  1. That's silly. If I buy it at half the price after a month, I've gotten 80% of the game for 50% of the cost...
  2. Fair enough; I guess I'm not watching the combo parts of these videos closely enough, because I'm too busy facepalming at how crap our neutral and pressure still are.
  3. My money is on 4-5, because OMG TEXT! :P Though who knows.
  4. Honestly, it doesn't even seem like good combo filler, since it seems like they keep reducing the number of ways we can land it. D moves are worse again. I do not understand the point of this at all. I really want to have a long chat with whoever is responsible for this.
  5. I'm probably going to do what I did for CSExtend: Not buy it until I can get it used for cheap. That way, ASW sees no money from me.
  6. Uh, who here is 'preferring' the BB style of billing us $40-60 every 9 months exactly? We like the GAME better, but that doesn't mean we like the way it's sold.
  7. Well, that's sad. I haven't tried playing with my local buddy yet.
  8. Just to pick on this point - Bullypucky. I was playing Extend on the 360 right up until CP U.S. release, which should, if the naysayers in this thread are to be believed, have been a perfect storm of emptiness without a single living soul as far as the eye could see, but christ, I was finding more games then than I'm finding in CP _NOW_. A situation which, I daresay, was assisted by the ability of people to train while waiting for Player Match opponents, making kicking back and waiting for someone to drop by a a viable passtime. CP has a handful of player matches to which I have zero bars, usually one room to which I have a decent connection which inevitably has no connection limit and therefore has some jackass zero bar person in it ruining the matches for everyone, and a small handful of Japanese players hanging out in Kagutsutchi (zero bars again). I'm actively -pining- for old Extend at this point, and I expect this announcement is going to kill things deader. I don't think it's the netplay, per se, so much as the fact that there are no goddamn connection indicators, so there's no way to tell whether the person you are playing with has a great connection, or are running satellite from Alaska.
  9. Good point; I forgot about Nu being basically burst safe now, all the time. x.x
  10. okay, I would buy this for Jubei.
  11. I dunno, Kokonoe always seemed like a dumb as crap "look at me, I do my setup and it doesn't actually matter what you do because Graviton autocorrects everything anyway" character.
  12. Yeah, I dunno, I think I'm with you here. After 5 updates or so with them showing no sign that they understand and want to address the issues with my character, I may just decide that they don't need any more of my money. On the other hand, if this is a full release, it means they have no excuse for not including the fancy lobby features that they added to Xrd (and, ideally, improving on stuff again. I mean seriously guys, why the %$^*%^$ did you remove "train while waiting for opponents" from player match?) Y'know, the more I think about it, the more I remember that CP is actually a crap release from an actual port perspective. Maybe they can get one more chance out of me if they demonstrate that they really want to do this one right.
  13. Probably never, based on the response to this release.
  14. I... would be really surprised if there were any differences between the PS3 version and the "current gen" console version of this game. No way in heck they're going to uprez the sprites. Maybe they'll like, antialias or something. z.z
  15. Aye; Even Dogura can tell jokes.
  16. Let's just say that historically, my version happens way more often than yours in this game. And anyway, what's to stop some whiny player who feels like his 'formerly top tier' character didn't get 'enough' buffs? Why buff them at all? Just keep them interesting.
  17. I sortof concur. But I think it's actually simpler than that. There are characters who started off good. And there are characters who started off bad. And, in general, this doesn't change very much, unless you're talking about a character who started off Surprise Top Tier like Makoto and Kokonoe - those characters get nerfed. But pretty much everyone else gets exactly the opposite of what people around here are trying to claim happened with this iteration - the vast majority of the time it's either "Yeah, you were top tier in the last game, so we nerfed you, but here, have some buffs that put you right back where you were." or "Yeah, you were bad in the last game, so we buffed you, but we were afraid you might actually be decent, so we gave you some nerfs that leave you pretty much back where you were." There are a few characters where they just seem to spin the wheel of whatever - Ragna, Jin, Hakumen, mostly, seem to be all over the place in the tier lists overall, but otherwise, honestly, I agree that the tier lists are pretty static, like you imply, because Arc seems unable to nerf without buffing, or buff without nerfing - in pretty much equal proportion.
  18. Logic fail continues! If you nerf a character, and then buff them, you don't change the tier list. This is why Hazama was A+ for like 5 games, because they'd be like "Well, Hazama needs to be nerfed..." <nerfs him gently> "...but we should give him some buffs so players don't feel bad..." <puts him exactly where he was in the tier list before>
  19. BAD IS GOOD, BABY! DOWN WITH GOVERNMENT!
  20. Nonsense. First of all, ALL of the characters I mentioned above are still well beyond "viable". Second of all, flowing logically from the first point, just because a character is "nerfed" doesn't mean they're suddenly not viable. After all, if a character is top tier, by definition, they can lose things and still be as good as the rest of the cast. Third of all, a decrease in power does not necessarily make a character less interesting, nor does an increase in power necessarily make them more interesting. These two values are tangentially related at best, and it's easily possible to make a character more powerful while making them less interesting. Fourth of all, you can't just say "Oh, well, just buff all the weak characters to the same level as the top tier characters!" because sometimes, top tier characters are just stupid, and having everyone at that level would make for an incredibly stupid game, even if it was balanced. Hyperbolic example: If one character has a touch of death combo that can kill from 100%, does that mean that instead of nerfing that character, they should instead give EVERYONE a touch of death? No, no it does not. There's a lot of logic fail in this thread. That doesn't necessarily mean that 2.0 is great and everything's fine, but it does mean that most of the reasons people are throwing around in this thread are poorly thought out at best.
  21. Some characters NEEDED to be made worse. Sorry Litchi/Kokonoe/Azrael. P.S. Most of you weren't that technical to begin with.
  22. My only personal opinion is that I don't like what they've done to MY character. She doesn't seem appreciably better (and I still feel she should be - and the prevailing opinion seems to agree with me) and she seems much less interesting now. I don't have a feeling about the whole game, but if everyone stayed pretty much the same in power level, but became more boring to play, I could totally see how people would be displeased with this iteration.
  23. Rachel players can go then, if they want, but that's not exactly "A lot" of the complex, higher tier characters.
  24. Well, I was in the process of sending you an invite when you logged off again. :P
  25. Large rooms + 3 rounds to victory + No connection limits = DIE IN A FIRE! Any one of those three by itself is annoying, all three together is a firestorm of how to make netplay awful.
