I suppose the answer is different for everyone. Some players probably DO play multiple games. The extent to which they play each game may vary though. Comp is pretty rough here. Maybe not everyone can handle competing at their best in more than one game and dont want to spread themselves too thin. Maybe some people just lose interest in one game and start preferring another. For example, Nemo used to be a top GG player and then became a top SFIV player and now he is a top Marvel player. Some people just change their taste over time. Personally I prefer to focus on GG because I just enjoy playing it the most. I will occasionally play other fighting games for fun but pretty much only enter tournaments for GG.

I honestly would rather have them take their time and make a better and more complete game. I don't mind the wait. Still having fun with R. Only thing that sucks is if they don't release it before August 2014 because that's probably when I'll be moving back to the US. Then I'd have to wait to play it on console like the rest of you lol.

This winter!? Seems way too soon. I'd bet on mid or late next year at least.

Yea and even if they simplify some things a little, compared to all of the other current gen fighters I'm sure it will still be better anyway.

Look's like I'm late to this "party." I read the whole thread (mostly... until everyone got in that stupid balance/execution debate that went around in circles for like 20 pages and started skimming). First of all, I just want to say that people should really stop bringing up Pachi. Whatever I said in my blog like over 2 years ago when I posted that stuff was just stuff from a drunken conversation we had at a bar about what he might do if he were in charge of a new GG. It wasn't an interview, it wasn't real news, it wasn't anything that applies at all. I have no idea to what extent he is even involved in this game. Right now, there is no reason to believe that all these bad things are going to happen that people keep being so negative about. For now, just be excited that they are making a new GG. People have been waiting for it for years and have been very vocal about it, and now that it is coming there is so much negativity and bitching going around lol! I just can't believe it. From what we can see in the trailer, the game is looking great! I can understand how some people might not like the 3D cell shading (personally I think it looks sick) but otherwise, there is nothing so far to indicate that it is going to be [insert negative whining here]. And no... I don't know any more about this game than any of you do. The only difference is that I saw the trailer live at ArcFes and was probably drunker than you when I watched it for the first time. Anyway, good shit to Klaige, Destin, Watches, and a few other people for making some great posts. Let's just try to stay positive until they ACTUALLY give us something to whine about. And I am not calling out everyone or anyone in particular, but you probably know who you are if this applies to you. BTW, there's no reason to not play GGXXACPR when it comes out on console. I am sure we have a while. Just because a new version is on the horizon doesn't mean there can't be a scene for plusR. It's a great game and I hope people still play it while they wait for Xrd.

Mikado has tournaments every Tuesday and Thursday and sometimes Saturday. Club Sega Akihabara is also another good spot for casuals. Shinjuku Sportsland isnt bad either. Those are the main spots I frequent lately.

I haven't updated my blog but I thought I'd just mention that I made a twitter account finally. I will be posting GG related stuff about tournaments and whatnot so I figured those of you who read the blog might want to follow me. @elvenshadowmike

I won today's prelim in Takasaki. I just need to win one match tomorrow and I'm qualified for the final event.

We are having 2 weddings. One in Japan and one in Chicago. The Japan wedding was last Sunday. The Chicago wedding is the Friday of EVO weekend. So, unfortunately I cannot go to EVO this year. Sorry to derail the thread.

I just had my wedding last weekend and this coming weekend my family is still in Tokyo so I will be spending time with them. So, I have not had time to play GG lately. After this coming weekend I will start going to Revo Cup quals again. I will ask around and see if anyone knows more about the release date.

You want me to ask the staff about the release date? I don't really see the need. I am sure they didn't forget to make the patch LOL. Just be patient. The game will be out soon.

Jonio isn't very old but it is true that he is usually busy running Mikado. I don't see him play all that often when I am there. Also, his main is Johnny so Sol is just a sub character for him.

Due to being too busy with wedding planning stuff, I was unable to attend any quals last weekend. I should be able to attend the 2 Gunma ones this coming weekend though, since I live in Gunma. That's too bad iminthenet2. You still have plenty of chances.

STenSatsu - Yes, that is a list of everyone who won any qual, not just the area finals. The list is not complete. As you can see, Eki-chan is listed twice. The one with the gold mark next to it indicates that it was the area final and that he qualified for the main event. Kishya also won a prelim and FAB won his area final, so at the very least, those are missing. So basically, the ones with the gold mark next to it are the people who will play in the final tournament. St1ckbug - sounds good. see you then
