  1. I fought Dizzy a lot. Mostly against Natsume and Baim. I can't remember the exact properties of the EX fish but I think it follows, goes really fast, and lasts a long time. Don't remember number of bites. I also don't remember what old H laser was like. What I can say is that the new force break knife is really fast and homes. The biggest thing that I found annoying to deal with was Dizzy's new far ice spike. She now has 2 versions, sort of like Eddies drills, so you really have to watch where you are standing at all times. Overall, the match feels harder for Faust than it did in AC. I think Dizzy was one of Faust's easier match ups in AC though. I did well in general winning more than I was losing vs the Dizzys. Sorry I am not much of a Dizzy expert aside from how to fight her with Faust, but I hope that answer's some of your questions Destin. I hope you pick the game up again. I think you will like new Dizzy.
  2. I don't know if I will update the blog, but I am happy to post information about ACR and answer any questions in the ACR thread.
  3. I haven't heard anything about an official guidebook or change log. I'm sure someone will eventually post all of the changes though. Kliff impressions: I only fought one Kliff player but I played against him maybe about 6 times. I think we went 3-3 or something like that. I really do not know how to fight this character yet. His long reach attacks really catch you off guard sometimes. The move where he pole vaults on his sword is hard to block and also caught me off guard a lot. I'm not quite sure if it can cross up or if there is a specific way to block it yet. When he does that air move where he falls straight down and stabs his sword on the ground, after the initial sword hit, there is also an impact radius ground hit that also got me a few times. Watch out for that. It seems like he can be punished if you avoid it though. His super disc thing has really long range and is pretty fast. Hit box is annoying sometimes and stuff will whiff against him. He does pretty good damage in general. This particular player was doing pretty well against other people. Overall, I think he seems pretty good. It's hard to tell because its so early. I fought 2 Justice players. One of them was Mike (the famous Jam player). He had like a 30 win streak with Justice against various random people. I only fought him once and came within like a hit of beating him on my only try. Mike says that he thinks Justice isn't that good but is having fun messing with him and will probably stick with Jam. Mugen told me he thinks Justice looks strong. I asked Mike about his thoughts on the 100% tension "install" super and he says he never even used it once. He thinks its a waste of meter and that Justice's other supers are way more useful. I would agree. Fighting him just feels like running through a big obstacle course of slow moving missiles. Kind of like playing a bullet hell shooter but not really. Once you can get past the bit wall of missiles, the match didn't seem so bad. Justice can convert big damage off of random missile hits and he can also combo into existing missiles already on screen pretty easily. He has a lot of solid looking normals. His sweep is especially a good poke. Fast and long range. The other Justice player wasn't as good as Mike but he seems to be enjoying the character. Overall I think Faust will do fairly well against Justice because he has a lot of tools to get in with teleport variations, air force break pogo, and the right items at the right time. Faust can't really poke justice through all of those missiles though. I really want to fight this character more since I only had 2 matches total. Maybe just jumping into his missiles and slash backing them to get rid of them like I often do against Testament's old phantom soul would work, but I think they are multiple hits so it would probably be difficult. Once again, it is too early to tell how good Justice is, but I don't think he will completely suck.
  4. Oh you mean air spike swat down follow up? Yea maybe. I am pretty sure the flaming version has big stun, but I don't know about the regular version.
  5. I don't think Faust's scalpel pull had the stun changed but I guess it could have been (?). My gut says probably not but I guess we will find out when an official list is posted. By the way. I am happy to answer any questions about any other characters or in general if people want to post them in the thread. I don't know everything, but I played the game all day Saturday and Sunday and a bit on Thursday. The only characters that I have not fought against yet are May and ABA.
  6. I am adding a $500 pot bonus to the 1st place winner of Guilty Gear singles! This is all out of my own pocket! Please come to Chicago and take my money! There will be additional pot bonus money added as well. Details coming soon... Regarding which version we use... I can't make that judgment until the PS3/360 port comes out. Once we see how well it runs, we can figure it out from there. Also need to wait and see when R hits consoles.
  7. VENUE ANNOUNCEMENT: Once again, Frosty Faustings V will be held at Nickel City! I know people have commented on the fact that Nickel City's party room has been a tad crowded in the past. Not to worry! This year, we will have access to the entire party room, and in addition, we will have a lot of space on the arcade floor area as well! The staff will clear away many of the non fighting game cabinets to make room for more TV set ups and TO table areas! Nickel City 555 Waukegan Road Northbrook, IL 60062 Phone: 847.559.8727 Where are all the GG players at!?! This is gonna be one of the biggest GG tournaments of the year!
  8. Faust didn't change much as far as he plays, but all of his changes are pretty much subtle buffs that all add up. The biggest thing that I think makes him more powerful is his item buffs. New dumbell item comes out fast, does tons of stun and knocks down on any hit New coin controls tons of space and gives you flaming swat till end of round New mini Robo-Ky now flies out farther, and if it lands behind the opponent it runs at them from BEHIND meaning your opponent is stuck between Faust and the min Robo-Ky. So many great setups from this and there have been so many times when opponent got hit while comboing me or had to stop their combo to block or avoid mini RK The big sink/wash tub item now TRACKS, so it falls wherever they are standing. Very hard to avoid unless they stop whatever they were doing and move right when they see it thrown. So many times has this counter hit characters trying to set stuff up like Zappa with Ghosts or Dizzy with fish/garbage All his other items are good as ever. Another thing I never posted before was for his baseball bat follow up to scalpel pull, it now wall sticks which makes it pretty hard to combo unless you are near the corner (which you most likely wont be if you are using scalpel pull)... this I mentioned. The thing I didn't mention was that the baseball bat followup is now a NORMAL special move and not a force break. Meaning, that the TNT explosion only costs 25% to do now. I mentioned FB door and said it isnt good to spam. This is true, but it can be used to punish things from full screen on reaction! All of the other changes I posted previously are all little things that help. Faust isn't like WAY better and I doubt he is going to be top tier or anything, but I am happy with him and his new tools are all really fun. I also never mentioned that untechable time on jumping dust is longer, so you can get a knock down off of air combos from higher up now and get that okizeme game going again. I posted a list of some changes here http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15069-GG-AC-R-Video-Discussion-Thread!&p=1395052&viewfull=1#post1395052 This game is great. I hope everyone plays it a lot when it comes out on console!
  9. Reaver. Game is fun as hell! New Faust is really good. I'm having a lot of fun learning all of the new matchups. There are definitely changes that were not reported in the last loketest, so I guess just wait till someone loss a complete official list. Probably won't be too long.
  10. Colors and sets same as console AC but the 2 new ones replaced set 1 hs and d
  11. Yea, its his Slash color set Slash button (color set 3). That's actually the color I am using as my main color now and was my main color in Slash. In addition to the obvious old school XX black and red, I am also a big fan of Slash K button (blue), and reload K button (all white with gold scalpel)
  12. This may seem like a silly question coming from someone who played "R" already, but does anyone know if it was mentioned in any posts how to select the new colors out of curiosity? You can toggle between color sets by pressing start, and there are 4 sets just like in console AC, but basically I was just wondering what colors the new colors replaced. Personally, I think Faust's new colors suck, and I checked all the ones I like and they are still there, so I was just sorta curious about what got replaced or if the new ones are selectable in a different way.
  13. The hitbox on Faust's far slash was buffed. I don't think the range was changed but they made it wider so that it hits a bit more above and below the scalpel. Its harder for a lot of characters to avoid it by running forward or doing attacks that put them in a crouch-like position. I played about 3 hours of "R" last night at my local arcade in Gunma. The hit box certainly feels wider but there was one instance where Millia was still able to run under it from pretty close range. I still haven't gotten to test it out in a bunch of situations. In the group of people I played with at the arcade yesterday, I only got to fight against Venom, Potemkin, Sol, Anji, Axl, and Millia. A few other things I noted from day one Faust play. Force break pogo now lifts off the ground from an OTG for a full legit combo, so stuff like air combo into air dust for knock down canceled into FB pogo works. The new version of it (pressing D while in hop state) is good for extending combos but I haven't found any combos that really do a ton of damage as a result of it yet. The move on it's own, however, while on pogo is great for those moments when you are on the pogo in a neutral state and can be used for general pressure or almost like a semi-DP like move. One more note about pogo stance is that it seems the hit stun on the p face extend move has been increased and it seems easier to do slightly longer combos. I was at least able to get longer ones on Potemkin. Still need more testing. One more thing about pogo is that it seemed a little harder to do double ground flower hits after the initial pogo hit. You have to do it slightly earlier so the chances of the opponent being able to tech after going my way are higher since you have to knock them higher off the ground. General timing for air combo into jump dust seems slightly tighter. Totally doable by any means but maybe just a frame or so difference. New FB door is a fun little tool. Certainly not something to abuse too much or rely on heavily but it can catch people off guard in the right situation when used sparingly. Especially with certain item set ups. It seems that on counter hit (at least when the opponent is in the air) they cannot tech, so it is easy to follow up with a nice beefy combo. FB bat follow up to scalpel pull now does wall stick instead of wall bounce, making it hard or impossible to combo after unless you are near the corner. Seems just doing the standard swat follow up for the big meter gain is a good option, and if you have the meter, to just do the TNT follow up. New coin is super useful! It stays on the screen for a long time and controls a lot of space. Great for followup up for pressure and keeping the opponent guarding. And as usual on hit, you get that nice flame swat! Oh yea! New dumbell item is fun and gets instant knockdown. Because of the far angle it travels, it sucks up close though because it will just fly over their heads if they are standing on the ground. Good for full screen. New food item is just standard food item as far as I can tell... nothing special. Counter hit standing kick knocks them to the ground in front of Faust rather than knocking back full screen. It's easy to set up okizeme after this. Can't think of anything else in particular about Faust specific stuff. I can talk about how matchups changed more once I fight more characters and get more match experience in. Faust still feels very similar and very much intact with mostly buffs and some nice new fun tools. I don't think he is all that more powerful than his regular AC version but depending on how matchups have changed he might be overall better in this game compared to AC. Overall, the game feels like it runs fine and I didn't notice any input lag for anyone wondering. The game seems really fun and I can't wait to play more this weekend at Mikado!! Lastly, funniest moment of the night was seeing Venom charge his full screen stinger aim ball to max size while Sol was on the other side of the screen. Sol does grand viper under the stinger aim ball as it is released and hits venom, only to have the ball bounce back off the back wall and smash Sol in the back of the head, much to Venom's delight. I LOLed.

  17. Yesterday, I decided I was going to go to this and then when I went to buy overnight bus tickets, all of the ones from Gunma were sold out. Too expensive to take Shinkansen for just a weekend. Oh well. R comes out next week anyway.
  18. I wish I could go but I won't be able to visit the US during that time. I hope the event is a big success though!
  19. hmm... 3 day weekend... i might even try to go lol
  20. Too bad Faust's new colors both suck BTW were there any more actual game play change notes? (I was unable to make it to the loketest this time around)
  21. http://com.nicovideo.jp/community/co1154974 Stream live now
  22. Some Japanese players at the last loketest told me that the console version is regular AC+ but for all we know, they don't know any more than the people on this thread and it is all speculation. Even if we get regular AC+ first on console, it is pretty much a given that we eventually will get console R. I just hope it doesn't take too long. Edit: well... Looks like they were wrong!
  23. Thanks Jinbe. I am also going to enter the team tournament with Kunihiro but we haven't decided on our 3rd player yet so we will just register the morning of the event. I haven't had a chance to play GG in over a month (not since the last R loketest) but I am really looking forward to this tournament!
  24. cool, how many people entered? Any vids? Not surprised to see Inoue win. (I wanted to watch the stream but I couldn't since time zone differences made it difficult for me)
  25. Could someone please post the results? Did the Japanese GG players enter?
