(instead of going for a BBU re-launch) 2:33, just before the end of the match (not really a criticism, more of a question): besides trying to go for a falling j.K -> re-launch (which you whiff, and this is why i ask), what other options do you have that are worth going for? At first, it doesn't seem so bad even if you whiff, because you have corner knockdown, and he's almost dead. However, you're almost dead, too, and you also have 50% tension. Would an air super have been worth using in that combo? (i.e. 2K, 2H, BBU, j.K-2K -> j.K -> dj.S xx DHD ?) reason i ask is b/c comboing to air super seems easier than trying to for a delayed falling j.K -> 5H relaunch (which is what i assume you were going for).

Wind Owl: it's not up yet, I just finished uploading the Korean matches. I won't be around by the time it goes up, but it should be in my movies directory on STBT in 5 minutes. Kodanshi, yours should be up pretty soon, too. Just check www.strokethebigtree.com/rtl_s_movies/ for "naraku" whenever you come back online. For everyone that wanted to see those Korean matches, they are in movies directory, under "Jinga120". The files are named as Chomite translated them for me, above.

1) Mostly agreed, although for the characters it doesn't work on, you can modify it a bit by tossing in more j.Ses at the beginning. Anyways this isn't really an answer to your question, so don't mind me. 2) They are specific to your set-up -- check out the fastfall combos section in the Baiken guide. 3) Her 6K / f.K beats throws. 4) It's not so much that it's so so bad as that it's extremely situational, so unless you have mastered all of Baiken's match-up specific stuff and then want to get into obscure tactics, it may not be so relevant. But that's just my opinion. 5) "Meaty" means "time your move so that it is active while your opponent is getting up," so that if they don't block as they wake up (i.e. try to jump, backdash, or do a non-invincible attack), they'll get hit. So it's not quite "throw it out in their face when they wake up," but almost.

I don't *really* think it's a different motion (then again, Pinion said something about jumping up faster...), but rather the characters' "throw-boxes". At least in my experience, not everyone can airthrow at the same relative height difference. Some characters seem to be able to throw the opponent if the opponent is around "the centre" of their sprite; some characters seem to be able to throw if the opponent is above them a bit. (There's some leeway between these two, but I'm just saying these two, for example.) So, unless I'm totally wrong, and I'm not saying that I'm right either, there's more to airthrowing than just knowing what your character's dot/pixel range is. Presumably, the airthrow range in the frame data is a horizontal range, yet obviously, you can airthrow someone that's a little bit above you, so there may be some unlisted frame data for airthrows (i.e. vertical range). And assuming this is correct, it should mean that a "fast" airthrow is an airthrow done at your maximum vertical range. Why do you need to do a super jump motion? Is that because you will jump up faster than a normal jump?

Seconded; I got all the way up to queueing the files in Clubbox's Download Manager, but I'm just sitting at 0%, and it looks like the manager is trying to just get a connection with the server or something. I promise to upload these to STBT if someone gets them to me~ Just by the way, "Korea" (sorry to generalize) had a decently active online scene in #R, as you could often go to a place called "Korean Theater" to get some really good matches. I think everyone sorta moved over to cafe.daum.net and posts in the GG area (not that I really know). There was also a blog, of sorts, that posted Melty Blood and Slash vids last year...

watch Raiel's second Slayer combo vid for fancy DOT FRC combos. DOT FRC j.H -> 6H -> 5H ... is HUGE damage for 75% tension.

most characters just have to hit 2D on reaction and you'll lose, so yeah it's a bit poopy. it's mostly an ace up your sleeve that you use to punish a predictable (and unsafe) pressure string. like take Baiken, if she runs up to you and does 2K-c.S-2D xx tatami and doesn't FRC, you can D-step xx PB out of the tatami without even IBing the 2D. that sort of thing.

maybe if he's good enough he'll make sol glitch out and become IK tier. actually more seriously, i sorta see where Tiamat is coming from, wasn't Jam kinda B-ish in #R before kaqn came along and started playing her as his main? what's the difference in the argument there?
