  1. I wonder. It sounds like Randomizer/Debilitate should override the missiles but then again, Lizzie's own COUNTER Mortal Blow can miss even when activated so who knows at this point. If nothing else Radomizer is at least proving to be an effective WTF move since nobody seems to expect it. Too bad there isn't enough data to go around for it. Then again, we will know when we test it out ourselves on consoles.
  2. Because ASW decided that Lizzie should get the Extend Makoto treatment and be so utterly, completely bad that it would take a miracle just to win. "Hey," said ASW, "remember that slow as hell missile launcher Aigis has that you normally could snipe out with a single move? Well tough shit mucklucks, you now can't hit her out of it at all. Have a nice day". Ow. I'm not joking. Looking at that actually causes me intense pain and fury.
  3. Did they specify what quarter they were pushing for? Because, I cannot really fathom Xrd coming out sooner than winter-time. Spring is obviously a no-go since the arcade version just came out. Fall is likely taken up by P4U2 (even though it is developed by Team Blue I doubt they'd want a competition between their own games) so that leaves November 2014 (my guess) at the earliest they can get a console version out. Then again, considering many have pointed out that the new models are much easier to work with, there's a chance for a pleasant surprise.
  4. I don't know what that's all about outside of wagering a guess it has something to do with Lizzie being unable to fully summon Thanatos in battle since it keeps getting destroyed (the katakana for him gets cut off in the 2nd panel). There's also Chie spamming Tomoe-copter in the 3rd one.
  5. To prevent this from going off-topic I'm gonna bring up something that has been bugging me: in one of the latest matches that Elochai posted, a Lizzie player faced off against an Aigis. Apparently, Maziodyne can no longer hit Aigis out of her rocket launcher special. You can see it here. I dunno about you but I find this to be utterly bonkers considering that if this were P4A, Aigis would be eating a fist full'o loitnin. I know, I know, the rockets traded hit but this is still something that makes me wanna .
  6. Too many to list here but the most prominent ones: -Mashing naked 5Cs. -Throwing out repeated Maziodyne at long range. -ALWAYS going for a Ghastly Wail reversal as an option (then again, what AM I to use as a reversal; the cruddy FA?) -Not utilizing 5B or JB. -Not actually doing combos or any pressure as I played very passive-aggressively with her. The only thing I've ever been able to do under normal circumstances was 5AAA-Mabufudyne(A)-AoA. B-but you recommended him to me after I asked how to unlearn Lizzie in that "How to choose a main thread". I gave a list between Chie, Mitsuru, Akihiko or Yukari and your suggestion (among with others) was him. Akihiko is really mostly convenient since he's changed very little in P4U2 and I can actually practice him in P4A, something which I've come to realize.
  7. Well at this point in time, learning Akihiko is simply a means to an end. I need someone simpler with a better chance to win than Lizzie since I'm trying to drop my bad habits that I picked up while playing her. If I can manage that, I'll go back to her eventually. I mentioned this in another thread, but I love playing Lizzie because she is fun. Enough to make me not care about playing any other character. But that fun has also effectively barred me from being able to approach anyone else, so I need to grow past it. That said, I'd like to know why the minimum damage for SB Ghastly Wail is that much lower, despite costing a lot more than either C/D versions? Does it actually increase if you rotate the stick enough?
  8. Oh boy am I late to the party. So, Ramlethal is being added. Does anyone know when the date for that is or was a date even revealed for it? I dunno why, but somehow, I think she'll be one of the more popular characters once she is released. Call it a hunch of sorts.
  9. He means, he's likely not going to play Elizabeth mainly and instead focusing on Yukari. Can't say that I blame him. I plan on learning Akihiko in the meantime myself unless someone at ATLUS adds Makoto/P3MC to the game. As much as I want to be good with the current P4U2 Lizzie, I feel like I simply can't measure up enough to actually win. Childish though it may sound, but I do want to win on occasion and I feel like I simply can't do that in this game with her as she is now. Not that the realization is any less "painful"...
  10. We lack Koromaru but that's not saying fire is under-represented. We got 3 dedicated Zio users (Yu, Kanji and Akihiko), 2 Bufu users (Chie and Mitsuru, while Teddie has no Bufu skills to speak of in P4A despite that being his primary element in P4), 2 Agi users (Yukiko and Junpei) and 2 Garu users (Yosuke and Yukari). It's looking pretty even. The others are better off just being assorted into their own category. Eh, Elizabeth's goal is pretty ambiguous at this stage anyway. She wants to "free" him, but what that "freeing" entails is completely left unexplained. We could grasp at straws here all day but until she actually does it, we cannot know for certain.
  11. Please bear in mind that, while Lizzie IS a powerful entity on her own, Makoto effectively surpasses her since: 1. He as able to face and defeat her on his own (Yu might have done the same with Margaret or he might have had help, not sure which one ATLUS considers canon). It can also be argued that he's so far the single most powerful Persona-user given his particular circumstances and having obtained the Universe arcana (meaning he understands his place in life and reality as a whole). 2. Lizzie can one-shot-kill Erebus sure, but she can only strike it down once a year. Makoto has been holding him back every day for the last 3 years IIRC and has not let up once. Personally, I'd love for Lizzie to find that alternate solution that does not end up with sacrificing herself or anyone else. Finding a replacement equal to Makoto's powers would be downright impossible at the moment anyway.
  12. I hope so. Though I'll be a bit disappointed if there won't be any more Arena after this one. References are fine, but I would like for P5 to be its own entity. P3/P4 were undoubtedly the most successful of ATLUS' Persona games, but even they have an expiration date. Plus I'd like to see some new faces take up the mantle (unless they're adding in Lizzie in which case I foam at the mouth from joy). Note that him being "saved/free" does not equate to resurrection. There is still the threat of Erebus, though if Lizzie doesn't mind OHKO-ing it annually after she accomplishes her mission, then I there shouldn't be that much of a problem.
  13. For the record, Saya-Izanami calls him onii-sama as well, though for an entirely different purpose than when Noel calls him that. Izanami effectively uses it to taunt and further try to provoke him. When Noel does it though, I don't think he responds or even hears her say it. That said, I'd like for Mori to explain properly the significance of Noel becoming more and more like Saya herself in addition as to why the Murakumo are modeled after his sister. Then again, the exact nature on what Ragna himself is hasn't been explored much and has only now began to come into light. They never met in Remix Heart? Weird considering we're kinda referencing it now at least. But then again, maybe that's a good thing considering the nature of Remix Heart.
  14. I think it's time to face the fact that, despite it giving Lizzie the honor of being the only character capable of inflicting Negative Penalty, it (like most of her moves) is overshadowed by pretty much anything. It can't function as a reversal. It's input would suggest that it is comboable but it isn't unless in a very specific set-up and only from it, not in the middle of. Nor does it give Lizzie that extra layer of safety when she inevitably looses Thanny for a duration. Judging from the last batch of vids I've seen, people are at least attempting to use it. But there have only been 2 attempts and only 1 was a successful catch (which was promptly snuffed out). But not everything looks too bad. I've been watching very intently and, despite the loss of multi-hits and recovery, (A) Maziodyne is a very good poking tool. That (Awk.) Magarudyne>JD could present an interesting way to end those combos since (Awk.) Magarudyne is not great for extending combos and damage. The "nameless" Lizzie was also pretty damn good, capitalizing on whatever opportunity they had (my heartrate quickened the moment they were reduced to a sliver of health only to get back in the fight with SB Diarahan). Granted it's hard to create opportunities with Lizzie but hey, losing only to a PerShoNa is pretty damn good.
  15. AFAIK, no official reason exists as to why he lusts after them. Granted he DOES want to protect them since Noel is a very important piece considering her standing as the Eye and the True Azure successor (see coming to whack Ragna after he frantically tries to take her with him and against Arakune). He also protects Makoto after her fight with Tsubaki to prevent her from falling into enemy (NOL) hands (and good thing too considering...Relius). But if you want a reason why he makes all those advances on them, well that isn't explained. Maybe it's just his omni-sexual character trait. Maybe he likes women who, from his POV, play hard to get. Or maybe, it's only there for us to have some light comedy while the world turns to hell...
  16. I suppose you could argue that if Tsubaki is now worse off then ASW is trying to push people towards Izayoi more. But I guess nobody bothered to remind them that Izayoi is not exactly the better choice between the two to warrant that. IIRC she's still one of the most unexplored characters in the game. Nerfing Makoto even further however, makes very little sense to me. What, did Goro somehow clone himself and now there's thousands of Makoto players of his caliber running around? Geez, why can't they just bring her to CS1-status (minus the glitch that came with her)? I get that they don't want to repeat CS2, but somehow, I doubt this is the best possible way to deal with her.
  17. OK, I got something stuck in my head for a while and I'd like to hear people's opinion on this. So, from the look of things, Lizzie has a much more prominent role this time what with having an actual Arcade Mode story and that PerShoNa is not exactly pleased to see her mucking around. And since we recently learned that this is supposed to be the last entry in the Arena series, what exactly are the chances of Lizzie's quest to "save" P3MC/Makoto Yuuki being resolved here? Somehow, I doubt that Lizzie will go on to make an appearance in P5 (as much as I'd like for her to take the Protagonist role in that one) since I figure ATLUS likely wants to move away from P3/P4 now.
  18. Seconded. It's been long overdue as far a I'm concerned. Also, Haku-men's magatama loss while in the air is pretty damn substantial. On average, he'll easily lose out on 2~4 magatama, depending on how long he plans to stay airborne. Even further downside? People juggling him will produce the same effect so keeping him in the air is now very detrimental to him. By the way, Negative Penalty resistances: am I correct in assuming that the larger the number is, the less of a chance there is for you to be hit by it?
  19. Yeah, I only noticed now (that'll teach me to make replies late at night). AFAIK, no combo that ends with Randomizer or has it during the string exists. I know the glitch, kinda sorta incorporated it but that is gone now.
  20. Last I heard; yes you can combo from it. But you need to be both in the corner and you need to go off of 5A but the timing is incredibly strict.
  21. Hmm, that's an interesting way to put it. But I suppose I can give it a try until P4U2 hits anyway. Most of my problems with Akihiko (like being unable to keep up Lv.3 Cyclone Fist and going into random Corckscrews) can probably be fixed with enough practice. And speaking of practice, Akihiko in P4A is pretty damn close to his P4U2 version so there's the added benefit of my practice not going to waste for the sequel. I hope so. I seem to have bad luck when it comes to breaking habits and I got 5 years my Haku-men scrubbery to cleanse out. This'll be a long journey come March 25th.
  22. I need help and it's a bit of a weird one for this thread. Basically, I need recommendations on how to unlearn my mains from BB and P4A. I spent my BB history sticking exclusively to Haku-men (CT-CSE) and only officially retired him some months ago. In P4A, I exclusively used Elizabeth. And as much fun as I've had with them, I'm afraid they've taught me extremely bad (read: scrubtacular and lazy) habits. To the point I am almost virtually unable to adapt to other characters and their execution barrier. Now, BBCP granted me Terumi which I recently got to try and I really liked using him. He's flashy, damaging but most of all, simple. Absolutely perfect for someone like me who can't normally string 4 moves together against an opponent. However, I am finding my Haku-men habits keep showing up (like say, throwing out random 6Cs as Terumi) so I'd like to know how I can get rid of them. And since I am trying to make sure I don't get tied to just him exclusively, which of these characters (Kagura, Bullet, Azrael and Mu-12) would you recommend to someone like me for sub-status. P4A is a whole other set of problems though. Aside from my own personal inability, I also don't care for much of the cast enough to want to play them. I've been able to narrow it down to Yukari, Chie, Mitsuru and Akihiko but have honestly no idea which one would be a better fit for me when P4U2 hits. As with Haku-men, I keep finding my habits with Lizzie keep showing up and I can't shake them off. That and I'd rather become a better player before I decide to play Lizzie once again since she is a lot worse off in P4U2. Thank you in advance.
  23. See, now I'm gonna have to stop you right there because I played the hell out of both Wild Arms 3 and Hard Corps Uprising, both of which are classified as 2.5D games and I am glad that I got a chance to play them. I can respect your stance, but I hope you have more of a reason to back up your "no 2.5D period" beyond personal opinion.
  24. What? It's just another possibility of the Continuum Shift. Here we see a scenario where instead of tormenting Ragna all the damn time, Terumi instead takes him in as his protege. The result is the video in question. Honestly, if this is all that takes to ruffle your feathers then you need to lurk on the internet more. By the way, is it me, or did Emma somehow learn to sound a lot like Christina Vee? I swear that initially, I couldn't tell the difference. Daggertail also sounds like he got more comfortable voicing Ragna as well.
  25. I know what you were referring to and I still stand by what I said: the models don't give off an anime-like feel. No matter what, it still looks like a video game model moving. Though that might be because I remember that little 5 minute anime trailer that GGX had. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCl1kf699X8. Notice the difference? Also beware: really poor English voices. Oh that's a given. This is the first time ASW even used models like this. There's bound to be a few bumps along the way, but it is safe to assume improvements are going to happen as well.
