Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION Gameplay Discussion Thread
Dreiko replied to Setsuna's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Here's a new (I think) image with the console game menu: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BzbmIVHCEAE4UlF.jpg It turns out to have an actual challenge mode, making it less bare bones than UNIEL. I guess it makes sense since this game is much likelier to sell well. -
No, I didn't say let you block in frkz, I said let you block during a frkz DASH. Like, mid-dash. It's not specified but like, after you input the dash you can somehow still block thanks to 2D.

Lots of Bang info to be found here: http://www.famitsu.com/cominy/?m=pc&a=page_fh_diary&target_c_diary_id=87377 Notable things skimmed from article: -2A>2A Revolver action gone -5A>6C Doesn't combo any more -2D Jump cancel on block removed -5D Stagger removed, is now jump cancel-able and special cancel-able -j.C > j.D combos -New Rapid cancel pose : http://www.famitsu.com/image/33524/SS6V3MvG2DAf9nJF1EV796CC62o7y42j.jpg -New air bumper location (one of which spawns right on top of Bang): http://www.famitsu.com/image/33524/DRtDpZ92hkh9q6Ay7njvLCc9t85N98ND.jpg - "Zan" seal makes Bang "able to block mid-dash" during FRKZ. (unclear wording as to how specifically it works eg. if it lets you barrier cancel FRKZ dashes or if they have guard point or what)
-
2D jump cancel on block gone, sadness. 2D seal on the other hand makes you block during FRKZ dashes. Not sure exactly how that works, if the dash will have GP itself or if you can just block by barriering or what. Article isn't specific enough.

According to the article posted above, he lost his 2A2A gatling and 5A>6C doesn't combo any more. It's not all buffs. In context with everyone ELSE though, he's not too shabby, yes.
-
Ok some some bittersweet stuff. 2A>2A gatling is gone and 5A>6C doesn't combo any more (maybe fatal only). jC combos into jD now though.
-
Best buff is the rapid cancel pose he now does lmao! http://www.famitsu.com/image/33524/SS6V3MvG2DAf9nJF1EV796CC62o7y42j.jpg

Forum etiquette, to prevent clutter and whatnot you're supposed to just edit stuff in. Unless of course it's times like this. :D RAPID CANCEL POSE!
-
Double post cause screw the rules: New heap of info about Bang: http://www.famitsu.com/cominy/?m=pc&a=page_fh_diary&target_c_diary_id=87377 Bang now has a RAPID CANCEL POSE! http://www.famitsu.com/image/33524/SS6V3MvG2DAf9nJF1EV796CC62o7y42j.jpg

Yes, this is accurate. I think what they mean is less that Bang "sucks" and more that he is weak "due to being in a game with so many so very good chars", if that makes sense. Bang is fine, there's just way stupider chars in this game so he falls by the B-tier side. Usually, the reason why people list Bang in B tier is because he has terrible matchups against a lot of the top tiers due to his lack of good defensive options. If you know what you're doing with him of course you can win and he has the tools for the job but the demands from the player to make hard reads are much higher versus Valk where he simply has unreactable mixups. Bang doesn't have that kinda stuff, he has to risk getting his face chewed to do anything, that's what makes him B tier. B tier doesn't mean he sucks, just that he has to risk more to do well.
-
Cause to be top tier you have to be beyond merely "solid". What you describe is reasons for why he isn't considered bottom tier or worthless. To be top tier you need to be "absurdly exceptional" at what you do.
-
Yesssssssssssssssss yes yes! Oh yes. Special cancel on hit means 5D>CT is a thing. Yes!
-
Bang, Tsubaki and Arakune were mid-low/low so their buffs are deserved overall, Noel and Ragna too, albeit somewhat less. Tager is Tager so he'll never be very good it seems, sadness. As for the top, Litchi is definitely hit hard, Hazama seems least scathed, will have to see how Rachel's wind nerf affects her, her other buffs are definitely nice, specially the bat sword Iris and dual hit corner lobelia. All in all, it still doesn't scream "broken" to me, not quite.
-
Don't forget ground bumpers for Bang. It's basically one series of FRKZ level unreactable mixups per knockdown for the cost of a nail now. :D
-
I already have multiple ideas. 2C>bumper>cross up before they recover so they won't roll away>IAD j4B>land on bumper>crossup into 5A/9j2C/2A. Stuff like that. Basically, if spaced right it's like any and all mixups you can do from a ground frkz dash. Stupid good XD.
-
6D also makes the dashes have projectile invuln based on an earlier confirmation and the command grab does 300~ more damage and ends quicker giving you better oki after it. 5D stagger also seems gone, wonder what they'll give that move to not make it basically punishable on hit lol.
-
I see, this blows. I dunno if JP people complained about us lagging up their games or what so they decided to do this.

Any news at all regarding a fix of the region segregation issue? I've been out of the loop for a while now (ever since US ver came out).

Maybe we can make a skype group for this game for the purpose of match-making. Not sure how good the netcode is but even if it's great, being able to fight people close to you as opposed to people across the country is always better anyways. -

I thought they said Dokuro chan would turn the game into MK. Ah well, still glad she's in in SOME capacity. -

Hey there folks, after enough trepidation I decided to get this after all (Selvaria put me over the edge, even though I'll main Shana :P). Looking forward to some good games and stuff. -
I input IADs as 96 as opposed to 866. One fewer input so easier to do it as quickly as possible.
-
Bang has no defensive tools that are particularly good outside of Ashura. You just have to, if not "not get hit", hit them until they die before they get a chance to do anything. This is how a lot of matchups work in this game. Basically, just buff your onslaught of mixups and pressure, save your burst, use counter assault and get good at reading when to do 6D and when to jump out cause they're trying to grab your 6D.
-
http://youtu.be/v_lzDl6_Y1k?t=1m This is what it looks like.
-
6D is the only punishable one. 5D you have to IB to punish and 2D he can jump cancel on block.
