Honestly; it doesn't. It looks like a game and that's it. Now this isn't saying it looks bad, but it definitely does not looks like an anime (or rather, an anime opening). This may sound weird when I say it, but: anime has a very distinct "feel" to it when viewing and Xrd's opening does not have that at all.

I'm thinking he's noticing the subtler changes to 5C under the 1-Handed Sword Master (2C) buff. Doesn't it get special properties when Lizzie has the buff active?

Mori wants to make BB using the Xrd models? I say let him do it. As much as I love pure 2D sprites I also fully understand that, from a business perspective it is a very expensive and time-consuming process. However, I can also understand TekkamanArk's concerns. Games are a visual medium. Visual aesthetics are the FIRST thing potential players will see. It is what captures their attention first, while the gameplay comes after. If something is not visually stimulating to someone, then all the magnificent gameplay in the world wouldn't help them like it. I too was not exactly enthralled when I first looked upon the models for Sol and Ky in Xrd. But then the music kicked in and gameplay began to circulate so I spent more time adjusting to the models and came to gradually love them. It's worth remembering that while it is perfectly fine to love/prefer something (in this case 2D sprites), change is necessary to help something evolve and stand out. If you cannot bring yourself to like the new, you still have the old and can always stick with that. Now if only someone at ASW hired George Kamitani to draw the models for the next BB. I think then my eyes would burst from the amount of gorgeous.

Doubtful. Even if there is an EU build straight away unlike last time, the EU region is not just a single country. It has more than that and each country has its own set of laws concerning games. Not to mention that the game needs to be translated into other languages for it as well. Mix in the fact that neither ATLUS nor ASW have an EU publisher and you can be expected to wait (at minimum) 1~2 months after the NA version hits.

Well ASW does need to let BBCP run its course in the West since we're only now getting it in March. Plus Fall is right before the Christmas/Winter season, where everyone goes nuts over buying AAA titles so it's a pretty sound decision.

The sad thing is, that had ASW/ATLUS not screwed up so bad with handling the EU version, nobody would even raise a fuss over the region lock of the game. I mean, outside of that, P4A was probably the least amount of time I've had to wait for a localized version of a game (it was, IIRC, a mere week after the JPN version). I dunno if the region lock will make its dreaded return for P4U2, but an ATLUS representative did go out of his way to claim that region locking is NOT a new trend that they are adopting. Of course, this could easily change and the claim could have simply been damage control so take that with a grain of salt. Heh, well the kept the Ultimax anyway. It rolls off better than say Persona 4 Arena 2 anyway so not too bad. Fall release is not too bad though.

Eh, I always figured you could do this by playing off of our awful Shuffle Time FA. Activate Shuffle Time, hold [6] as you're doing it and then after they either jump over or tech it, press 4 for either version since it is doubtful they will run up and grab you after either action. Or does Randomizer/Debilitate work on throws? I'm afraid I dunno the details considering NOBODY uses the thing . Also keep in mind, Radomizer/Debilitate will also trigger if the card that Lizzie tosses out is hit (or maybe if it hits the opponent), not just if Lizzie takes the hit. Well it WAS a "gamebreaker", quite literally so, back when it could glitch the opponent out of existence after an SB Maragidyne .

I didn't know. Then again, I only know a few names and who they play in P4U2. Maybe it cannot really be comboed from? I mean, I know someone mentioned that we COULD combo from it but that the timing is exceedingly strict and the damage not all that big. Or maybe the resulting Negative Penalty doesn't last long enough to take advantage of it. Or maybe it is the unconventional charge input. Maybe even a combination of all 3. It sucks since I was hoping Randomizer could be something very valuable to her. Turns out nobody bothers with it.

I think we've reached the point where we've discussed everything in length to what is currently available. Unfortunately, the videos themselves do not paint a pretty picture. And I hate being the designated pessimist here, but I think we've exhausted all that we CAN talk about. Players like Damosu/Ta provided some new things, but that's about it. The fact remains that Lizzie is scarcely played (or at least recorded) and its even rarer now to see her pull a win. Exactly. I know there ARE players besides Damosu/Ta, but lets be real; almost none have stepped up to the plate to show us anything new. It virtually feels like nobody wants to bother with her and that makes me a rather sad Eldritch Abomination.

Oh Lord, that Zato-1 image left me in stitches. The surgery also seems a bit randomized considering the two links show a different surgery for the same character. This ought to be fun. Hopefully this is just Day 1 impressions. I have a hard time believing Dandy Man Slayer is that low. Then again, I've been wrong before. -

Weeks? Hoo-boy, I wouldn't get my hopes up. If Blazblue and P4U are any indication, chances are there isn't going to be very many HD-quality videos. You might see an odd one here or there, but don't expect a whole plethora of them. High-level play though is much easier to guess. I wager 1~2 weeks until we see some very prominent faces emerging. -
Huh, that's...kinda tame for Aigis to be honest. No, not tame. More like really, really underwhelming. It looks like it should be a regular special as opposed to an SP skill but meh.

Sweet, thanks for posting this. Kinda disappoint that I-no doesn't get the cutscene treatment with Sol, but then again, I suppose his need to pummel That Man to the ground is on his secondary to-do list. Still fun to hear I-no's bleeped out words. I missed those . I find it funny how against Boss-Ramlethal you DON'T want her in the corner. Otherwise she'll just keep busting out her Gamma Ray for good chip damage. But other than that, I really like what she can do. Now if only she was playable somewhere down the line... -

Dunno if intended innuendo or accidental. Either way, I laughed . That would explain his lack of use. I was expecting that. The shifting camera angles can indeed be very distracting (see Mortal Kombat 2011). It should go away once people are used to it. -

Day 1 jitters. I wouldn't pay much attention in regards to who is OP at this point. Just enjoy the game for now and worry who is OP 2~3 months from now. Now with that out of the way: HOLY CRAP I WANT THIS GAME IN MY VEINS! Everything is looking great. I'm surprised how many Sols there were too. I'd have thought Ky or Zato-1 would be the more used ones. -

Wow, Haku-men REALLY doesn't gain meter much in the air anymore. I wasn't expecting the impact of that nerf to be that big but yeah, the meter gain slows down to a crawl when he's in the air. Even worse if he's being air-comboed. Which is likely going to suck for him since his air-dash is the best movement option he's got. Dunno if this will outright stop Unit Cookie Dough damage but time will tell I guess.

How about if Mind Charge actually forced Awakening at whatever current health you have for a limited time? Considering all of Lizzie's specials are, technically, SP skills from the Persona games, it makes much more sense for them to get suped-up by doing this. You could call this a "Forced Awakening" state and balance it by not allowing this mode to come with a free 50SP. As a bonus, you could assign Mind Charge to the A-version (236236A) only leaving the 236236B version for a brand new, actually useful super (I vote Pralaya). This would also remove SB Mind Charge because, lets be honest: nobody even uses the thing. The only bad situation I've come to notice with this is, if you do hit the point for the actual Awakening while already in Forced Awakening, the game won't recognize it and will not give you that free 50SP but that could be mitigated by giving Lizzie better Invigorate gain. Her Awakening supers do need work, particularly Ghastly Wail D-version. It has no use whatsoever currently. It can't be comboed into nor can it be used as a reversal like C and SB versions can. It doesn't deal more damage than either of them to boot, making its presence in her movelist a waste, much like the current Mahamaon and Mamudoon.

Holy disintegrating babies Batman! That ending was pretty damn brutal. I wonder if anyone's got a translation on what that thing even was? It looked like some really suped-up nuke but considering this is the GG-verse it could easily have been some kind of Gear or whatever. That said, I agree that Valentine is a lot easier for a boss character in comparison to say I-no. Granted, I-no was never all THAT difficult, but Valentine likely won't hold a candle to her as a boss. -
Pfft, you guys are so lame. Orpheus and Messiah? Don't make me laugh. Clearly, Makoto's Persona ought to be Mara. Man spends 3 years as an immobile, giant locked door after getting so much booty in his own game, he starts to develop urges. Plus, who wouldn't want to see a literal dickhead riding a golden chariot in a fighting game?

To be fair LoL, or rather Riot Games, needs to juggle and balance over 100 characters for their game. ASW has little more than 20 in BB and the competitive scene for LoL is HUGE, so they need to balance constantly (even if it is kind of a piss-poor job). They're also pretty good at realizing when one character is barely used (like Karma) so in order to fix that, they relaunched her with a complete overhaul. That said, they also cannot seem to grasp how balance Evelynn at all. Last 4 patches they've been doing nothing but trying to nerf her because every time someone finds something powerful about her. QFFT.

I just thought it was ASW's, rather messy, way of forcing the game to be more "on the ground" as opposed to "in the air" for the combos. Though mentioning Izayoi, it might indeed make her game a lot weaker as I don't recall her being on the ground all the time for her most damaging stuff.

Feel free to bring it on in March pussycat . It'll be a welcome change to my Extend experience, where it seems all I ever did was fight Ragna, Jin and Lamb-chops. I need some fuckin' variety. Course, I'm kinda without a main at the moment so I need to pick carefully this time. Haku-men's likely to be in his CS2 tier place at best, CT tier at worst so that's out. I hear Bullet and Azrael are getting better though... And I re-read Mu-12 after people explained it. Honestly, even if Origins is not armored all the way through, the invincible start-up should help it serve as a "get off me" tool. But I guess we will see.

Hmm, overhead. I once suggested that j.C be made an overhead move in P4A but was immediately shot down because apparently it'd be "too good, dood". AFAIK, it still isn't an overhead in P4U2. I guess the suggestion isn't so bad now eh?
