  1. It was hype last year, it should be even bigger this year... Announcing Ultimate Montreal Air Dashers Presented by : When : June 8th Where : Foonzo, 1245 Drummond, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. H3G 1V8 http://foonzo.com Venue info : You must be 18 or older to enter the venue. NO EXCEPTIONS (legal age for drinking etc. is 18 in Quebec) You must buy food at the venue as well. Whether it's alcohol, nachos, poutine, sandwiches...Foonzo will even have a special menu for events! You cannot eat outside food or drinks inside the venue too. Main Tournaments : Blazblue CS Extend Guilty Gear (Hopefully AC+R) Persona 4 Arena Side Tournaments : Gundam EXVS 2v2 Melty Blood KoF 13 Aquapazza Arcana Heart 3 Chaos Code Vampire Savior Schedule : 10 AM venue opens 11:30 AM 2 PM Blazblue 5 PM Persona 4 7 PM Guilty gear X AM venue closes Stream : twitch.tv/bibiquadium Rules : 2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches, loser can switch character, format will be 4 pools followed by top 8, 70/20/10, no unlimited/gold/etc... the usual rules. Venue fee : 10$ Main games : 10$ Additional info / FAQ : This tournament is held in Canada, therefore, if you are not Canadian, you will need a passport to enter the country Look into asap if you are interested in, these can take a while to get done. You might want to bring Canadian money, but you can alternatively just go to an ATM over here, or pay with your card. Also, when travelling to another country, your cellphones/smartphones enter roaming and additionnal charges will be applied for anything you do with them. Best idea is to turn off your data and we'll see what we can do about the wifi at the venue. Will I be OK if I don't speak French? Yes, lots of people in Montreal don't even speak French. The event is only one day, why? We'll be having Foonzo all to ourselves on Saturday. All the other days, if people want to show up and play casuals, we will be there anyways! If enough people show up on Sunday or Friday, we could run teams or exhibition matches .(note, closed on mondays) Will I need to bring a jacket? Depends on you, temperature in June here is somewhere between 68 and 86 degrees. (that's 20-30 celsius) Are you working on a group rate for a hotel? Not at the moment, there are a lot of hotels nearby since the venue is downtown. If you're on a tight budget try asking if anyone wants to offer a place to crash, you never know. How is the parking around Foonzo? There's a parking lot right next to it, costs 20$ or so per day. How do I get to Foonzo from the airport? There's a 24/7 bus that passes often (http://www.stm.info/english/bus/planibus/747.pdf), it goes from the airport to downtown, there's a stop about 1 minute walking distance from foonzo. Costs 8$ and generally offers free wifi. How do I get to Foonzo from the train station? It's a 15 minute walk. How do I get to Foonzo from the bus terminus? Depends, with megabus, it's a 10 minute walk. With greyhound, it's either a 30 min walk, or you need to taxi/public transit/get a ride from someone. When's Marvel? In the back there might be a cabinet with it for you to play. When's Gundam? Last year it wasn't great because of its impact on the stream, so for now it might just be a single offline setup. (might change) YES Anything I need to know about driving in Montreal? You can't turn right on red lights, tie your seatbelt, speed limits are in KM/h so learn the equivalences, beware of potholes, avoid the giant orange cones, and don't drink and drive. Can I help? Sure! We'll need people to run the pools, check the door, and bring equipment. You can also help just by spreading the word so as much people as possible make it to this! Why should I come? http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14032-Montreal-Air-Dashers-%28Apr-14-2012%29-Results-and-Shoutouts%21
  2. ...but throw whiff with j.2c hearing "fatal" was the best thing force crouch is really awesome, glad to have it on both j.2c and 6b, especially combined with Ikutachi and 6b 6c gatling. Means you can probably setup a blockstring with a stein allowing you to combo into 6b (or gatling into it without a gap), and then get a decent combo midscreen from it. I'm guessing something like 2b 6a ]d[ 6b 6c ikutachi etc. Or maybe even 5d 6d 236d 6b 6c ikutachi etc. Sounds much more practical than the current (whatever into) 3c ]d[ j.b/c setups. Just hope it's still possible with the other changes. As for j.2c, that most likely means j.c j.2c string is even better. Crouching combo on hit, double overhead on block, mixing it up with j.c 2b (As opposed to it being kind of risky and generally not worth the reward in the extend, unless you have stein backup). Even more hype for bbcp
  3. Damn Mu's combos are pretty hype... Big thanks for the translations Hakimiru. In addition to what C0R said, you might want to try (5d 236a dash 6d 236d dash)xN see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV3IIDPjUGM#t=4m48s. Of course you can't autopilot that infinitely, just react to what happens, but it can lock down players until they figure out how to get out. Once you get used to it, combine it things you picked up from the corner setups, and hatemail will start appearing. Anyways have fun with it in CSEX because the changes don't make it seem as good in BBCP

Shoutouts to Big E Kinda sad I didn't enter Aquapizza because it was at the same time as P4U top 8 and I really wanted to watch that... next time
  5. You sure that's not just you roldy? I remember us not having the best connection in BB.... well at least I can say XBL netcode was decent with jabir and brian. The night I came back from NEC I had this dream where I went to an arcade, they had BBCP. I wanted to try the changes to my character so I picked May and got really pissed when I realized they removed the hitbox on her 2P.
  6. Changes are mostly looking great. Really glad they didn't change air habaya. Slightly worried about CA change to 5b, whiffs so much on crouchers, it might be baited more easily now. Hype for OD combos, hope we can get bomb loops again, really started appreciating them. The colors are looking pretty nice too, but I'll stick with whatever I can select with a single button press :D random note, at NEC I asked Xie to ask Souji what he thought of CSEX Mu, he replied he thought she was mid-high, and that the Mu-Arakune matchup is about even, iirc (I was pretty tired at the time, wish I could have thought of a few other questions).
  7. Maguro. Sakuma sometimes uses the name "Keba" as well. H.H might have some interesting things at the beginning, he comes up with stuff fast.
  8. Meet up with them in Mascouche, you'll leave your car there and then you guys will come to my place, or something like that.
  9. I haven't been keeping up with CP that much yet, but this sounds like no more 6c oki midscreen without sacrificing a lot of damage, someone tell me I'm wrong... Still looking really hype though, hope we'll be able to cancel steins into tachi, like our other specials :D
  10. Not sure tofu can make it, he hasn't confirmed yet. If he still wants to come we'll fit him in the van somehow. Also, Nedel, turns out you're most likely going to come with Kaeru and I so the other car can leave really early (level5 going with the van instead).
  11. http://www.sankishin.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=163&p=593#p593 the options for tofu would be either we'd be 3 on the back seat of kaeru's car or 7 in the van. Only real issue is if we can fit the monitors and the luggage (not much, but a bunch of sticks DO take up some space).
  12. hm, we were pretty much just finalizing the plans today at foonzo for the 10 of us going... I guess there might be a way to fit you in.
  13. just pre-registered too lol, and confirming those setups.
  14. There is still potential for some really high damage combos leading into knockdown, it just costs meter and/or looks actually hard to do now looking forward to what the players can find though, there's hope for some lame stuff, but I'm learning other characters atm in case I'm too much of a fraud to win with her. Cards Against Humanity is awesome.
  15. オモヒカネ = omohikane (632146C super) イクタチ = ikutachi, her new move yes, tsunugui is the DP updated the video thread look, trying out the new template to get ready for bbcp footage. shoutouts to kurushii
  16. yeah his robo is pretty good. +r may is ass
  17. :D I thought it would be much longer. (http://blazblue.jp/images/topics/1121_10/myu.jpg)
  18. So, uh, anyone else here coming to NEC?
  19. why didnt you tell me this yesterday loll I dont (can't) check dustloop at work. anyways we probably won't need the van then, the important thing is just to bring all 11 of us there as well as the 6 setups. (we'd still need to rent some other car, or we might just take the van anyways) This is going to make it more convenient to pick up/drop off everyone :D but yeah extras... Steb you wanna come? Anyone else lol? All you need is a valid passport and around 300$. (60ish for rooms, 150ish for travelling, rest for food, venue fees and tournament fees). We leave from Montreal Friday morning and return Monday evening. You also may or may not have to sleep on the floor of the hotel room 0/1/2/3 nights. Sleep is a very relative term though. Drivers get priority on the beds.
  20. NEC trip planning summary : we're going to rent a van and split nedel's bus ticket, kaeru can most likely still take the plane and we'll be taking 6 setups with us. All cars will be leaving as early as possible friday morning, and returning some time during the day on monday. Huge shoutouts to DerQ for running shit last night, big thanks to brice and bibi for the help as well, I dunno why I was too tired to be of any help or remember how to dolphin loop but whatever, GGs guys! We'll try to run another event like this one in December, hopefully make this become a monthly event, as it's more convenient to get more people to come and make things really hype :D GG Results (off the top of my head, might be wrong) 1. Brice 2. Pochp :KY: 3. Kev/tatari 4. Kaeru 5. Kirbster Greenix 7+. Level5Chan Sophisticat Airmaster Bibiquadium DerQ Sam Did I forget anyone? Archive here for P4U/GG/BB : http://www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium/b/341243029

  22. GG starting soon : http://www.twitch.tv/Bibiquadium p4u results : 1.kirbster 2.greenix 3.brice 4.pochp
  23. The evo monitor isn't the only lagless screen you can get, it's just the one used at evo and in a lot of other tournaments, so it's what a lot of people get because of its reputation and reliability. This thread may help you find an alternative : http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/sub-1-frame-hdtv-monitor-input-lag-database.145141/ (and no monitor is really lag free, but at some point you just can't tell the difference)
