lol #R... #R would've been a much better game if it weren't for Eddie. #R Slayer and Jam were pretty bullshit, but they were managable; no one came close to how strong Eddie was. Hell, if you put #R Eddie in AC he'd be S tier.
-
IIRC Sol wasn't even that good in X. Johnny was #1 for sure, and I think Jam and Millia were pretty high up there. In any case, AC is the most balanced in terms of gaps in tiers, but match up wise I think it's less balanced that Slash, if that makes any sense. Slash was pretty boring... but there wasn't insane amounts of bullshit like there is in AC. IMO the only truly unbalanced thing about Slash was Robo-Ky because he was so god damn awful compared to everyone else. Everything else was fine.

None of this really matters since forward EXE Beast beats everything.

Just like Doren is the Whitest Jam Alive, I am the Blackest Sol Alive.

^The youtube video you linked has the Sol player named Mausu, or Mouse.

Oh man I can't wait to do this with Sol... oh wait all of his FRCable moves suck balls on block anyways.

I'm not sure why you're being anal or why you have such a hostile tone. What I posted in the #R gunflame thread about the combo being impractical wasn't meant to sound sarcastic or anything, so I'm sorry you took it as such. The reason why I compared Sol's BR FRC to Robo-Ky's 5H FRC is because the timing is quite similar, with BR being FRCable on frames 6-8 and Robo-Ky's 5H being FRCable on frames 5-8 according to the frame data. Similar timing, which is why I said that if you can do Robo's 5H FRC you can certainly do Sol's BR FRC. I've experimented with BR FRC, and I even use it in combos from time to time... but from my experience, using it where the first hit actually hits is actually pretty difficult since you need to be so close. The timing from hit stop doesn't really change all that much since the FRC is so early (like Robo's 5H FRC). I'm actually quite fond of going for BR FRC in the corner during situations I can't land a CLSW. Example being some sort of launcher in the corner, j.S-D -> BR FRC, j.D -> JC, dj.D -> SVV. It looks pretty cool, is useful for when you can't get CLSW, and gets knockdown. I even got some lulz from my Japanese friend when I did one; "Aaaaa Kusoru!!!".

Looking through this thread again, wasn't Eddie's information translated? I swear it was... BUT SOME FAGGOT NAMED KOOGY never copy pasted it into the other posts.

^Or you could OS throw.

Pulling a worthwhile combo after it is pretty hard, considering she's knocked so high up into the air. IIRC you'll have to running sj.S -> CLSW in order to get anything after it, and even then I don't think you can even follow up the CLSW with anything since she's up so high. You're better off doing 2D -> BR for the knockdown and go for mix up right after.

A year ago when #R online came out, a Testament player on here named Forest Blazer made a "live action combo video" that was supposed to feature combos from his online games. First of all, they were hardly fancy combos and were just general bread and butter combos usually done on punish, and second a lot of them were black beat combos, meaning they were invalid. Myself, and others (but myself in particular), pointed this out immediately and made fun of him for it. He never knew what black beat ever meant, and he ended up being a big joke in the community for a while until he pretty much disappeared from these forums (aside from #R online I think). I'm pretty sure he hates me now. So yeah, whenever there's a black beat combo, it's a "Forest Blazer" combo or "forests blazing!". I guess only a few people remember this or only a handful were around to witness that legendary thread. Also, feel free to check out his video on youtube (just look up "forests blazing") for epic lulz.

I called it impractical because it is. A meaty gunflame hits how often? From my experience it's a rare occurance, and I can't ever remember the last time that ever happened. Someone who gets hit by meaty gunflame was either not blocking, mashing buttons, misses a reversal, or tries to backdash. All of those scenarios except missing a reversal are unlikely to happen in a match, and even then trying to reversal out of meaty GF isn't exactly the best idea in itself. On the rare occasion this does happen in #R, meaty gunflame hitting that is, you'd do a standard B&B combo after it or DL if it's in the corner, so its usefulness isn't really that high. Sol's combo options in #R are pretty limited, hence why I labeled it impractical. If it were AC, there really isn't much of a difference either; either do B&B combo if too far to do SW loop, otherwise go for SW loop. Besides, since Sol's AC combos usually cap out at 60% without guard bar (on characters with average defense), adding another GF after a meaty GF doesn't really do anything. Linking GF into GF doesn't really change anything.

If you can do Robo-Ky's 5H FRC, you should be able to do Sol's BR FRC. :o
-
So in the end we're left with something impractical.

You mean combo it into GF from a normal? If so, 5H and 2H combo into GF on crouching characters in #R.

What? Kakyuu is awesome. You shut your mouth before you're BANNED. D:<

I've been meaning to tell Nerina to tell Ken that if he has any questions on my commentary (since stuff like "forest blazer" is an inside joke amongst the American community) he can ask me, but I haven't been able to get a hold of Nerina at the right time yet.

Man... Ken is awesome for doing translation on my commentary.

Forward EXE Beast and random Badlands will lose to running VV, but 6K will not unless you can somehow run forward and 623S/H within 8 frames. Even then, it's not worth the risk vs the reward. I'd also like to add that jumping away from Testament at the start of the round will get you away from anything. Even if he Badlands you'll be able to block it in the air. Case in point: your best options at the start of the round is to play it safe and either block or jump away. Backdashing and IAD back get caught by Badlands, and all other options will get stuffed by 6K or Forward EXE Beast.
-
Typically Testament will start off with these offensive options: 6K, Badlands, Forward EXE Beast. 6K will lose to 2D, Riot Stomp, VV, GV. I'm pretty sure it beats everything else Sol has due to its hitbox and it being 8 frames on startup. Unfortunately all of those options you have lose for free against forward EXE Beast into a bad CH combo that'll allow Testament to follow up with a combo. Your defensive options are blocking, backdashing, or jumping away. Unfortunately the last two options will net Testament a 40% combo if he does a random Badlands.
-
Typically your safest opener against Testament is to do nothing; his options are just too good compared to yours.
