If by slower you mean the actual game speed during matches offline, you are correct that it is slower than the PS2 version. The PS2 version in this regard was not arcade perfect. This is actually the CORRECT speed that the game should have always been played at. Since I play primarily on arcade it feels perfect to me. You will get used to it pretty quick, don't worry.

So, I'm still wondering who wants to participate in the special 5 on 5 regional exhibition! Shit will be hype! Keep in mind that GG has a $500 pot bonus! Only a few more weeks to go! We already have like 150 signed up on facebook for Frosty Faustings.

So the custom search worked for maybe like 2 hours and then stopped working again and I had to go back to quick match.... hopefully once the game drops on US PSN soon they will patch stuff for all versions.

For the first time ever today I have been able to connect to games through custom search! On the other hand I've lost my connection to psn a bunch of times. At least it seems thy are trying to fix it?

Alright, at the request of Reaver and some other people I just sent Arc System Works an email in Japanese telling them about custom search not working and the online matches being much slower than Persona or BB. I also linked them to the bugs thread. I am sure that they are aware of most of this already and that Japanese players have already informed them, but I guess asking them politely to fix these problems can't hurt. Here's hoping that when the game drops in the US tomorrow that I don't end up getting unplayable matches half the time from quick match with US players...

If you are planning to bring a setup (TV+console/games) please post in this thread! You will not have to pay the venue fee for letting us use your equipment for the day. I would like to have some kind of idea of expected inventory so that we can plan how to set everything up in advance. This means things starting on time and being run more efficiently. OK so if I just leave it on custom search results it will allow people to challenge me? I guess that's all well and good but it still doesn't allow me to choose people with good connections. It isn't all that much different than just using quick match but I'll give it a shot... Also, game is not dead, there are a lot of people playing (on PSN at least)

you cannot create rooms in ranked. I don't have a problem creating rooms and getting people in player matches, but that's besides the point. I just want to be able to utilize the search function for ranked.

Ok, so has anyone tried contacting Ark System Works and telling them how problematic the online is? I would love to but I can't find an email address on their website to contact them. Yamanaka's twitter was posted on SRK a while back but I don't have a twitter account. anyone know?

Filters dont matter, My problem is not matches not showing up... it always returns a list of a few... the problem is that whenever I click on a match to play, it ALWAYS says "Cannot join the room. The room no longer exists." and yet sometimes even when I refresh the list SEVERAL TIMES after, the room still is showing up in the search....

Hmmm... OK, thanks. This problem doesn't happen with other games online so I doubt it's just me. Other people on PSN have said they have the same problem. I will wait longer and see if they fix it for now, but I still wanted to hear what the xbox situation is like.

So for those of you guys who are playing on xbox live, how is the lag when you fight people in Japan from outside of Japan? I have only fought 2 people that I know of for a fact that were not in Japan and both matches were like playing under water. Most of my matches against other people in Japan are really good, and when there is lag, its nothing close to what I experienced with those 2 matches. Do you get playable matches on xbox outside the country? other question is, are you actually able to connect to games when you use custom search? when I try on PSN it has not worked even once. only quick match lets me get matches. I am honestly considering buying an xbox JUST for online GG. I would need a new stick, console, and xbox live subscription, so its throwing down a lot just for one game. do you think its worth it? PSN would be fine if it wasnt for the terrible match making. quick match is fine for now, but I worry that once the game is out in other countries, half of the matches I get on quick match wont be playable... so unless sony fixes the custom search feature, i might just get an xbox....

I haven't seen that combo yet. Can you get the OTG FB pogo in without slashbacking the explosion or do you still have to slashback?

Whenever I would play the PS2 version of AC after having been playing strictly arcade only for a year, I always can tell the speed difference immediately. Since I have been playing the PS3 version, I have not noticed any difference between PS3 and arcade game speed. I have not done any actual tests, but it feels just like arcade speed (which IMO is great).

Yea, game runs just fine on PS3 (offline). I don't get why people are already condemning the PS3 version as being laggy by default. If they would just fix the damn matchmaking online it wouldn't even be that bad since the majority of my matches have little to no noticeable lag. (I still get lag bad lag on some but this could easily be remedied by fixing fucking matchmaking so I can see green connections....)

Yea you are probably getting 0 bar connections because you are fighting all Japanese players. The very fact that you can connect to custom search matches at all is pretty amazing though. I really wonder if there is a way I can fix this in my settings. I bet if I were able to fix this and only choose green bar matches, they would all be flawless. Most of the matches I play from quick match are pretty good but sometimes I get a lot of lag and I bet those people would not show up as green bar in a search...

So has anyone who has the PSN version ACTUALLY been able to get a ranked match going using Custom Search? I still can only do ranked matches with Quick Match. Literally every time it just says "Cant join room, room doesnt exist" even though its a fresh search.... im wondering if theres something wrong with my internet connection settings or if this is happening to everyone
