  1. Okay well, I don't know about you guys but I really enjoyed the single elim bo1 thing. 11-man bracket took less than 45 minutes on one station, and I'm pretty sure it could be almost twice as fast if we had the players for the next match on deck at all times. We should use this format for the weekly/monthly events imo, while still keeping the 2/3 double elim format for bigger events, obviously. Might not go then on Saturday since I'm going on Sunday anyways, depends what time I get home after supper and if others still go...
  2. oh my dayum http://poutineweekmtl.com/?language=eng it's like burger week from this summer if anyone remembers/participated. Basically there are a bunch of restaurants who participate, they have a special poutine for this event at a special price (small 5$, large 10$). When you buy one, you get a code you can use online and vote for your favorite. Obviously the results are biased towards the downtown ones that get all the activity, but it's cool to discover new random restaurants everywhere. We should invade a few
  3. A bit of tech I'd like to share since I haven't seen anyone else do this yet, it's good in CSEX but I doubt it'll still work in CP so have fun with it while you can. When you want to bait a burst after 6a, instead of going into 6a j.2c for example, don't just block. Jump forward, hold back, wait, react, and do a delayed j.b j.c j.2c if they don't actually burst. j.2c is 21f startup and j.b is 10f startup, add that difference to the jump startup and hitstop, so you have time to see if they're bursting or not and pick the correct option. If the prorate was good enough sometimes you can still get a decent combo out of it. In the corner you can just go for a super ender after that, so if it would kill them anyways, you're better off going for this burst safe version rather than going for the full damage combo.
  4. I should be there tomorrow. There's usually around 5 of us on Tuesdays. The flood is between Peel/Union, and Sherbrooke/René-Lévesque, it's still two streets away from foonzo, should be ok. Skype group is actually somewhat active, lol.
  5. Canada is me, DerQ, Airmaster, maybe another. We can bring 2-3 setups. I doubt Toronto is coming.
  6. jvais etre au centre ville aussi, on va au resto pour la fete a mon frere, jpourrai aller au foonzo apres.
  7. Might as well make a skype group in the meantime, having ppl's skype infos might be useful at some point eventually. DerQ or anyone else who'd want in, add me, my skype is "pochped"
  8. Thursday this week, Guilty Gear and hopefully Melty Blood free tournaments. There will be at least one BB station on the side. There always is. Stop asking plzzz. Meetups on Tuesday and Sunday too, and foonzo's new schedule and menu are in effect. Foonzo's new food is pretty godlike. It's cheaper, healthier, and tastes better imo. Bibimbap ftw. hey, steb and I were preparing for divekick also, did the chat on sankishin just disappear for everyone or just me?

  10. The fries may only be temporarily gone. They sold well, so they hope to bring them back if they can eventually get a new machine for them or something. With a big MAYBE, don't like wait for them or something. A lot of moves beat it, Zappa's 5k is great for that, but there's also stuff like some frames of May's 5HS and stand animation, or like HOS's FD animation or something like that, that make it whiff. It looks dumb, but fuck slidehead anyways.
  11. Something small every Thursday, and something a bit bigger one Sunday per month, or so. Then there's MAD mid-june.
  12. Notice : Foonzo is changing their opening hours, this takes effect starting next Tuesday, someone correct me if I'm wrong but iirc it was (bolded changes are the most important ones for us), close times can be kinda flexible depending on who's closing and the level of activity there. Monday : closed Tuesday : 11 AM - 10 PM Wednesday : 11 AM - 10 PM Thursday : ? - 1 AM Friday : ? - 1 AM Saturday : 5 PM - ? AM Sunday : 1 PM - 10 PM There will also be a new menu starting this Sunday, it should be more adapted to everyone's needs (theirs and ours). Some examples : soft drink prices have gone down, ramen and udon noodles have been added, fries are gone (it created a lot of issues for them)... also, reminder : Persona 4 Arena tournament this week Thursday evening at Foonzo (start time between 7-8 pm, free entry, format decided depends on what will be more convenient). We also want to try KoF13, spread the word, kinda seeing what the interest is. It's worth noting we won't be able to provide a console with DLC and unlockable characters, so if someone could bring one it might be appreciated. shoutouts to nedel picking up stick so fast, being really good with it, and barely complaining about it. (well, except for those few TK supers lol)
  13. oh while we're on that subject... I have Live but my only FG for it is Guilty Gear (and BBCS, not EX)
  14. I dunno about that... BB hasn't been getting good numbers in a while, P4U has only made more people go to tournaments and therefore more people are there for Blazblue anyways. Not that I think numbers are that important, unless you're there for the money. Tournaments are a lot of fun, if there happens to be one in your area try to go to it! There are more and more of these now. To state a few examples, you've got the Buckeye Airdasher Cup in Ohio, Battle for Seattle in PNW, TSB in New York, NCI in Cali, Montreal Air Dashers in Canada...
  15. Greenix (H-Kouma) 7 - 2 pochp (F-Hime, C-seifuku) ggs. you better return soon, I want my runback. edit : oh yeah this thursday is going to be Persona 4 tournament week, free entry as usual, format depends on number of entrants. We should do KoF too if there are enough entrants. start time somewhere between 7 and 8 pm.
  16. are you two already in it? if not what are your skype names?
  17. Anyone here not in the skype group and want in? Here's some information from it I thought would be useful for everyone. note : dash j.b j.b DP¨fuzzy works on ragna, jin, tager, litchi, haku, valk, haz (hard: tsubaki, relius) combo : (dash j.b) dj.b DP RC 6a 6b 5c 2c j.c j.2c 2c 6c 6d SoD 2c/6a j.2c (3c super)
  18. You were right... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pzo5XOUG76E Carl sucks.
  19. Figured I might as well post the full results, 18 for BB? this game is so ALIVE here. Next week we're planning on doing P4U and maybe KoF 1st place: Brice & Derq 2nd place: BladeOfJustice & WakeupDP 3rd place: Kirbster & Bibiquadium 4th place: Pochp & Airmaster 5th place tie: Sam & Sophisticat & Kr3w 5th place tie: Kaeru & Daisyfan 7th place tie: Level5Chan & VIPPER 7th place tie: Steb & Varatnar & Calm101 also, riannon is fun
  20. Since it moves Mu's hitbox, it might allow us to deal with a few specific things. Even though it doesn't work in this case, it still shows the potential : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r1fiTslpLs&feature=youtu.be&t=23m25s I'm usually too slow on reacting to spike chaser with 6c, and both projectiles just cancel each other out, don't know the actual data yet, so this is just speculation.
  21. Sounds hype. I want to MM you in the most relevant game there greenix, you guessed it . Though I'm not doing too good financially so I might have to money match you in less relevant games too so I can eat next week. Anyways shoutouts to almost everyone that came tonight. Especially derq for putting up with us and our outdated games and still running, entering, and winning it. As well as bibi for his patience in consistently resurrecting the stream and stuff.
  22. Road to Ultimate Montreal AirDashers week one, Blazblue, is starting soon. Here is the bracket : http://challonge.com/RUMAD1BB Stream : www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium
  23. Just a reminder that later today (Thursday) we'll be starting our weekly tournaments with BlazBlue, at foonzo 7-8pm ish, depending on when we feel the time is right. I'm going to try to be there for 7:30, but good chance I'll be late (school related stuff). Put me in the bracket/send me to losers'/DQ me if ever, don't want to slow this game down more than it already is... Here's what the schedule for upcoming weekly events looks like (subject to change) : Week 1 (Thursday) Blazblue <- this week Week 2 (Thursday) Persona 4 Arena + KoF Week 3 (Thursday) Guilty Gear + Melty Blood Week 4 (Thursday) maybe AH3 & Aquapizza, with casuals for other games of course Week 4 (Sunday) All Games (that get entrants) Tournament. possibly non-free entry fee It was determined in part by a poll on sankishin, if you haven't voted yet, it's not too late, nothing is set in stone : http://www.sankishin.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=178&p=643
  24. I think this is a good idea overall. More content should help hype up the game, no matter what the format chosen is, as long as it's streamed and even more if it's commentated. My schedule is a bit random, but if I'm available, I'd love to participate. I don't think I'd be able to give good advice on the formats though, as I don't really have any experience with netplay events.
  25. just finished the assignment I was working on, should be available to do shit tomorrow (like go to five guys and then foonzo) if it works out nicely (need to get it approved before I hand it in) here I am posting at 5am finally going to sleep... shows I'm back in school
