  1. T-this...this works? o.O This I didn't know...this will be so helpful thank you very much. :] Thanks to everyone for the advice. ^^
  2. Okay. I'm having trouble with combos that use the usual 6C > dash> 2DD > 2147D > 5DD etc etc. Actually I've always had trouble with them... My main issues are I either: a) Start to bluebeat after the dash > 2DD, from doing it too slow I think. If I continue sometimes I will still land 2147D > 5DD etc. b) I don't bluebeat the 2DD, land the 2147D but got the spacing and/or timing on the 2147D wrong for the 5DD follow up, and they tech before it connects. and c) I connect 5DD > etc but bluebeat it. I'm pretty sure with practice I can possibly fix my dash timing on my own, but the spacing on it is a different thing. How deep in do you have to dash for the follow up to work properly? Do you have to be rather fast or delay the 2147D A bit? And how fast do you have to mash out the 5DD after it's been done right to connect without bluebeating? I successfully land combos that use this in battle only about 20% of the time if even that, and even if I do I usually bluebeat it...and my opponent just didn't escape in time. I keep experimenting with different things...will find what works for a moment but won't be able to duplicate my actions. I keep watching videos too to see what the timing is but I still can't seem to get it right often enough.
  3. Yeah. I remember the mention of the HVGL event, but only heard about the RB tournament. I only went there like once or twice playing Rockband for like, a few minutes lol. Other then that we actually never even went to the gaming room really... And we have SSFIV but we've only played it scattered times before we were like "Wha.." and turned it off.
  4. I never had any hype for SF at all lol. Played it lots really, but never could enjoy it no matter how much I played it...
  5. At this point? I can't say I really have any hope for one because I know the likelihood of there actually BEING one is like, slim...so no. It'd be awesome if there were, but I have to agree with the statement, 808 BB is indeed...sadlife. We'll probably be moving in like, a year or two anyways though so it doesn't matter to me a whole lot. I see no reasons for arcades around here to bother getting CS machines, since no one around here really plays BB seriously. I have a few scattered friends who play it some, but I honestly do not know a single person other then my roommate who plays it beyond casual level. It's pretty damn lame...but eh what can you do?
  6. Outside of a combo, random parsers actually are kinda punishable I belive. Thats why most Lambda players won't use b or c parsers unless they can be sure they will connect (after a CH 5D, for example...) It's unbelievably easy to poke Lambda out of them. Like Dacid said earlier, just punch her before the attack connects and score a CH. If it's blocked most Lambdas just back dash or IAD away immediately after, since it's pretty safe to do so.
  7. GG today cookie. =D Thanks very much for them.

  8. Hehe, thanks. ^^ I'm not awful I suppose, for being new to fighters and only having been playing CT since April. xD And I don't have a capture card as of yet, but I do intend to get one and I'll definitely upload some stuff to try and get some tips later on.
  9. I know, I just forget it exists entirely and pretty much ALWAYS forget to block it if it's used randomly. >>; Or even if he's predictable with it. I'm just that free. I'm still in the process of leaning my matchups...and failing at it. *facedesk*
  10. Yeah, I stared doing that. My friend plays an aggressive Tager, so I try to stay away from him best I can and zone him out. And yeah, spark bolt is definitely my one weakness. I always forget that it exists. >> I need to teach myself to pay attention to his spark meter lol. Thanks very much for your replies, all of this is very helpful. Now to just remember this and not do the whole "forget everything once I actually start fighting..." thing again..
  11. 808 FG people wanna stick what they know, spamming their hadoukens and shoryukens over and over...fast paced gameplay? NONSENSE. No need fo' dat eh? Ho bra we stay on HAWAIIAN TIME... As far as offline...other then each other and our not-so-serious-about-this friends? Not really. >.<;; There were maybe...very scarce people we've caught down at Hawaiian Brian's the few times we went there...who were semi-decent at Calamity Trigger, only like....2 good and one sorta eh. A good Tager and a sorta decent Litchi, and a terribad Taokaka who acted elite then got destroooyed by one of my idiot spamming friends for the lulz.
  12. Any tips on Tagers that volt tackle/sledge spam into 360/720 a lot? This matchup either goes REALLY REALLY well for me or it goes in the toilet as soon as I get magnetized...and I feel like I'm glued to this guy, which for Lammy is no bueno. D: I've been trying to time it and punish him with Lam's DP but I can never seem to pull it off in time. (Online lag doesn't...help much...grah...) >.<;
  13. This pretty much describes every online match I've ever had. Stuff thats so easy offline becomes exponentially harder to do online for me. I'm used to offline matches, so whenever I try doing ranked I always forget how laggy it is an get my ass handed to me quite often unless the person I'm fighting sucks pretty bad. People I could normally beat I just can't online. It's very frustrating, so I mostly stick to offline unless someone actually asks to fight me.
  14. =D Sweet, thanks. I'll definitely go take a look.

  15. Wish I knew, need more 808 people up in here.
  16. ^this x100. Serious. I'm one of those people who never got into GG till after playing BB, I'll admit it's a great game, but I currently don't own a console version of it (PSP...meh, the dpad on that shit sucks...) cause of that I can't really play it to it's fullest. But regardless, I think people should play whatever game thats fun for them with people who are fun to play with. =3
  17. I haven't been playing BB long. I actually got into he game cause I saw a (very bad) cosplay of Taokaka at a an anime convention this year. Found out she was from Blazblue and was like "Oh looks interesting." So my roommate got CT. I loved Tao's design and character SO much, and I mained her for a few months or so solely based on that. I sucked terribly with her though. Eventually we got our friends into it too, then our more idiotic guy friend discovered how to spam bugs with Arakune. We were all serious scrubs, so we got spammed to death. A lot. I had remembered that the friend of mine who told me who the Taokaka cosplayer was had ranted about how uber-broken the character called Nu was. I wanted to beat down our spammy friend, since he was pissing everyone off, so I learned a few combos and....god damn I had a lot of fun with her. I beat the hell out of our spammy friend...then got pretty serious about actually learning how to play for real. I now Main Lambda in CS, and don't even intend to drop her. =3
  18. Yeah, most people I know around here who play BB are casual players. The rest are all Street Fighter or Tekken people. I never understood SF, a whole huge cast sure enough, but once you learn one character in the game, you can pretty much play with anyone else semi-decently lol. Kinda boring IMO. And Tekken feels sorta weird and slow. GG I'd play more heavily once they get a new next-gen console version I can assure you. (I've heard rumors!! <<;; Let us hope.) BB will probably always be my main FG though, it's the one that got me into FGs seriously. (I...haven't been playing FGs very seriously for long..maybe since about...April...of this year...*fail*...)
  19. I hope to get much better, fighting your Lam was really great. I saved our replays, and hope I'll learn form them over time. Lunar and I have only been playing this game since...um...about April of this year. xD And we have no previous fighting game experience outside of mashing stupidly in Soul Calibur lol. BB made us take it seriously. =3 We should definitely fight again sometime.

  20. GGs! Had fun. Your Lam is pretty sweet. I need to learn how to not forget all my combos and spam due to nerves lol. I always end up spamming out of panic.

  21. Thanks for the welcome. I'll try and get Lunar to post as well. Hawaii gaming scene feels dead these days. We're not good at ALL as far as GG goes. xD Neither of us really know combos or anything, like I said, scrub playing. =P But I guess my main in GG would be Millia as my "main" and Bridget as my "sub". Lunar's "main" is Jam and her "sub" is Baiken. Although..neither of us really play enough to really know for sure who we enjoy most. We're more into BB these days, mostly cause we don't have a console version of GG. (PSP version....hate playing on that thing's d-pdad man. xD)
  22. +2 808 BB players. ^_^ Me and LunarSelenia. We also dabble/scrub about in GG some.
  23. This is wonderful and immensely helpful. ^_^ Thanks very much for this Tuka.
  24. Yeah, still working on getting Nu muscle memory to stop rearing it's head when playing Lambchops. D: Doesn't help that I haven't been playing the game that long either. (Only starts playing CT Since around april...of this year..*shot*) >> That being said sure, practice sounds great. You can add me on PSN if you play on PS3, but I doubt I'll be much of a challenge heh. xD

  25. I understand this, as I still don't have a real sub either. If I had to pick it'd be Tao, but only because she was the first character I used in the game, and the only other character I can fight with and still have some hope of winning. Can't say I know jack shit about her though. xP I've played Nu/Lambchops for awhile now, so everyone else feels weird to me. I'm used to the zoning and ranged combos so hitting people up close (especially aerial combos) feels odd, and is hard for me. It doesn't help that this is the first time I've really played a fighting game seriously, and am still learning the mechanics of it.
