  1. Holy shit. I finally decided to figure out how FRCs work, and now Gear is even more ridiculous than I first realized. And I made a liar out of myself. Ky is just too damn fun to put down.
  2. You seem to be missing Melty Blood there, hombre.
  3. Yeah, that's why I use disclaimers like 'apparently'. They implied that it wasn't going to happen when they said that. There's always room for them to change their minds, however unlikely. @Star's Thanksgiving; From what I can tell, Star's not even all that certain he'll be able to host, but if he is I'll try and make it down there. He's got a friggin' Melty Blood setup now, dammit.
  4. Nah. February = 2 November = 11 11-9 = 2. @midnight - Hehe, you too. I haven't been playing shit. Should be getting a decent job in the next week or two, so hopefully things'll turn around. I just have to pray I get enough hours to replace my ps3 before I get surgery on mah foots and can't work. In other news, Under Night In-Birth ain't comin to console apparently. French Bread's talking about releasing it on Steam. Now I definitely need to get my hands on a non-crap PC.
  5. You know what this means, right? You were conceived on Valentine's day, bro. That's my birthday present to you. <3
  6. Just saw Hilda for the first time. . . Maybe I really am a zoner at heart. She's also got Narukami's get outta jail free card. In any case, anyone who isn't already interested better at least try UNI. Tad's already preparing to become my 2D bitch. I'll be glad to fight anyone else for forced servitude in the winner's game of choice. I'll have you all playing Melty and UNI for life.
  7. Hei was always free. In a fight against a bunch of un-named mooks, he'll wreck them all with style. If you pit him against an actual character, he'll die if he isn't saved by another character. The only fights he won straight up in a 1v1 was Wei and the cigarette eating Opera singer in Season 1 and the Magician in the beginning of Season 2. Also, in South America before he got powers, he fucking lynched a contractor with concussive blasts. Maybe against Lightsaber Lesbian, but I don't really count it because she went down after a single shot to the gut for some reason, and in their actual fight she wrecked him. Everyone else he either needs help or he gets the jump on his opponent. The only reason he looks so good is because the creators throw a bunch of henchmen in his path and his risk/reward is amazing. Make no mistake, Hei's a badass. He's true S because he's got zoning, movement options, speed, and mix-ups, and a single meterless hit-confirm nets him a kill. But due to his mentality, more often than not he's being rescued by the other characters. He lacks foresight and sucks at mind-games. He can be tricky sometimes, but he's terrible at reading his opponents. He was saved from Ilya by July, he fled from November, was later caught by November 11 before being rescued, was bodied by Lightsaber Lesbian, was EASILY bodied by the illusory contractor in Gaiden (even after being warned that it was a trap). He was also rescued by Mao from the body swapping contractor in Season 1. I can't really remember all of the specifics, but I do remember going back and watching it through again specifically to audit his skill. Most of the time, he's free as fuck.
  8. http://www.trizone91.com/2012/05/darker-than-black-season-3-announced.html FUCK. YES. HEI IN HIS PRIME BEFORE HE BECAME A FREE ASS SCRUB.
  9. Clarksville. If I remember correctly, we held some sort of record for how many residents had chlamydia. At one point, 75% or so of our high schoolers had it.
  10. So I was regretting not getting a ride to this party Friday, only to find out today that 3 people ended up getting shot. I love my town.
  11. I just play Ky for lolz because he's really intuitive. As soon as I picked him up, I just felt I -knew- how he was supposed to play. First time I've ever been able to apply oki instinctively. For srs bsns I'm learning Testament & Faust, because fuck it, Milln's right. Now I feel like starting Gear up. Who should I start with?
  12. It's Mark Brendanawicz from Parks & Recreation. It's pretty eerie because at some angles it's like I'm seeing you on tv.
  13. Theory-craft can be a valid tool when used in conjunction with actual match experience or some stupid shit like that. . . w/e. Not to start a debate; we all have our own methods. I just don't think he was rejecting theory craft so much saying we need to make sure we have a lot of experience to back it up. Or something. I don't even. blegh. At GG, I don't even know who to play, man. I'm split between Testament and Faust at the moment. In other news . . . I've found Jo- Milln's Polish uncle.
  14. That moment when you have a dream about breaking into a friend's house to scare her, only for it to be her latina doppelganger, so you block her telegraphed capoeira kicks before grabbing her and stuffing her in a backpack. Then she doesn't resist at all and only responds when you say something to her, so you leave her house and start breaking into other people's houses for. . . some reason. Also, nobody ever locks their doors at night.
  15. It's your birthday, you should be happy and stuff! Besides, we all know you're not a waste of space. I know it's a bit late, but happy one-more-year-until-you-can-legally-drink day! Also, you can get like three games, or one Swap Magic... Hmmm... It's not you, it's the game. P4A is great and all, and I have a blast playing it, but compared to BB/GG, I don't think there's as much depth underneath the surface, you know? Not trying to start anything- I honestly feel like there's beauty in simplicity (it's kind of what my playstyle is based around, haha), and that's what makes P4A great IMO. It's just that as far as advanced tech and combos go, P4A feels more limited comparatively. Fix'd You're right. P4A is the bare bones of an air dash fighter. It's stripped down for accessibility, and that's it's beauty. It's streamlined yet fun. And what is this swap magic of which you speak?
  16. Nothing like grandparents to make you feel like a waste of space. . . But hey. . . I'm 20 now. I'll probably be able to get like 3 games or so, plus my friend's getting me a memory card/controller + Wind Waker for gamecube. Probably gonna just toke at a friend's and sail the cel shaded seas. I wished I had people to play in Gear around here. AI's no fun.
  17. I wish Thanatos was as resilient as Ada. . . @Woz I didn't really know my shit in Blazblue, so I'mma take your word for it. I just remember how painful watching good Makotos struggle was. Probably gonna go with Pyschonauts, Okami, and Shadow. Psychonauts because I've heard a lot about it, and Okami because that game is trippy and fun.
  18. I don't know about CP. Not really hyped for it but I know I'll end up playing it. Might walk the walk and actually play Tao this time. Her, Bullet, or Jin. Maybe even the trap. Also not sure how I feel about GG. Ky is fun. Testament is fun. Venom is cool. Justice looks amazing. Persona completely destroyed my execution, though. No idea how I'm supposed to go from timing simple inputs with 1 frame links (probably wrong on this, they're just really tight) for Liz into complex motions and shit for Tao. I have like zero enthusiasm as it stands. Even for UNI. The game seems like it'll be fun but nobody seems to want to give it a shot. Hopefully that'll be a good thing. I can go into my games with a clear head and zero expectations. @Woz - Makoto desperately struggling to open you up in the corner only to barely scrape 4k would like a word with you. I'm getting Shadow of the Colossus for my birthday tomorrow. What other classics might I have missed for gamecube and ps2? @Kaos Theory - Was there any sort of scene already gathering there that we could merge with? Hopefully we can get some fresh mentalities in the mix. Don't really see a point in getting around to shout-outs. Y'all know how I am by now. I would like to thank Ohio for coming out and playing some games. I regret that my proverbial fangs weren't as sharp as they used to be, but I'm starting to realize that it's okay. There's always next time, and the time after that. It's not like I'll get any worse. Good shit to Kyle. Normally I would've played more tactically against your Naoto, but I completely disrespected it because I was baked and out of practice, so I didn't see a point in pussyfooting around, lol. Good shit to all of you who came down. Hopefully we can find our way up to your venue someday.
  19. Kanji made Top 8 in our tournament and also in Summer Jam, where 2 Kanjis made it.
  20. My competitive flame is guttering out. It's like I'm always stuck with option selects and excuses, but even when I'm practiced I'm only in the "zone" like 10% of the time. I feel like it's inevitable that I'm just going to plateau at mid level. I'mma get a new console and train back up in Persona for Final Round/Power Up, but I just don't know anymore. . . I think it's about time to just play and not give any fucks. In other news, I just found out you can synthesize or extract DMT yourself. Whoever wants to join me, we goin' to hyperspace.
  21. Man. . . Tekken is so satisfying. The juggle animations had me doubting but it feels even better than Soul Calibur. The juggle combos seem pretty hard, but they're fun to pull off. Don't know how serious I can get with it, though.
  22. Like I said, she's a gimmick rush down grappling puppet-master with zoning capabilities.
  23. I can see it, since I haven't fully adjusted to the style of movement. Maybe it's just that Armored King's got faster moves in 6.
  24. I'm so ready. Probably gonna show up at Star's house around 6 or so Friday, hopefully we can catch a ride to Milln's for some casuals. I miss playing Persona with people who actually play it.
