  1. It was kind of weird, but it went from Sho to Minazuki to back to Sho. His gameplay doesn't look particularly unique or amazing, but it looks very close to what I want in a CQC character with a good set of tools overall. When Minazuki was released I thought I was more interested in him, but he is more 'balanced' and 'consistent', which aren't things I wanted in a character. Plus I prefer to punch people out by myself than to rely on a cheap flying doll summoned out of my arse like the rest of the cast(no offense to Akihiko players, I used to main him) That being said, I'm also interested in Labrys due to her changes from P4A making her more fitting to what initially caught my interest about her, so I'm gonna try her out too.
  2. I'm as ready as I can get. Hype for trying all sorts of Sho stuff out, since there really aren't a lot of Sho players.
  3. Pretty Sho the puns are a mandatory requirement of being a Sho player by this point. I mean, between Yu and me, I actually fairly enjoy them, but I understand that not everyone can have a good shotime with Sho.
  4. I sadly don't have the game yet, so I was wondering if someone could confirm if Sho's SB Destruction Fang/J.236AB has the same properties as Minazuki's? What I mean is, would it be possible, albeit height dependent, to link 2A(or even 5A) after it with some strict timing? Edit: I mean on air hit, btw.
  5. How about we NOT nerf anyone and instead buff low tiers so that they're comparable in strength and more enjoyable to use? I don't know about you guys, but I prefer games where characters are strong and fun to use rather than everyone being Makoto tier.
  6. If we're talking about how it would work out in P5, the current format for Persona games still works fine even if Sho ended up the MC. Let's be honest, they don't really care much anymore for the MC's personality to be 'built by the player' since the games pretty much force you to either be nice and make bonds or slow down your gameplay progress by 90%. With that in mind, Sho is still unexperienced when it comes to 'people' in general, and he has a terribly solid backstory to go along with him thanks to his past and P4U2's story, so I think he could work just fine as Pershona 5's MC.
  7. I HOPE THAT IS CANON I WOULD BE SO DAMN HAPPY
  8. What would I give to get his old 2B back, man.
  9. NOT joining the discussion, but I want to point out Hakumen's status in CP is overrated and his damage is not free. Meterless his damage is pathetic even out of a 3C CH, and the only way for it to get high is by burning IN THE LEAST 4 stars, though 5 is optimal Also most of his normals suck. Just leaving this out here because everyone seems to look at Haku's damage and forget most of his tools got nerfed in CP.
  10. Tsubaki needs a lot of shit, nobody ever denied that. The problem is you hating on every good character because yours is sitting inside the garbage can. I never played Tsubaki, true. A lot of people didn't. But a lot of people played low tier characters either in BB or somewhere else and understand the pain. Azrael, by design, needs the stuff he has, and under his hands they aren't as broken as they might sound if taken out of context. With other chars they might be broken, such as a char with a run type dash having an easily accessible +5 normal. That would be silly, but it isn't the case here. Instead they're good and solid tools that allow him to play his game but don't make up for the weaknesses he has by design. He's a strong character while having glaring flaws, which implies smart design choices. He's a well designed character no matter how salty some folks get because they actually get punished for mashing buttons when fighting this guy. People, please stop bitching about good characters just because yours is ass. Scream for your char getting buffed instead of everyone else getting nerfed. Nerfs are bad, they make games boring. People don't like losing options and that should be kept only for situations where you can't balance something through change. I really didn't want to suddenly derail this admittedly already useless thread, but I'm just so tired of people picking every little reason they can get to complain about one of the only relatively fair top tier chars this franchise ever got.
  11. If you played the character you would understand why he both needs those and why they aren't as good as you make them out to be.
  12. Hilarious to point out that due to Kagura's air hitbox, you can follow up air 5D>Hells Fang>Follow up with 5A. Might be useful if you got a random air hit into Belial Edge and want to covert into more damage.
  13. Personally I mash Grim Reaper until my balls drop. I know that sounds stupid, but Grim Reaper(not EX though EX also works) is actually pretty fast for its range. Depending on the situation I do 3C though. One weakness I noticed Gordeau has is that he can't properly control the range just past 2B but not far enough to be at the tip of 5C's hitbox. It's a pretty complicated situation, but it's really the only place I ever feel threatened.
  14. Thanks a lot, you guys! That's exactly what I was looking for. It's much easier to learn a character's combos through knowing the standard paths rather than remembering each individual combo. I totally get what I should be going into now, and I'm sure the rest will come with experience and experimenting.
  15. Yeah, I did get a win or two so I got the basic idea of what to do, but it just isn't the best thing to start with when learning the char lol I got that combo you posted down. The basic idea with her combos is to go into 66C>22B enders until you have less than 5 bullets or you're out of KDs, then go into 66C>22C and time the reload, right? What about 5A\2A starters you can't confirm until it's too late to go into 412B? Just suck it up and end with 214A\B? Do 2C>5C jump cancels J.ABC\J.BAC into 66C ender? Sorry if I'm asking so many questions, I checked the doc but there are so many combos listed, and I'm trying to know the basic routes I can go into before getting into more specific stuff.
  16. Thanks, I will give that a read. I had a few matches with her earlier today, but it was against Waldstein so I felt opressed and couldn't get a good feel of her yet. She's fun from what I got to experience, good combo of mobility and range, and gun is pretty nice for spacing. Still need to get used to the timing of reload and advanced combos, though.
  17. So I'm considering picking up this char as my sub to go with my Gordeau main. What are some basic tips and combos(or combo theory) I could make use of just to get me started?
  18. 5C>236AX2>2B>5B>J.B2>J.C>3C>2C(1)>236BX3 for 3225 Highest damage I got out of mid-screen 5C so far. Was surprised to see 2C(1) comboing into 236B so perfectly. Also required in chars like Eltnum since 2C(1)>236A doesn't combo into her for some reason. Nanase also requires a dash before 2B, otherwise 5B doesn't connect. Buff 5B's range pls.
  19. Man, we need Kouma from Melty Blood in this thing. Give me a grappler that isn't the Hulk. I don't know if this sort of thread is allowed since it's more casual than anything, but don't quote me on it. I will just roll with it until a mod says it's no good.
  20. I tested this route, but I don't really like the damage you get from it(a bit smaller than what I get out of 5B linking). That being said, you wanna do 236B instead of 236A here since it ups the damage for whatever reason(either proration or repeat proration, but no real idea)
  21. I wish I had known you can link stuff from 6B rather than being forced to cancel into 22A to combo after it earlier lol I tested stuff, and if the startup listed on Reio's post is correct then you're IN THE LEAST, at +11 on hit from 6B. I could link 66C from it, albeit a bit tightly. 5B link into it is super easy. For extra points, you can do 2C>6B after it for extreme swag. Trying to find optimal routes out of that because I wanna look cool while being top tier.
  22. Hmm, I got 3195 from 5C>236AX2>2B>5B>J.B2>J.C>3C>2C(1)>236AX3 I tested stuff like 2B>5C, or doing 2B instead of 2C at the end, but they all seem to have rather harsh proration going for them. I also tried replacing 2B with 2C at 2B>5B, but for some reason it does less damage despite better proration. I'm honestly quite confused by this game's scaling system, but I will keep trying to max out damage anyway. Edit: Got 3201 by doing 5C>236AX2>2C(1)>5B>J.B2>J.C>3C>2B>236AX3 Could imply there is some sort of repeat proration system going on here, but maybe it's just me not knowing how to use this proration system well enough yet.
  23. So what's the max damage you guys got out of a mid-screen 5C without meter? I've been getting that starter often because that thing's hitbox is a bit silly, and I'm trying to maximize my damage from it.
  24. That is the best thing lmao. This game's autocorrection never ceases to amaze me.
