  1. I still think this Elizabeth is better than P4U Elizabeth. Her improvements just don't matter much in the grand scheme of things since some of the other characters got better as well. It would at least seem like Elizabeth players got an improved "quality of life" (for the lack of a better term). Wasn't P4U similar? I mean, I almost always went for fear+paralyze in the corner, for example. There was little reason not to do it since it gives you such a great advantage. Status ailments are just the name of the game with this character imo. I can somewhat agree on the damage comment though, but I'm not sure if that'll be one to stick around. I think there's still unexplored combo routes. I even saw a Liz player do garu elevator in a recent video. There're even players that are using 214B in combos now. I'm sure we'll be able to squeeze out more damage with Liz when we actually get to hit the lab with her. To be quite honest, it's not only combos either. I've only seen 236 oki once since P4U2 has come out; it's a really strong tool and no one uses it. I'm sure there're a lot of setups that players are sleeping on. With that being said, the console version is out in only 11 days. We'll be able to try whatever we want soon.
  2. I don't really like linking long videos from Nicovideo, but no one uploaded these to YT and I think the Liz matches are good: 8/9 Joyland: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm24240864 5:14 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Narukami 7:17 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Yosuke http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm24249175 6:29 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Aigis 8:57 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Aigis http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm24255345 0:00 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Aigis 3:07 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Aigis 5:41 - Hiyuki (EL) vs. Aigis 8/2 Osaka Umeda: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm24184323 0:00 - Liz vs. Kanji 4:24 - Liz vs. S.Kanji 7:20 - Liz vs. S.Yukiko

  4. Well the character select screen refers to one as Shadow Labrys (the one w Asterious) and one as Shadow-Type Labrys (the one w Ariadne). I don't think the differentiation is too difficult.
  5. 1 - The additional frames of landing recovery will still apply if you shielded the attack while you're on the ground. It's not exclusive to air shield iirc. 2 - The only difference between HC and CH is which button you pressed. A attacks give you CH, and B/C gives you HC.

  7. GGs to PSN I guess. Akatsuki is sooooooo fun!
  8. A has the fastest recovery at 71f, B is 95f, and SB is 107f. I'm not sure if SB tracks, but it does go really, really fast and flies across the screen. I don't recall if 214B goes forward, but 2C moves farther forward as of 1.1 iirc. 214AB's recovery is an issue, but it's a somewhat useful tool at neutral. You can call people out doing stuff fullscreen. I suppose the recovery is the price of having a tool like that.
  9. A has faster startup, and short freeze time. B has slower startup, and long freeze time. In awakening, they startup faster and do more damage (not 100% on the damage, but I believe that to be true). Players used SB since it combined the startup of A with the freeze of B. So in comparing the 5B FC route the 11PSR Liz player used to the 5B FC route that Damosu used in his combo video, I'm led to believe that going for the 214B route might be better. You're spending the same amount of meter for both combos (25SP in this case), but the 214B route does about 600 more damage. Longer combos seemed to drop if the Liz player went for 214B, assumingly because 214B is too slow. I suppose we'll have to play around with it when the console version comes out. Btw, if you know who this Liz player is, let me know please. He's too good to be unknown lol.
  10. It seems that some Japanese Elizabeth players are starting to use 214B in combos. I'm not exactly sure if these routes are better than their 214A/AB counterparts damage wise (Damosu's corner routes are slightly different), but it's at least interesting to me to see that 214B is even being used at all. One example combo is jB>1HSM 5C(2)>2C>214B>2C>236AB>5B>2B>jC. It did 3.1k~. I've also seen routes with 214B off of 5D FC as well. One of the Elizabeth players who uses these routes can be seen in this video (this particular Liz player is good too, so I would say the video is worth a watch anyway). The 600 odd PSR Liz in the other set of Osaka Umeda videos does combos with 214B as well.
  11. GGs to everyone who joined my lobby tonight. PSN has been kinda quiet lately.
  12. Dust, which is the D button, is very similar in function to P4U's AB. For example, 5D in GG is a universal overhead, and 2D is a universal low. As you're aware, 5AB in P4U is a universal overhead, and 2AB is a universal low. Just like 5AB in Persona, 5D in GG launches the opponent and you can do an air combo (Dust gains a wallsplat in Xrd, like AB~D in P4U). I wouldn't necessarily say that the inputs in this game are too strict. I haven't had any issues with inputs. The gap between tiers in GG isn't that large. Any character has a good chance at winning in this game. I believe that everyone would corroborate this opinion. +R is my first competitive experience with GG, so I can't really tell you how different it is from AC. I don't think it's that much different, but playing the most recent version would be advised if you're going to be competitive. I know that Justice and Kliff became playable, balanced chars in +R. Can't really comment on the combo question. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  14. I didn't know about this part. It explains a lot of "I swear I switched blocks!" moments though. Thanks for answering my question!
  15. So it has occurred to me that I totally don't understand how shield works. So I'm going to ask: how exactly does shield work? It's a bit confusing because there are times when I will be holding 4D before I'm in blockstun, and then when I actually get hit, the game will give me guard shield (and therefore I can't switch blocks and end up getting guard broken, etc). Does holding D any time after you've entered blockstun activate guard shield?
  16. Anyone wanna play a quick FT5 or something? I wanna grind w/ my day 0 Akatsuki!

  18. There's a thread for that! http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5165-p4a-elizabeth-self-improvement-and-critique-thread/
  19. I second this. I'd also like to mention that 22C is an okay option to use if you're locked down & have a small amount of breathing room. When Hilda is blocking Azhi, you can pretty much gain some ground against her. I wouldn't really feel gungho about throwing out 6C either since it has considerable startup. It's not a bad option at all, but you could definitely get blown up for it. The reflected projectile doesn't travel fullscreen either .
  20. GGs to everyone I played today. I suppose I'm getting better .
  21. GRD Vorpal occurs when you have more GRD than your opponent after the countdown on the grid. You get bonus damage & the ability to chainshift. Also, in regards to that CS > veil off combo route, I'm still having trouble getting it. When I walk back and do veil off, the opponent flies over my head, and they tech immediately after. Does it even have to hit the opponent?
  22. How're you guys hitting xx>jC>j2C>jB>5C/2C in the corner? I can somewhat get it midscreen but I can never get it in the corner. Just wasn't doing it early enough, woops. Nice combo findings though!
  23. I have a 1v1 lobby up. Someone come through and body my terrible Chaos.
  24. Not sure if this is the max meterless damage in the corner, but I don't think I have a more damaging combo: 5B>2B>236A>5A(whiff)>66C>623A>forward jB>jC>j2C>2C>236B>623B You get 2873 damage. It's kinda hard to time 5A whiff > 66C though. Edit: LordSpectre's route is arguably easier and this combo only does 12 more damage. I guess you can go for it if you want to optimize, but "guaranteed damage" from completed combos is always nice.
