If "I can't do it right now" is going to stop you from practicing, then save yourself a lot of frustration and get out this hobby now, because you will never get decent at anything. I don't care if you can't do a TWO hit combo without mashing right now. Go into training mode until you can. Then move up to three. Then four. There is no magic bullet that will make you not do this. You just have to STOP and learn to do it RIGHT.

I have a similar problem, and it diminishes somewhat with time, but it's wiser to, yes, go into training mode and practice not mashing. If you can't CONSCIOUSLY not mash, then there's no way you'll ever be able to reflexively not mash.

Uh, while I don't understand WHY someone would do this (I mean, literally all the information they could get by joining the room - connection quality, owner, and the fact that only one person was present - is available to them before they join) it was hardly 'abusive'. In fact, if I had just waited like 5 seconds before dropping out of training mode, I wouldn't have had to do anything.

No. :P In fact, back in Extend, I would get my quota of annoyance just from the people who joined the room, caused me to leave training mode, and then dropped. :P I dunno, but they removed it from Extend going into CP too, so... rage level: RISING.

If the next game has F-ing "Train while waiting for opponents" I will buy it, day one. If it doesn't, screw it, I'll go play UNIEL or something.

Apparently, there's a BB (and P4AU) tournament happening at PAX East this year? Who's going to be there? :P

I miss online lobbies too. I don't know why everyone is in player matches now. Maybe I will just go sit in a lobby and be sad and forlorn. It's not like player match has train while waiting for opponents anyway. :P (If it sounds like I'm harping on this a lot, I used this feature EVERY DAY I played CSE, and it made life so much better, because I didn't have to choose between "Get some practice in" and "maybe get a real match.")

Is this even worse when games update to slightly new versions and change the UI?

And I would be looking above the health bar because...? I am deadly serious. It actually took me like ten seconds to find it AFTER I read that it was a "font" difference.

Yeah, apparently the character whose schtick is spending resources doesn't actually get to spend meter on combos now. :P I guess it's nice that we can finally double super, even though ours requires OD and our supers still do arse for damage. :P

I don't understand. Why would you even be looking at that part of the HUD? If this is the sort of thing people don't buy localizations over, I'm surprised we get as many as we do.

Thanks! I feel like I was playing pretty well yesterday. Still a few dopey execution issues, but I felt like I was playing a much more 'free' neutral game, which was clearly working a little bit. Need more practice doing anti-Jin things. x.x

I confess, I looked at both screenshots for like two minutes, couldn't FIND the difference, and had to read what was being complained about. I think you are blowing this out of proportion.

I think the use of the word "sometimes" pretty much killed the point you were trying to make. Yeah, every once in a while you see a known great player playing sans-card or under some weird alias or something because they're joking around or they left their card at home. What you DON'T see is some guy blowing everyone up because they've played thousands of matches but never got around to getting and using a card. Which is what would need to happen for the rankings to actually be "skewed" in some way.
