whoa whoa whoa, read the Guide, guys! damage does not increase with higher guard bar, it only decreases with lower guard bar. (also read what i edited in, above.) so yes, there is no guard breaking in GG like in BB. (but there are unblockables!)

A-Ragna: it's not just one factor, it's (likely) a combination of his gravity factor/rating, PLUS his enormous hitbox, plus the positioning of the cleanbox (or whatever it's really called, the clean hit hitbox/"target"). actually, since you asked about clean hits, i decided to pass along the pictures of each character's clean hit hitbox(es) from the AC mook: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/rtl42/AC%20Clean%20Hit%20Hitboxes/ don't ask me why some characters have 2, and don't ask why they are where they are. that's just what the mook shows (more or less; the picture in the mook is kinda small and not so high-res so i was kinda guessing a bit when i drew those squares on the sprites). RedDraken: the guard bar is partially explained in the Guide (top-left on the forum "menu") in the "Charts Only" section. However, what's not explained is that when the guard bar increases to the certain point where it begins flashing, the next hit will automatically be a counter hit. So in particular, a full guard bar doesn't have any special effect, except that (most likely) the next SEVERAL hits will induce the counter hit effect. In general, the hitstun incurred from an attack increases greatly when the hit is counter hit, but what's notable is that if the opponent is counter hit in the air, then the untechable time will be MUCH MUCH longer than usual, even to the point where it is effectively completely untechable. this allows you to do really stupid combos that should basically kill the opponent if you know what you're doing.

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10981102 Fio (LI) vs Chin (HK) why does Chin keep backdashing right from the beginning? I'm not really familiar with the match-up

you can do it; what video was that?

also, there are a few attacks can be SBed that you may not have realized at first: - Anji's On - Potemkin's Heat Knuckle - Robo-Ky can SB his own self-destruction super and his overheat (do a Youtube search for "robo-ky Slashback") - Faust can SB his own "Shichousha Zen'in Service" (the explosion follow-up to the "homerun" FB follow-up to his scalpel pull), which allows him to combo afterwards ============================== Kamui: although that's true, Eddie does have at least a couple of block strings that lead into a corner unblockable involving the puke (D) attack and an FB drill, IIRC.

yeah you can do this with various special moves that end with a 6+H or 4+H input -- you can even do it with Slayer's bite.

Spark, thanks for writing up the CS guide! i just wanted to make a small point, which i'm not sure is "obvious" cuz i don't remember if it was in CT or not, but 2A and 5A chain into throw (if my memory isn't playing tricks on me). if someone can just confirm i'm not imagining things that'd be great, but based off my memory, it feels the same as the 2A-6A gatling. and speaking of which, it would be interesting to know if j.A gatlings into air throw or not. anyways, if someone can confirm that for me, then I'll edit that into the guide.

oh you know what, i didn't even notice the date, it says jan. 7th no wonder. thanks for pointing that out lol, question withdrawn.

http://www.youtube.com/user/gamecenterlinlin just stumbled across this today, it's nothing fantastic but it has recent GGXXAC (and BBCS) and looks like it'll be updated still. just something to browse if you're bored. (also, Gura's Baiken and TOOL's Zappa show up once or twice, if you recognize the names.)

btw, going back to the topic of match videos, did anyone else see Film's Hakumen from the tournament matches at this site: http://s1.shard.jp/contractor/intokyo/index.html -> Movie -> first (only, so far) link (he only shows up in #12, his partner OCVs the other side in #9) i was wondering what was up with his combos. he kept going for Zantetsu, and several times seemed to stop his combo (as opposed to dropping it by accident). i don't think he usually misses his combos, so i was sorta assuming he was anticipating a burst by the opponent, but there were some times where i really had no idea what he was doing/thinking.

thx for the correction, that was supposed to be a dj.2A. what "lab work" is there to be done? the game's been out for months in Japan, most combos are fleshed out. one thing to work on is iad follow-ups to: Enma -> sj.C, falling sj.C |> ... there was one match vid with Shadow where he legitimately followed-up with something like ... iad.j.A or iad.j.2A, but it seemed to require the corner. anyways, i don't think you can do 3C, 5C but i could be wrong on that, i haven't actually tried, myself. iirc you can do 3C, 2C, but that's only really worthwhile in the corner as far as I can tell. SimpleKiss: by all means, if you have 4 magatama, go for 3C, Renka (1) -> Enma -> etc. i was just trying to point out what could be done with less than 4. anyways, just based on vids and some other players i've seen around where i play (which isn't famous, btw, but there are other Hakumen players), hit-confirming 2A into Renka -> Enma -> air combo seems to be the new staple combo.
-
if you have no magatama, then it's pretty much just 3C, 3C. if you have one magatama, then you can do: 3C, 2B -> Guren, dash, 5A -> j.A, j.B -> dj.2C, dj.C with 2 magatama, you can link to Renka, but that doesn't lead to anything unless you're in the corner, in which case you can link a 2C after Renka to get a corner air combo. everything is non-counter hit, btw. i haven't paid attention if there are specific 3C CH combos or not.

wait, tuesday + Thursday in America? or Tuesday + Thursday in Japan?

try looking around for people in Matchfinder section, that's what it's there for.

SLiC, isn't: http://www.stickam.jp/profile/jonioggxx only for streaming videos? any vid you saw earlier won't be there, now, i think.

for christ's sake, just because someone posts a tier list for the sake of analogy doesn't mean EVERYONE has to start making their own tier list >=| knock it off already.

totally wrong forum, but anyways... If you have the game for a console, then when you pause during a match or in training mode, you can access the move list for the characters on-screen (although the names of the moves are missing ). If you have a legal copy of the game (!), then you should have the instruction manual, which lists most of the moves. Finally, for ALL of the moves plus various details, go to "Guides", at the top left of the forum page (or you can also access it from the site's front page), click on GG AC, then go down to the Frame Data, and pick a character who's movelist you'd like to see. and in the future, please use the existing stickied threads in the relevant forums.

in the video, his name is always written "Atsushi?" so it's hard to say...
