without it's flaws, but it definitely is reliable. If you really think BR FRC is the way of the future, then go for it. Experiment with it in actual matches against good players. See how it goes. Try to use it reliably. I'm pretty sure you'll come to realize that it's not as great as you think it is.
  19. Gimmicks. If you haven't seen this in actual match footage (read: done by good Japanese players, and no Kusoru doesn't count), then it's not exactly useful. The concept is there, but it's executed horribly due to the fact that you're using 25% meter for a high/low mix up. You're better off spending the tension on GF FRC. On very rare occasions you could get some sort of gimmick off of BR FRC in a pressure string, but it's not something you'd want to use as a reliable mix up/pressure string. Most of the time you'll be using BR FRC in combos.
  20. Ogawa is right. Why? He's a robot.
  21. The first one wasn't even a fuzzy guard; the Eddie player got hit by the j.S. But yes, that set up can be used as a fuzzy guard. You just better hope that j.D hits though, cus it's probable that you're going to get punished if it whiffs. Overall it's not something you should or would use very often.
  22. It's invulnerable to throws on frames 1-7.
  23. Here's the thing: when you come into a competitive gaming scene and say "I think xxx is abusable and I like winning without it", it creates a "holier than thou" persona that people dislike. When you make statements like that, you're projecting a view that you're higher than other people that use xxx, that you have a higher moral ground than they do. It's very similar to people that say "I use low tier because using high tier is cheap!" Nobody likes it when someone has a holier than thou attitude. It's only natural for people to have the reaction they did when you have an attitude like that.
  24. DQing someone and then BANNING them from the next tournament is a horrible idea. What purpose does that serve? The DQ is punishment enough since you don't get to play and you don't get your money back.
