  1. I was basically talking about characters with 'standard' backdashes - 5F of invulnerability, etc. These don't seem to have enough range to do it for me?
  2. What's the answer to people who backdash a lot?
  3. It seems pretty thin on the ground with the demise of Brain Box, leaving Gaming Underground about the only game in town, and they're not even IN town. The "Game Over" event in Harvard Square sounds promising, but I don't know if there's anything approaching enough of us to encourage them to...encourage us, as it were. How many of you are there (since you mention your friends) and where are you located?
  4. How is this useful exactly? It seems like there's a pretty substantial amount of time between when you cross them up and when they actually have to block the right direction (thanks to superflash and slow startup). I was hoping this was some way you could cross them up WHILE the swords were hitting so they'd have to switch block directions, but I don't know if that would even work because they might just be locked in blcokstun at that point...?
  5. I think this is probably a good idea now that CP has all these netplay options that assist with this kind of thing (online training mode, sharing replays, etc.). But I don't have CP, so I'm out. :P Question though for anyone who has used the replay lobby function in CP, does only the 'owner' of the replay have control over playback (pause, etc) or does 'everyone'? Also, can other people save the replay after viewing?
  6. What vexes me, overall is two things: #1: There are a lot of stupid "this makes it harder for you to do stuff, but it's still POSSIBLE to do that stuff, so it doesn't affect your objective tier placement" junk this time around. I mean, FFS, we're making spreadsheets of what combos work on wo. #2: One of the biggest complaints about Extend Tsubaki was that her normals aren't very good. So they made them...worse for CP? x.x Oh well. It seems like some progress. I'm sure I'll be awful for a while when I finally get my hands on the game, but maybe the extra levels of execution pain will help me level up.
  7. Theoretically couldn't you do 22B on round opener? It's three frames faster than her 2B[m] and she DOES start out holding the staff. The reward for CH 22B is pretty large, if I recall, but I don't know if you need a charge to really make it happen (probably?). Still loses to Itsuu, but at least you can keep her honest a little bit?
  8. No, THAT was the 5BB change. ;P
  9. I wonder if there has been a similar increase in difficulty for other characters (it's too much to hope for 'all' certainly); If so, that might indicate that BB has...basically gone Guilty Gear and made things "hard" to satisfy the "BB is a dumb, easy game" crowd.
  10. Chicken, egg; Character who isn't given enough work doesn't get many players, character that doesn't have many players doesn't get given enough work.
  11. Pretty much. We're seriously approaching 'we would actually be better off if this move were removed entirely' territory with this one. Pretty much everything you can do after 5BB would be better done off 5B instead. =/
  12. You probably don't notice it because you haven't played the game in years. :P But why would you even DO 5BB if you're at 'point blank ranges'? 5C or 5B > 5C (if you might need to jump cancel) is superior to 5BB in all situations now, so why even use the move?
  13. I don't know, and it's really awful. It's like they're saying "Haha, you pushed B too many times, sucks to be you!" Of all the changes they gave us for this revision, it's the one that makes the least sense.
  14. Tsuuna vs Errol. ;P
  15. Only it really didn't, since it's been out in arcades for like a year. x.x I didn't mention Valk and Tao because I just haven't seen them do as much stupid stuff as the characters I did mention. This may just be my personal lack of viewing videos of those characters though. What if they gave Valk's forward wolfdash some landing recovery? Even just a few frames would make his high-low stuff way less redonkulous without crippling him as a character. I thought Rachel's bat-wheel-thing caused her 5D to always blow exactly towards the opponent or something like that? Maybe I'm getting it mixed up? So many changes.
  16. Those of us who don't play Hakumen are more excited about this idea. :P Though I must admit, I wish Arc Sys would chill with the whole "rearrange EVERYTHING every update!" schtick and just adjust the problem characters (little more love for Tsubaki/Makoto/Tager/Amane/Izayoi, some noifs for Hazama/Jin/Hakumen/Litchi). It doesn't need to be a big dog & pony production where everyone has to learn new combos.
  17. So uh, some of the videos are still being processed?
  18. Since you mentioned it, I dug up the matches I saved vs him. Please ignore how terrible my play is, hopefully there's something of value in all the stuff he does: Playlist of matches. These are all from different times and whatnot, sorry, I'm lazy and just kinda threw them up there.
  19. Ah, that makes sense, though I'm amazed that anyone can tell.
  20. I don't actually understand what you mean when you say this. "About two frames slower"? So.. the match starts up an everything is two frames behind? Or two frames get added every second? Or every X frames? Or you just have two frames of input lag on everything?
  21. Yes, though it's not clear by how much. j.236D has no landing recovery anymore though, so you literally cannot be punished for it if you make it to the ground - the opponent has to hit you while you're still falling.
  22. Really? Valk with no wolf form mixup doesn't sound weak to you? I'd hold off on this idea for CP; I think most of the people who are 'big name' enough for us to care about are probably all importing. That said, if you want to maintain momentum, you might want to do another episode of something in the meantime. Hell, maybe you can do a sendoff battle for Extend. :P That said, FT10 might be kinda long. I'd probably be more interested in a greater number of first to fives.
  23. Aaaaand good games to NoNombreHombre.
  24. GGs to ShallowSilver.
