It's that bad? I mean, I knew she was barely able to hold a candle to the rest of the cast but this? I didn't think ASW could top themselves but they made a character worse than CS1 Rachel. Congrats. Can't. Niconico seems to hate my guts and refuses to let me have an account. Anyone else watching I hope you share the juicy info with the rest of us.

Chrono Phantasma Story Discussion [fun tentatively allowed again]
Luminos564 replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
Well then it doesn't make sense for them to remove the glossary. I mean, did they run out of space on the disc (doubtful) or are they afraid the Western market hates to read (even though the glossary is entirely optional viewing)? Or did they figure that since we can now hear the story in English fully we'd get more content than the Japanese version if they also included the glossary? Because, it simply doesn't make sense here especially when Mori went out of his way to claim that since CT and CS didn't really explain everything, CP would focus on clearing things up. This is sounding counterproductive to that claim. -

And people wonder why I love Patrick Seitz so much. That line and delivery makes ENG Ragna so much more entertaining. I guess they figured that if they gave us a glossary which spoils/explains XBlaze, people would be less inclined to buy it when it arrives here. It's still a dick move to pull on us, especially since it also removes the other terms specifically related to Blazblue itself. -
But then I'd be betraying the heart of the cards Lizzie. And no offense but I neither understand nor particularly care for baseball. Nor do I hold any special place in my heart for Junpei for that matter. I am likely going to need to change mains if ASW doesn't do a rebalance patch for P4U2's console release, but it certainly won't be Junpei, I can promise you that. Of course, finding that new main is proving more difficult since no character other than Lizzie ever made me smile when playing.
-
Oh crap you're right. I forgot about that. Then again, if Lizzie is basically FML-tier I imagine anything they do couldn't be worse than what was already done to her.
-
ASW, fix this injustice. I don't care how you do it, but there is no reason whatsoever for Lizzie of all characters to be bottom of the barrel here. She deserves better. This is sounding like CS1 Rachel all over again.

Chrono Phantasma Story Discussion [fun tentatively allowed again]
Luminos564 replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
Huh, well "Hakky" is right up his alley then. Really, ideally I'd just have Hazama/Terumi call him "Haks" if I were localizing it, but "Hakky" is no worse or better than either "H-man" or "Haku" IMO. I just chalk that up to "Hakumen-chan" being one of those things that makes much more sense in Japanese but not really in English. Ah. Heh, that is kinda funny in a way. -
Chrono Phantasma Story Discussion [fun tentatively allowed again]

You know, I should be pissed. Made us wait 6 months for a localization and they still couldn't be bothered to proofread the thing. But as long as the Story Mode isn't littered with the amount of problems that Extend had (voices suddenly switching from ENG to JPN, Makoto dialogue replaced by @#$%!& symbols, etc.) I guess I should say "progress"? Maybe when BB4 hits, they will learn to use the F7 button. Out of curiosity, what was Terumi/Hazama's old nickname (or should I call it mockname) for Haku-men? -
*Sigh* They remove the bare legs from Celica and the somewhat exposed waist from Noel but keep Rachel's exposed armpit (as a matter of fact, they zoomed in on it)? Rachel has the appearance of a child. How does THIS not make them aware of certain, unfortunate implications ?
-
Now that I think about it, his balance changes never did raise much discussion did they? It's like he stays perfectly off of everyone's mental radar and bends them into suggestive poses strikes when you least expect it. Maybe he was referring to him being able to do Unit Cookie Dough turnarounds better than Haku-men could? Just because he is comparing two characters, that doesn't mean that the two of them have to play the same way. It matters little though as the balance patch is barely old enough to justify a tier list anyway. I thought they still had problems with some despite the fixes though?
-
Yeah, normally you would unlock Kagura via finishing the Chronophantasma side of the story mode (you don't need to do the other routes). Or you can buy him off of PSN. But don't worry too much. I don't particularly care about Litchi and was only asking since that was a known "mistake" in the JPN version of the game.
-
Can you check something for me then? Was Litchi's intro with Kagura (in English) fixed? Last time, she still had missing lines. Aside from that I don't tend to care too much about audio-skipping in English. I still laugh whenever I hear English Noel say "I'm sick of being called stu-Especially by a moron like you" to Ragna. I would like it if there weren't any audio-skips since I like the English cast, but we can't have everything.
-
Audio-skips? Was this the English or Japanese voice tracks? And how severe are they (please give an example)?
-
Oh joy. And I work both of those days so the amount of time I can have with BBCP will be severely reduced. Question: what do Online Passes even hinder? I hope it doesn't mean that if I get a new PS3 (since my current one is well on its way out) that I wouldn't be able to play BBCP online after already using the code.
-
Don't have it yet. Incompetent lady at my retailer called me yesterday saying "they have the game". I come in today, having taken a day off to celebrate finally having BBCP in my hands and wouldn't you know it, the guy tells me "Super sorry bro, there was a problem with shipping and we have NO CLUE when it'll arrive". Took all my self-restraint not to yell out "Oh you mother[bLEEP]". Now how many shots am I going to need to take to be plastered enough to forget this happened? I don't think 4 will get me there. Honestly, I'd like this to be true. That even with all the nerfs and beatings that Kokonoe got, she's still better than everyone else. The thought makes me smile. Now I might just be able to watch with interest rather than seeing a Kokonoe vs. anything and automatically going "So how quickly will this Koko demolish this victim".
-
Well now, this ought to be interesting then. ASW Gestapo hasn't struck in a while. Going back a bit, you said that 1$ = 1 vote, yes? You may want to rethink on that and just focus on the order you so choose, rather than having the people who donated vote on it. If Skullgirls' campaign taught me anything, is that people will become incredibly vicious if it looks like they are not going to get what they want. Somehow, I doubt you want all that extra drama on your plate.
-
But it is true that CS1 Rachel and Extend Makoto existed though, correct? Honestly, ASW's approach to balancing leaves me worried a lot. It seems that whatever character I take a liking to in 1 version of the game, they go out of the way to make them worse in the next. Every time I hear there's a patch incoming to an ASW title, I have to mentally brace myself for the impact. I fear that may be too late for the timing. I heard that this would be the last P4 Arena, which likely means that ASW can just make the definitive console version and abandon ship to go and work on whatever else. Then again, Team Blue is in charge of maintaining Arena plus Blazblue CP and since there has not been any work done to the next BB project (if Mori is to be believed) then maybe a rebalancing patch isn't out of the question. But maybe you're right. Maybe I should just wait until Fall when P4U2 us scheduled to hit consoles. Worrying about a game and character I cannot play yet does seem a little silly. Like Pssych mentioned brah, those glitches have been fixed (last I heard anyway). That was the arcade version to boot so you can bet that they will always make sure that version is (almost) always 100% free of glitches and bugs. It's the consoles that they have trouble addressing in a timely fashion (some of which isn't in their control admittedly). Anyway, speaking of strictly gameplay I agree with most here: Lizzie's Jack-of-all status is not doing her any favors. It's like if someone took all aspects of a 2D fighter character, mashed them together in an aged blender and threw out the product for sale without even tasting it. Lizzie can do a lot of things. But like both Omni and Elochai have stated, she really cannot exceed in anything or make use of her tools. Can inflict every status effect under the rainbow (barring Enrage which WOULD help against those pesky turtlers). But she cannot capitalize on them since her pressure is poor at best. Can manually enter Awakening? Great. Except her health is horrible and she has no defensive options to survive long enough to make good use of it. Generates SP automatically? Nice. Too bad she cannot get SP on her own like say Haku-men can and suffers the most of any character due to the SP cooldown. Is the only character capable of inflicting Negative Penalty? Awesome. Too bad the move that does that is nigh unusable in practice. *Sigh* I wish I could get my hands on the character already. I think I wouldn't be this anxious if I knew what was waiting in store for me.
-
You know I gotta ask, what are the chances of ASW doing one last re-balance before or shortly after the P4U2 console release? I mean, ASW is not stupid (least I hope not). I'm sure they themselves can see just how much Lizzie has to struggle through just to bust out a win. If it is obvious to us (who can tell she isn't all that good based just on watching some YT footage) then it should be obvious to a trained game developer. Then again, ASW produced Extend Makoto and proceeded to nerf her even further for ver.1.1 of BBCP so what do I know. Maybe we ought to mail our thoughts and suggestions to them in regards on how we could improve her? ... Nah, probably a waste of effort.
-
Omni, please don't misunderstand: neither me nor Elochai believe that getting more SP will fix Lizzie outright. We are fully aware of just how many problems she has and most of them that you listed cannot be mitigated by "let's give her more SP to burn". I only proposed it as a bare minimum solution based on observation and personal educated guess to ASW's intent. Without going into reworking her character outright from the ground up. And something tells me, that ASW is not going to do that for her any time soon and we'd be here discussing all day what we could improve to make her more viable/balanced.
-
Yeah exactly. ASW is asking Lizzie players to burn 50SP to match the damage of what virtually everyone else (sans Yosuke) can do meterless and outright exceed with 25SP. Now, like I said I wouldn't have a problem with this if SP was something that is made readily available to Lizzie. If it were reasonably faster and/or didn't have the cooldown upon using it then I could say that us having to sacrifice 50SP to dish out 3~4K is understandable. But that isn't the case. I'm all for an SP-cannon gameplay, but if that was ASW's intention, then they did not do a good job for it.
-
Dunno. I've heard reports stating that it was possible, albeit with very strict timing. However, no Lizzie player I've seen has utilized it yet so I can't confirm it. Going back a bit to Lizzie's gameplan, I spent my time watching combo vids between P4A and P4U2. You know, whoever said that Lizzie does low damage was absolutely right (IIRC it was Okusan). At least, in comparison to what she could do in P4A. As an example, 25SP in P4A was at least guaranteed to net 3K minimum depending on what you were doing at the time. 25SP for P4U2 Lizzie (at least when Unawakened) barely breaks 2K and you need at least twice that amount to match that damage from P4A. I've come to the conclusion that it wouldn't be such a bad thing IF Lizzie's Invigorate generated SP at a faster rate. If she was something like say Terumi from BBCP, having huge meter gain and having big damage with it and poor damage without, then Lizzie would be much more viable than she currently is. I've made this point before, but Lizzie's SP gain is affected much more severely whenever you use an SP skill or an SB one. Most other characters can just continue their assault after they use theirs and start gaining SP back in no time. Usually in the same combo. But since Lizzie is reliant on Invigorate and cannot get SP on her own (unless we throw in Mind Charge which still applies the SP cooldown anyway) she is forced to wait it out. No offense ASW, but if you want to give us an SP-cannon with Lizzie you gotta make sure we're able to load said cannon with ammo. As it stands, she's far too reliant on a resource she is not able to get very easily. At least not in comparison to everyone else.

Yeah I'm surprised as well. I thought 5B was supposed to have been buffed in this version, not nerfed. Or was that just in one of the loketests? As for the 5D/JD, I'm guessing it is now like that since they can grab frozen opponents. Well, at least JD can. 5D comes out too slow for that honor. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if they didn't make Mabufudyne suck so much. And the move just continues to suck. Well on paper anyway. I still would like to know if doing 3AB>Randomizer could be a benefit. But considering how low-level skill the idea is and that no JPN player is using it, I doubt it. It applies it on whiff IIRC as well. At least, I know it did in P4A. Dunno if they changed that in P4U2 and I am hoping they didn't. It's one of her few saving grace perks.

Aww no need to feel rushed. Take your time. We appreciate all your work nonetheless.
