  1. btw you can either 6P the scalpel, or block -> youshijin. 6Ping it is like saying "hey fuck you" and getting a bit of damage, but not much else. blocking and countering with youshijin usually (always?) scores you a counter hit, so you should be able to follow up somehow -- but even if he's too far away, it gives you a chance to run in safely. in addition to poking and the occasional sakura, you should also use Ouren to make him extra cautious and psyche him out into giving up a pressure sequence. i mean in a sense, the same should happen with the threat of you countering with Sakura (in psyching out your opponent), but because Ouren is long range, it can really mess with your opponent about how they should approach you. but don't forget, Ouren has no invincibility, so it can get beat out by several moves (6P, 5K, 2K, 2S, of course air throw) if he anticipates it. as always, with Baiken, blocking is a mix-up
  2. http://www.norematch.com/ggxx/ggxxacvideos.shtml do a text search for "Luck" (i think that should get all the vids they have of him) btw whatever happened to Bell, the baiken player who won the G3 (newcomers?) tournament during GG Slash? guy just up and disappeared when AC came out, as far as i can tell.
  3. maybe you should try writing it in katakana as エルベンシャドー? then they might get the hint. tough match with the may, there, and it was a real crusher to see May's jackhound (magically) beat out your chop FB for the lose. what a wacky game. it's crazy that Akira's Axl should take the newcomer's tournament, too. i mean wtf, there were some "oldtimers" in that tournament, yet the highest-placing "oldtimer" was kiisha's faust at 3rd? btw HONNOU there was a "shin tokorozawa ino" in one of the blocks, was that you? and gj to HINATELOVE, hopefully they'll put up more vids later
  4. man, so much BA vs MA at a-cho these days, but koto holding out against dogura was awesome!
  5. i don't think these have been posted, have they? Bridget CM, "you give..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQT07iY4_ak Ky CM, "sence" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs7q-2WAUKw
  6. tons, they have their own thread here, too. try page 2 of this section.
  7. yay mind games on the internet -_-;

    FRC on Pad

button mapping is never banned, but button "macros" might be. big difference.
  10. http://j1n.org/rc/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?2398 comments, destin? j1n?
  11. whoever translated it missed the comment. in the original scans from way way back when, there's a line that says: 着地後硬直11,しゃがみ状態 the frame data in the guide only includes the latter half, しゃがみ状態 (crouching state) in reference to 着地後 (after landing). the part that got lost in translation was 硬直11 (recovery 11). you can actually find it in the old Slash data: http://f32.aaa.livedoor.jp/~kosugi/guiltyslash/baiken.html
  12. if someone could test it out, try it with Baiken's Youzansen -- there is some additional landing recovery after the move (and it's obvious to see, as Baiken will crouch, even if you don't push down on the pad/stick). iirc the landing recovery can't be avoided, save for maybe FD(C?)ing it on landing. but anyways, try something like YZS, double jump -> hit the opponent with something, and watch her sprite. or YZS RC, hit -> land. (YZS FRC, too)

    Slayer AC Combos

no assuming, no theory stuff, someone just test this out (please).
  15. from Youtube (Math vs Nooj) Seriously guys, it was pretty painful to see all those pilebunkers and unfinished air combo. Practice up! also Faust(SL) > Raoul(SL) dropping his combo, for a SCATHING TAUNT, was pretty funny

    Gold Burst Bug

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yisy2RJ21ro no guard point edit: sorry, just pointing out it's probably not a guard point issue. i still don't know what could cause it, though.
  17. there's a very helpful guide that Hellmonkey wrote, which is also STICKIED, below this thread, so once you get your copy of AC, read and learn from that guide.
  18. you can find lots of match vids on youtube. a really good place would be here: http://www.youtube.com/user/bigooooooohh in the search bar, paste in バイケン or 梅喧 (maybe try ばいけん too, but you almost never see it in hiragana), and you'll come up with all of the baiken matches, which is most of the baiken matches ever posted online. for combo vids, there are only *really* two, lol, and although you can also find them on youtube (at bigooooooohh's profile, or from others), they're actually from this site, originally: http://mattariwahuku.himegimi.jp/index.htm => http://mattariwahuku.himegimi.jp/douga.htm ======================================== and next time, please don't post the (almost) same thing in three different threads. if you want vids, please just post it in the media/video thread, not in the combo thread or strategies thread.
  19. thanks!

    Baiken in #R

this is the Slash frame data: http://f32.aaa.livedoor.jp/~kosugi/guiltyslash/top.html if you click on a character image and follow the link to their Slash frame data, at the top of *that* page, there will be three links: the third link takes you to their #R frame data. (look for 旧フレームデータ表(別窓) )
  21. combo into FATAL KO
  22. is it really just 7? i thought 1F-jumping was FDCing the jump start-up, which implied you have to press 4[P+K]~7]P+K[.
  23. which is better for throw OSing: 6P+H, or 6K+H?
  24. i don't know if the guys i play against aren't used to baiken, or what, but flying around with your fist out in the air seems to work fairly well in scoring random knockdowns.
