  2. Sup Stormlocke. I honestly have only fought against Robo like once or twice. It was against Gaku. He beat me. I don't think I have really seen the self-destruct super yet. I think I did see airdash out of force break. Overall, Robo seems strong IMO. I don't think you will be dissapointed with him. Sorry that I can't give more info. I'll try to fight him more. Also... Pretty sure 1 frame jump still is in the game. No reason to think they removed it.
  3. I think zeth might be right. In any case. If it actually does end up taking US PSN an extra week, you could always just buy the game from the Japanese PSN store...
  4. Well I played on Sunday and I started off at Shinjuku Sportsland cuz it is the closest arcade to the manga kissa I stayed at. They had 3 HD cabs running 1.01. Later, I decided to play at Club Sega Akihabara which has 5 HD cabs running 1.01. Either both of those arcades were "loketesting" or they just went ahead and released the new version (which I think was the case because it wasn't set up like a special event or anything, people were just playing as usual, and Sportsland was even running a BB tournament) Some arcades have it on old cabinets (like Mikado) where as others have it on HD cabs. The side bars are only there on the HD cabs. To be honest, I think the game runs fine on the HD cabs and don't really find myself making any execution mistakes. If there is any lag, it is pretty minor (like a frame or less). I really don't think there is any need to worry.
  5. Minion - ABA is still the only character in the game that I have yet to fight. Doragon - Well, last weekend I was playing version 1.01 the whole time. I don't know any specific changes except for the list that was already posted. It is probably accurate. I don't think the new version is really very different. Just a few minor bug fixes and tweaks.
  6. Yea, I have fought a decent amount of Anji players. There are a few that play at Game Platon and I also fought AGF. The matchup feels fairly similar. Faust has to be very careful not to mess around in the air too much if Anji has 25% tension because that "soul throw" force break (sorry I don't know the real move name) will grab me out of just about anything and it is super fast. I also was caught off guard by standing dust being able to be canceled now a few times. I still need a bit more experience against Anji to get more used to the small changes. I didn't fight any Anjis last weekend, so it isn't very fresh in my head. Let me know if you have any specific things you want me to look out for next time. I plan to play at Game Platon again this weekend so I am bound to fight Anji since there are like 3 Anji players there lol.
  7. Honestly I think Eddie is still pretty good. I am sure that Ogawa was a little annoyed that he lost to me. He beat me the 2 or 3 times I played him before the one I beat him and then I didn't play against him again after that. I fought against Isa's Eddie a week ago and he was just absolutely beasting the shit out of everyone. I think I tried against him about 7 times but couldn't get a win.
  8. Yea that's me. They chose 2 of my worst matches all night. I won like 80% of my fights and they pick the one where I do random accidental scalpel super out of no where and accidental point blank teleport in the corner lol! That Jam player is pretty good though and was beating me more than I beat him in all fairness. As for the Sol, I played him a bunch and I think that was the only match I lost to him all night... I will probably play at Platon again next weekend so there may be more vids. Hopefully next time they choose good ones :P
  9. Justice - Yea missiles getting stuffed and going away on hit is pretty bad for Justice. Faust can just get at the right distance and easily stuff all missile attempts with standing slash. As for mixups, I don't really know what great mixups Justice has lol. I haven't gotten mixed up by her. She is just pure zoning and keep away from what it seems like. She does have some great pokes though. Until I fight someone who is better with her, I have to agree that she seems pretty weak compared to most characters. Eddie Shadow Weiss - when I played against Ogawa he only used AC shadow. I didn't ask him if he thinks OG shadow is good or not but since I didn't see him use it you can take that information for what you will. I have seen other Eddies use it though from time to time. Johnny - Up coin has a zillion great uses. Also, it is much easier for him to get you into knockdowns for mist setups and it is so hard to escape from. Maybe I just need to find better ways out but whenever I get put in the corner for mist unblockables I just get reset again into death. Gotta level up on this matchup in R. Zappa - Yes, the sword is very very good. It goes almost full screen and just stays in your face. You really can't get through it easily and have to try to go over it to get to Zappa and it retracts pretty fast so getting in on Zappa with sword is a real pain. And all those orbs it gives results in lots of Raoh appearances. Ghosts are better too since the garbage they drop was buffed. Dog may not have unblockable bite now but the dog preassure is still extremely strong. Raoh was also buffed. Overall, Zappa is pretty powerful. Chipp - I don't remember each change off the top of my head but he got new force breaks. I think faster teleport. Double find me. 6HS ground bounce leads to lots of combos. Overall combos seem better. Venom - IMO he is pretty strong. I don't know why people would think he is weak I think that covers replies to everyone
  10. I would think Johnny should be higher. Not top but better than B...
  11. That's funny. I just talked to Ogawa today about tiers. After I won a game vs his Eddie, he came over and started saying how he thinks Faust is like A tier and that Eddie is garbage. He also said he thinks Zappa and Chipp are S tier. Of course these are just his opinions. I Haven't seen the new Arcadia btw.
  12. The game doesn't feel slow at all. I think everyone will be pleased after playing it
  13. extra pot bonus money added In addition to the $500 pot bonus for 1st place in GG... $200 pot bonus for 1st place SSFIVAE $200 pot bonus for 1st place UMvC3 $100 pot bonus for 1st place Persona 4 Arena
  14. Considering all of the nerfs he got, I have no problem with this.
  15. Sorry to hear that you can't make it out this year Reaver. Unfortunately, I can't change the date. This year should be hype! I hope you can make it next time!
  16. I'm pretty sure ED "spitball" is still overhead. Im pretty sure I got hit by an unblOckable from it but I could be wrong. Lots of matches sometimes become a big blur when all played in several hour long sessions.
  17. Tournament was announced in August on SRK. I hope you can make it again!
  18. Yes, I noticed. You are correct about Faust being able to stay in the air. The problem is that the skull lasts a very long time. You can only run away from it in the air for so long, and once you find yourself with it stuck directly under you with no more mobility options, you ARE going to land on it. Once Faust uses his air dash and has no more momentum for his forcebreak pogo, he can only throw bomb bags and FDC float, but those options keep him pretty much stationary, so if by that point the skull catches up to you, you are getting cursed. Once you are in that position the only thing you can hope to hit Testament with is a hail mary bomb bag or hope some item you threw before you went airborn comes back to randomly save your ass, but chances are you are getting cursed. So yea pretty much need to stay mobile while keeping what Testament is doing in mind as well. Good Testament's will force you into blocking the skull and getting cursed. I think it's a really good tool for Testament. As far as how the new game is being received, I really don't know yet. Most people I talked to seem to like it or say it is too early to decide, but I think most people are happy to see a new GG. I am sure it will thrive, especially since regular AC never even died. Destin: No problem. I hope you get back into GG. Would be great to play again someday.
  19. The matchup felt the same for me with Faust against him mostly. I think his bar charges a little faster, or at least it just seemed like it. I found it harder to stop him from charging... maybe he recovers faster from charge animation. Either way, he was getting to use way more lvl 2 and 3 moves against me than I am used to. But yea... other than that it felt pretty similar so far.
  20. I fought Chipp maybe like 4 times. I think I went 2-2. The match up feels mostly the same but a little harder. The new "find me" move is really hard to see. Blocking his teleport mixups seemed harder. I can't really remember much specific stuff. I need more experience against him.
  21. BTW, new phantom soul force break is annoying as hell. It follows you for a LONG TIME! and it is unblockable. Think of original BB Arakune cloud curse. Touch it and you are cursed. Avoiding it is a pain in the ass. It won't hit you if you are crouching (at least not Faust but he crouches low), but it will sit and hover over your head, so if Testament is pressuring you and does an overhead, you pretty much either eat the overhead and then get cursed, or just block high and get cursed lol. Fighting Testament feels probably the most different out of any of the other cast changes.
  22. I will try to ask. As far as my own observations, I don't remember specifics about fish and lasers, but the D ice spike is really useful and annoying to deal with. It hit's from about 3/4 screen away, so I really have to watch out for it while for away from Dizzy and trying to set up items. It caught me off guard a lot. Auto exploding bubble is a nice bonus for Dizzy. I used to be able to just wait the bubble out but now I have to really be careful about not getting hit by it while dodging other crap if it is on me. FB knife comes out fast and does a lot of hits. It doesn't seem amazing but is a quick full screen homing pressure tool. There already is a thread for my blog. I can just post in there. But since everyone is asking questions in this thread, I am just posting everything in here right now (at least about ACR). And thank you!
  23. Of course it's possible. Many arcades even run SSFIV:AE on old cabinets. There are settings to adjust the aspect ratio so that it fits better on non wide screen cabs. ACR works just like any other GG game on it... it just gets rid of the side bars. And thanks! The problem with updating my blog is I used to do it at work. I have a new job now and work at the main government office for Gunma Prefecture. The security settings on the computers here are very strict and block tons of websites. I can't seem to be able to log in to blogspot to edit my blog from here. After work, I have more important things to do than type about video games, like actually playing them (plus I am married now so I need to make time for my wife). So, I am happy to just update people with info on DL or whatever.
  24. Johnny's stage did change, and the dustloop can be done but not for as many reps as in older games, but I have seen Sols DL into Sidewinder loop
  25. Mikado has 4 ACR sets. The rest are still regular AC. They are all on old cabs and the game runs completely fine on them without any lag. No bars on the side. The cab at Game New Platon (where I sometimes play now that I moved to Maebashi 30 minutes from there in Gunma. I got 1st place in that 3 on 3 tournament you posted vids for on 9/15 btw) has only one cab and its a new cab and uses the bars. Now that I compare, the newer cab does seem to have a SLIGHT bit of lag... maybe, but it is totally playable. I need to try it again to compare, so don't take what I say 100% on this yet. Abominable K - I haven't played PS2 AC since Frosty Faustings in January... (please check the new Frosty Faustings thread BTW! You should all come!) but the speed feels like what I am more used to (arcade, Naomi), so I think it's pretty much the same as it has always been on arcade. Whether or not the PS3/360 port is more like PS2 speed or arcade speed... I guess we will wait and see. zdravkelja - I know Justice is female. Sometimes I don't think about it though.
