I've been caught by a good Kanji utilizing his anti-zoning tools. With Kanji it becomes a mini mind-game from fullscreen, and I have to decide when and where to unleash my maziodyne. He has to decide when and where to block, jump and try to anti-zone. Yeah, he might screw up and eat a couple of lazers, but eventually he'll get me blocking. Then he can take his dash with start-up and get in my face guaranteed, which is where he'll be at his best. His normals might be slow, but when his anti-zoning FORCES you to block them he'll be able to shine. This forces me into a dangerous guessing game where the wrong read leads into great damage and terrifying oki. It's not that it's overestimated, it's that his dp opens up an entire new mind-game off of -whiffs-. You have to decide whether you have the frames to close the distance with the Kanji and a quick enough normal to punish, depending on where and which move he whiffed. Then you have to decide if you want to bait out a dp and risk getting thrown or anti-aired in the process. Spamming it every time one whiffs does not a good dp make. Kanji's a viable character with a toolset any other grappler should be envious of. He can lock down zoners, punish rolls, dps, jump outs, as well as bait out and punish anti-airs. When you can stuff the (apparently) best 2B in game and it's still not good enough, I don't know what you want. It's up to you to utilize them properly.

What makes Kanji balls? He's got a great dp that makes punishing whiffs a risky endeavor, he's got a dash, air dash, movement options, anti-zoning tools, quasi-unburstable combos with big damage, throw set-ups, traps, and okay normals. What more could a grappler desire?

I just struggle with Slab in general. Like you're supposed to be watching Labrys for cross-ups, but if you don't keep an eye on her persona it'll grab you while you're focused on her. It's like 50% of her character is psychological warfare.

Yeah, I need some matches. Like I said before, it's really hard to find people to fight outside of my regular group.

I'm lucky I've got Star and Raiza and everyone, otherwise I'd never have anyone to fight. I have to wait like 10-20 minutes on ranked for a match, because if I get on player matches I'm stuck with: - I've got a decent connection, but not quite good enough to get in. - I've got a great connection, but the room is private. - I get in a room with a good connection, but the people aren't even worth fighting. - There's decent mid-level players with a good connection, but they kick anyone with a high psr. dubya tee eff

Haven't been able to even touch Persona all week. . . But after Friday it's fuckin' on.

Liz's takes 100 meter and for you to have no burst, and you either have to make a really unsafe blunder (a la Akihiko's awakening super at a specific range) or fall for her oki mix-up. Considering her mix-up isn't very intimidating (aside from the giant panel of fuck you sitting beneath you making people panic) unless you can somehow combo into it from her AoA. I'd say it's pretty fair.

Cool shit. Mahamaon oki was actually the next thing on my list to work on. I love how if Akihiko has no burst and he uses his awakening super, that's an instant kill for a Liz with meter.

I like theory talk because it gets your mind flowing similar to discussing tactics and match-ups in a game you actually can play. Me and Naimat had that discussion and while I carried myself like a dumbass, it turned out that Elizabeth's playstyle was similar to what I was predicting, but with slight restrictions. Naimat reminded me I couldn't jump the gun, and it turned out she wasn't exactly how I thought she'd be - but at the same time I had a good idea of how to start playing her when I finally got my hands on the game. Just my two cents. Also, maybe we can make a bit of an MTN event of me and Tad's little faceoff. Drinks, games, n maybe some BBQ. @ all of ya - I think I've been coming across as whiney, and I realized I need to stop sweating the small shit. I may bitch and groan, but I never really have as big a problem with things as it might seem when I'm talking about how frustrating something is. I don't mean to be confrontational, but I usually walk away from our discussions knowing more than I did before. Even if no one else has information to share, simply discussing it gets my mind flowing so I can look at a situation from a fresh perspective. We're a family, yo. We might piss each other off, we might not be able to understand what the fuck we're thinking, and we might not always see eye to eye. But y'all's my nigz. <3
