  1. I can't really answer the latter portion, but as for Noel observing him, recall what she said. She called him "Dark Susano-Oh". Now recall what being observed as something usually entails. If Character X is observed as Character Y, then Character X is therefore seen as Character Y with all the power the latter had that comes with it by the system. If Terumi is seen as the "Dark Susano-Oh" then would he not get a massive power increase back to his days when he housed the unit in question, while at the same time not being bound by the Master Unit Amaterasu? The power is also dependent on the Observer in question. Someone like say Litchi is a terrible and weak Observer, while someone like Rachel is better (as seen with Haku-men) and Noel is pretty much King...err Queen Observer since she is the "Eye". Least, that is how I understood it.
  2. Eh, it's still in a Counter state and nothing about it screams "useful" yet to me. It has lower frames but longer distance which sounds a bit odd to me as well. Maybe it could be of some use, but I sincerely doubt this will make the players use it on a regular basis. Added, Lizzie's meter gain is still not the best thing there is. She still suffers from having to wait out the duration of SP cooldown when using it and her damage without it is still not good. So I can't imagine blowing 50SP only to deal mediocre damage would be THAT helpful in her case. EDIT: I take back my "damage w/o meter is bad" comment. The patch notes indicate potentially better meterless damage so maybe it COULD be better than I am giving it credit for.
  3. What, like 5B Fatal Counter in P4U arcade was any better for a time? For what it's worth, the game can be patched at any point if the 5A buff turns out to be too strong. Course, then I remember how long Yu has been sitting on his throne and shake my head too in disapproval.
  4. I said was "uncharacteristically optimistic" not "blind" XD. Really, until we see it in practice, I am not going to go about claiming she's been rescued. Not yet anyway. We still lack a means of getting that damage in but for now, I wanna follow clsely how things unfold. It's ASW man. They award the most ridiculous of buffs to whichever character by playing darts. At least Yu and Ysuke are taking hits where necessary. Yeah that'd have been nice. But let's be honest, the amount of wrong that P4U2 vanilla Lizzie suffered was massive. The fact that we're getting ANYTHING addressed is an improvement in my book. I'll take baby-steps forward as opposed to a backdash into a chasm if you get what I am saying. Can't you simply be thrown out of those? Then again, I've never seen any JPN player even use it before on any other character, let alone the low amount of recorded Lizzie players, so what do I know. Too early to tell brah. I'm hoping the answer is a tentative "Yes" but like both TheArm05 and Elochai said, we're not out of the FML-tier woods yet.
  5. On the plus side, at least EU didn't have to wait 9 months like the last ASW title. Granted it is digital only and those who do want a physical copy have no other choice but to import, but at least the timing is getting better. Maybe for BB4 we'll actually get a nearly simultaneous worldwide console release (though I doubt it).
  6. You're now imagining Rise with a Growler Field-like counter-projectile move and constantly talking about "devouring" the other characters. You're welcome. Is he? ASW doesn't have a very good track record when it comes to grapplers. CP saw Tager actually good but the new version swiftly made sure he kinda sucks again. Still, as far as grapplers go, I'd rather Kanji be good. One of the few P4 characters I actually like (next to Chie). I'm more worried about how much HP regen Junpei gets at something like 30 points. That shit just sounds fucking scary .
  7. Dude, you missed the most important part. You missed saying "...". Just because you can't hear her, doesn't mean she doesn't speak. The manners on you, I swear .
  8. And it seems like God answered back. Courtesy of Sourenga: -2C: Well, if you can't increase the untech time, then you might as well allow Thanny to move further when activating the move instead for the follow-ups. It might help the Bufu-series more easily connect after it at least. -AWK.Mazio[A]: What was before a good poking tool is now even better. Lower recovery and longer untech time? Sign me up. Grated it IS for Awakening only, but hey, it helps at least. -Mabufu[A]: Faster start-up? Neat. If it is fast enough, it might help to function as an alternative anti-air option as opposed to just using 2B all the time. -Magaru-series: Looks like they realized that most of the damage we can get IS from Garu-loops. So instead of actively nerfing it to force us into looking for alternative damage routes, they made the Garu-loops stronger. And SB Awk.Magaru can potentially be used for even better results since also received a buff to its damage reduction penalty and got increased untech time. -Maragidyne[C/D]: This is actually a VERY good thing. Thanny is not exactly safe when casting the C and D versions. Having him return to Lizzie's position both keeps him safe and allows us to do some interesting set-ups like knocking the opponent away with Maziodyne then Maragidyne [C] to prevent characters like Yu from simply Zio-car into a punish. -Randomizer: What was before a trash move is finally sounding like it could be of some use now. Though I question why we'd need to be invincible after already catching the opponent but maybe it was worded weird or something? Maybe it just means after "catching" a move we can Randomizer, we get the invincibility... All in all, we're still going to burn through SP like crazy but at least we got mostly buffs. Whether or not they ultimately matter in the grand scheme of things is left up in the air for now. But for once, I am uncharacteristically optimistic, if only because I am NOT a good Lizzie player by any means so there may be unforeseen benefits that I (most likely) missed. I may still need to find another character to play but my girl Lizzie is finally given a better chance. Have a go guys.
  9. First of all, thank you Sourenga, Tokkan, shtkn and everyone else gathering up all this info. You guys are awesome. Thank you m(_ . _)m. Second of all, fucking finally, Lizzie! You're sounding much more potent this time around. They even fixed Randomizer's status as the trash move in her repertoire and made it into something actually worth using. I won't go over all the character specifics so I'll just say that she is now sounding like a real character as opposed to something half-finished that every other character in the roster could trample down. Thirdly, hell yes! Get down from your throne a bit Yu! Let us see, just how hard you will fall after this. Finally, I'm curious as to how much the Shadow Version's health has been increased by. "A lot" to me sounds like 1.5x their originator's health, but that's mostly a guess. Still, this ought to help them get more universal use from players including adding actual invincibility for activating Shadow Rampage. So, good stuff all around.
  10. At least he's good at blocking. All I ever seemed to win with is 2C (Fear)>Mind Charge>Raw Ghastly Wail. It saved my ass a lot. Funnily enough, I faced all of 1 Aigis ever in my time playing online. The rest were mostly Yu, Yosuke, Yukiko, Akihiko, Kanji and Shadow Labrys. I've been playing with a theory for the damage part. What if, hypothetically, we could either stack the 2C buff or have it last on a timer? That ought to up the damage at least a little bit. I've already mentioned my take on how her meter ought to be handled, but it is all for naught if she doesn't really have anything worthwhile to spend meter on. But we shall see.
  11. Nonsense. Take your time SD. We will all love you for it.
  12. And yet, according to V-13 when she was presenting Noel's past to Ragna, Terumi himself wanted to be turned into a Black Beast. This is clearly contradictory to his claims during CS where he called it a "catastrophic failure" since Kusanagi is what he wanted, but if he knew that fact during the Dark War (no reason he shouldn't), there is no reason for him to want to be a Black Beast later in the future. Though, we're likely missing a vital piece of information on that end however, since not even V-13 knew why he'd want to do it.
  13. Question: was it ever specified why it is necessary for a Black Beast to have both Ragna and V-13? Or rather an Azure and a Murakumo? I know they gave the explanation of one needing to be the "body" and the other "a heart" but, Ragna has the risk of becoming a Black Beast anyway on his own as shown in his CS Bad Ending and as of CP, Izanami can pretty much make him the equivalent to it (unless of course I am missing something and V-13 was used anyway). So again, why is V-13 needed for this anyway, if a similar result would be created in due time?
  14. Not particularly, no. Terumi's jacket's "tribals" reflect more on his "snake/serpent" theme or perhaps something like "thorns". Least, I've always had that sort of impression. Outside of looks, there isn't much correlation between them and Azrael's Enchant Dragunof. One just looks cool/sinister, the other is an active limiter. As for the world-quake animation, I always just thought of this to showcase how powerful they are. Terumi is this because he was the original Dark Sunano-Oh and Azrael's got this because he is the only one unhindered by the levels of seithr (the man is so strong physically, that he literally does not do any Ars Magus and just punches things really, REALLY hard).
  15. You're thinking of Lizzie for that one. Yukiko's toolset much more dedicated to (and better at) zoning than Lizzie who is supposed to be a Persona+SP-dependent cannon. I will grant you that she is pretty dependent on Konohana-Sakuya for her zoning though, but her damage is not explicitly high unless you do some Fire leveling.
  16. Rise being playable could simply be going off of the fact she was more involved in combat during P4:G beyond simply "You just killed an enemy. Let me tell you the remaining number as if to insult your ability to do basic math". If nothing else, we might as well be happy that we get a playable navigator considering they're really counterproductive if used during the actual gameplay of Arena. But April 24 eh? That's in a week then. Here's hoping for some good news.
  17. And so, even without much proof to back it up, people flooded the site (not DL obviously) with Anti-Ken Amada comments. I'm personally indignant of the little twerp, but if his inclusion is the price to pay for having playable Rise (assuming all this is true) then fine. I'll take the good along with the bad. My lady Lizzie is still here after all and I am more demanding of buffs/further rebalancing that makes her better than having to worry about Ken's presence taking up a slot.
  18. Someone mentioned that one of the Personas was red. When I read this, I immediately thought of Orpheus Telos since that particular Persona is primarily red (with some gold). So either could relate to the 2 P3 Protagonists. I doubt it would be Magatsu Izanagi considering it is less red and more black. But to keep my hype levels down, I will not speculate any more than this. We do have 9 more days for it anyway so we might as well wait. I'm much more interested in how they plan on rebalancing the game instead since certain parties are way to good and others are virtually "LOL too bad". EDIT: OK changed my mind. I found a potentially better candidate. One of the Personas has a rainbow colored projectile? Well does anyone recall the ultimate Aeon persona that Marie's S.Link grants? That would be Kaguya-Hime http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120617200512/megamitensei/images/8/87/Kaguya_hime.jpg
  19. I'm aware of that, but 2 things: 1. One of the general themes with vampires in media is that their "youth" is preserved so as to showcase how unchanging (in appearance at least) they are and how it is both a blessing and a curse (more wangsty stories will make it out to lean towards the latter) in a world built on "change". A vampire that physically ages is not something I've encountered beforehand at least. 2. Perhaps I threw the word "immortal" where it shouldn't be appropriate. A vampire is far from "immortal" as there's several ways they could die (sunlight and stakes being two of the more prominent ones). But going off from point 1 above, if a vampire ages and can die from it, then what's the difference between it and and a human being other than the time it takes for it to happen? Then again, perhaps this is the point Mori is trying to make. That despite technically being different species, vampires like beastkin (Valkenhayn claimed they have well-known longevity) are effectively no different from us. But that would somehow imply that Mori planned this ahead and is a good writer to begin with instead of just pulling it out of nowhere like our 3 newcomers...And maybe I am being presumptuous here since we don't know how Clavis met his end (unless the not-localized Library reveals something about it).
  20. So a question: in the English translations, they claimed Ragna's body has been corroded by the Azure Grimoire to around 50% (well, "half" is what they called it). If that's the case, shouldn't more than his eye and arm have been deactivated when in the presence of Celica? Because no matter how you slice it, half of a person is not equal to a single arm and eye. Then again, that might simply be a sort of "countdown" to indicate just how rapidly Ragna is being consumed. Additional question but, how the hell could Clavis Alucard even age? I'd have thought that being an immortal vampire you'd kinda be at least immune to the effects of aging. I'm not saying he couldn't be killed, that shit could easily be achieved with a spiky piece of wood and a hammer (let alone the Immortal Breaker from Izayoi), but aging is not really something I buy. Did the library ever explain it about him?
  21. There was a blu-ray disc in the LE? Where? But wow, maybe I don't want to look for it if THIS is what it's going to be like. Seriously ASW, way to drop the ball on this LE. Way to go. So much for it being a collector's item that you charged us more money for, when it doesn't even work properly. In a way, this crap is even worse than Extend. Yes yes, the game had it's bugs and errors but at least they didn't randomly rearrange the numbers on the calender or have the CD that came with it have half the songs on mute that came with the LE. Sheesh.
  22. Damn you guys are good. I could barely make out the shape in the blurred video, let alone anything specific like "It is or isn't Kintoki Souji". Guess I'll just have to wait for the 25th. New mode does not have me as interested as "character updates" does. Hopefully this ends up being healthy for the game in the long-term.
  23. Silently prays for Elizabeth buffs If I were a betting man (which I am not) "Exclusive gameplay" can mean either of 2 things to me: 1. The game is being rebalanced. 2. A new character reveal. If you're feeling incredibly gutsy, it could be both. Another potential outcome, though I highly doubt it'll be the case, is that the game is rebuilt/receives an overhaul. Kinda like how UNiB went to UNiB: EXE-Late or how Skullgirls became Skullgirls: Encore later. Both cases take the original and then expand on it to make it its own entity. It is still the original game, but improved upon.
  24. I dunno, nobody seems to have been at each other's throat yet. BB: Personally, I prefer English these days. In CT I liked the Japanese version more since I used Haku-men and back then David Vincent's voice just felt too weird for me. They fixed that in CS and I played with English there for the most part. In Extend I used Japanese though not by choice since the English in it was messed up (not the VAs fault). As of CP, I used English exclusively. While I DO like the Japanese side just fine (in some case prefer it, like Kagura and Bang), the English side just sounds more fitting for these types of characters (hey D.C Douglas and your frighteningly-amazing Azrael). P4A: English. Tara Platt voices Elizabeth and Mitsuru. All I need to keep the game permanently on English and never look back. The fact that they have Liam O'Brien and Erin Fitzgerald now only strengthens their hold on me.
  25. Boo! HISS! No fair, he should be getting a face full of mythic laser goodness like everyone else. Well, maybe excluding Zato-1 considering he can do that move where he disappears into the ground. What about Ramlethal's Transhi (spinning sword overdrive)? Can Faust crouch-walk under that too?
