Yonasu: in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOFxdcZLtoc at 0:53 when you hit Jam with CH 5P into air combo -- if the opponent is too far in the air for the B&B air combo to work, go for damage like j.K xx FLJ or something. (i'm not sure what else you could connect after 5P x2 -> j.K, with that spacing.) at least, off-hand, i think the damage should work out to be better than j.K-2K -> j.K -> dj.K. actually, looking at the set-up again, it looks like maaaaybe j.K -> dj.K -> dj.D could have worked, but maybe not. kinda iffy.
  4. the problem is, the movie is obscenely long. so, you're trying to apply movie design for 3-5 minutes movies, to something that is 5 times longer than that. it doesn't necessarily follow.

  9. idk, that sorta sounds like you're saying that since it's harder to FRC than RC, the odds are against you for trying to FRC, so don't bother. maybe i'm misunderstanding this, though.
  10. synching the timing is a general matter of practicing, and it's totally subjective to say that it's "harder than you think". so as a counterexample, but not that i mean to be a jerk, i don't think it's "harder than i think". anyways, my point is that, as an "objective" statement, i would agree if you just took out that middle paragraph.

Coinage: although it is a bit outdated (i think), the 101 thread still has the basic ground and air combos for you to learn. If it's a bit too much to sort out, PM me.

  18. if you want an "arcade" feel, turn down the BGM. at least, that's what i recall -- BGM is far less important than voice and sound effects, so it's kept lowest of the three. but maybe i'm wrong.

  21. ah whoops, i didn't really explain myself. i've noticed that if you score a kabari against an aerial opponent, CH or not, you seem to get a LOT more time in AC (than in Slash) to follow up with something like f.S or 2D. Two good examples are in the Komorebi combo vid, where Baiken does a combo against Johnny by launching him into the corner and then doing chain -> f.S, and also a combo against Robo-Ky along the same lines. I dunno, it could just be me, but I find it a bit surprising. I'm not sure if it necessarily gives more damaging combos, but still, it seems like it's something worth noting.

  23. you don't have to memorize it all -- most of it becomes intuitive after you play for a long enough time, anyways. (e.g. which attacks are highs/lows, which ones are ___-invincible, which ones are slow/fast, etc.)
  24. it's quite likely that you're just not doing it fast enough. depending on your button config, doing H SE FRC 6H may be impossible, or only mildly difficult. However it's configured, you will probably have to FRC with P+K+S, so that you can then slide your thumb (/index finger) over H to do the 6H as soon as possible. it also specifically says to use H SE because of the increased hit stun (S SE is a Level 3 attack; H SE is a Level 4 attack).
  25. DoublexEdge: playing with an arcade stick is totally different than with a PS2 analog stick because you're using your hand, not your thumb. (at least, that's how i imagine you would play with the PS2 analog stick.)
