Yo im totally fine with a BB side tournament. Like, I dont want to shun the BB players. I dont play BB but im totally cool if people actually want to have a tournament. Yea.... last year we only had 8 ppl enter and im sure it was mainly cuz of the fact that it was between versions but we already have 8 main games and I think thats enough, but im certainly down for you running a side tournament, so go for it

i must say that the actual netcode isnt all that bad. most matches are pretty playable. if they only fixed the bugs when trying to connect to people it would be ok. If you are on the fence about getting the game, just get it. offline the port seems arcade perfect and im sure they will fix the online

I dont think that would work in AC. In R, FB pogo now pics up from OTG without OTG state, like how potemkin used to be after slide head. so now in R there are a lot of new combos

In all fairness, most of the matches I have played were pretty playable, its just a problem of being hard to find a match. I also just encountered a glitch where after the match it showed the wrong win loss statistics for me (like WAY off)

Just dissabled UPnP and I still get the same "Could not join room. The room no longer exists." message every time I try to play someone on ranked from a search. blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

So I'm playing the PS3 version on an old TV because my HDTV has shitty lag. I want to get rid of the side bars and just play it old school style, but I have not found a way to do so. The best I can do is just make the side bars black and have it on max zoom but it still doesn't take up the whole screen. Is there no way to do this or am I just retarded? I find it odd that the console version does not have this option since the arcade version of R, in fact, does.

Yea... good online is kind of important for America because people live so far. It won't really matter for the Japan scene. I will be hitting the arcade every weekend as usual. I just like having online for weekdays when I can't make it out to Tokyo arcades / no one goes to local Gunma arcade on weekdays. There is still a chance they will fix it. Once I figure out how to get matches from searches to work, I don't think the online will be all that bad. Hopefully disabling UPnP will fix it. I will post an update about this when I get off work. Only 5 and a half more hours to go!

Yea the pogo whiffs in this situation against Sol and HOS. I usually just run up and pick them up into an air combo off of the slide state.

Offline the game seems just fine. I tried training mode for a few minutes and was able to do everything normally and didn't feel any lag. I played a bunch more last night (like maybe a total of 50 ranked games or something) and I was only able to connect when using Quick Match. Later on it didn't take long to get games. Most of them were playable but with some degree of lag. I had a few flawless ones but I would say that overall, compared to most other fighters I have played online in Japan (SFIV, Marvel, BB, P4A, etc) that this net code is considerably worse. I really hope they do something to fix it. I still was not able to get a SINGLE match from searching for ranked. Every single time, it says "Can't join the room. The room does not exist." Normally when I play other fighters, I also get iffy connections when using Quick Match. I always search and choose people only with green (optimal) connections and I pretty much never get lag. Since I am unable to do that with GG now, perhaps that is why I am getting lag. Once they fix this damn problem and I can just play people with green connections only, maybe I will get more flawless matches. I will have to try this when I get home from work. Thanks for the heads up. I really hope it fixes the problem.

On PSN. So far I have played 7 matches (5 ranked and 3 player). 2 ranked were flawless and 3 were slightly laggy but still very playable. All player matches were ass connection. The biggest problem I am having is even getting matches to start in the first place. I keep getting the message "Can't join match. Room no longer exists" and this happens every time I do a search and click on ANY player on a fresh list and it also happens when I CLICK ON FUCKING QUICK MATCH WTF! How can the room that I am attempting to create not exist? Then most of the time when I click quick match and dont get the stupid error message it takes years to find someone. I know it just came out and its day one so hopefully they are still ironing out the bugs.....

I wouldn't say that the rest of the cast got worse. Aside from a few characters, most of them got more buffs than nerfs.

I will keep you guys in mind for the 5 on 5 BTW, Money matches in GG anyone? Anyone, any amount! Let's rock!

Faust ranks by game XX: S #reload: mid Slash: upper mid AC: mid +R: S? All of his changes were pretty much buffs. No single thing he got makes him godlike or broken but all of the little buffs kind of just add up to make him more solid. I think the biggest buff was his items getting way better overall. I guess he just does better in general when you take into account the changes to other characters as well. I don't know if I would say he is S tier but he certainly is at least A. Also... it's about 10:30 AM.... fiending so hard to get off work today! Gonna get dat PSN version ASAP as soon as I walk in my front door. Aint even gonna change outta my suit! GUILTYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think Kliff is so good to the point where he ruins the game but he IS really damn strong and I don't see his S tier status changing. I also can see why Zappa is so good. I played a lot of matches against a pretty solid Zappa yesterday and he really is a pain in the ass to deal with now. Sword is just so good now and it gives orbs so fast and easy and Roah is even better now too so those 2 things alone make Zappa super good. Ghosts are still really powerful and the garbage from them seems buffed. Dog might have been slightly nerfed but its still really powerful. I still have not played the game enough to really say what hands down the most broken things are yet.

So Q for u guys saying the online sucks. Are you ALWAYS playing matches that show best connection and still getting tons of lag or are you playing matches indicated as not optimal and still complaining? Just curious honestly. Even in Japan I only accept matches that are shown to be optimal connection pre match and I never have problems (I'm talking about other games cuz I dont have this game yet.) I'm just curious if it's really as bad as some ppl say or of ppl are just playing matches with shitty connections and are hoping it will be playable when thy shouldnt be

Thanks Neo. That sounds fine. Some people are saying that the netcode is fine. I guess its too early to really say... I hope it ends up working out for everyone. I also hope that a lot of people wait for the PSN version or at least get both. If everyone just ends up playing on 360 I might have to buy a 360 and new stick...

I am disappointed to hear that so many people are having connection problems. Since I live in Japan, I am sure it will run fine for me with other players in Japan, but I really want this game to thrive in all regions of the world so that the scene gets bigger. When you play ranked, is there ONLY a quick match option? Most games at least let you check connection strength... Can you at least see the connection strength of the opponent before accepting the match? How is the player match search options? By region? Connection strength? I only have PS3 so I have to wait unfortunately. I hope the game ends up being playable for everyone.... I will be willing to play some matches with US players to test the connection once it comes out on PSN.
