  1. Sweep 5D is gone, but Narukami somehow still looks better to me than he did before. I would trade derp autopilot freebee mixup for more options in a heartbeat. I'm on planning giving him a shot as a sub this time around again.
  2. In this matchup you can't afford to be reckless. Take it slow and try to push him back. If they're content to jump back and use j.C, then that's all good if it helps us reach the corner. Use air dashes, 6C, 5C, and gustaf sparingly. If you're jump cancelling your pressure, take notice if he uses drives. If his 5D catches something like your j.B, you can jump cancel it and barrier (enma is air unblockable, I think it's called enma anyway lol). This might be one of our worst matchups, and it's a struggle if you aren't as patient as the hakumen player.
  3. Optimized TCL starter [uW] + 50 meter (5564) TCL > IAD j.C > 6A > 236D > {5C > 6}*4 > 623C > 3C > 22C > 2C > 6D edit: forgot to mention it's midscreen only.
  4. It's nothing new. Being able to sweep under j.B and 5B is (just) one of the reasons why Mitsuru vs Liz is so bad.
  5. Oh my god. I think I need to go to NEC next year.
  6. Shadow Mitsuru stuff Shadow chie will haunt your dreams
  7. Tao and good-guy went to a restaurant because Tao was hungry. Tao ate so much that she passed out and was unable to pay the bill, forcing Ragna to do it. When tao woke up she took a nap. Tao and the gang go to the hot springs, where everyone sees Tao's amazing tan. Tao. Tao. Tao.
  8. I want to apologize for not updating the video thread recently, especially since there is better footage now. Once finals are done Tuesday, it'll be consistent again. I'll give it a small update over the weekend when I get a break.
  9. Her oki isn't really anything special when compared to stuff like that. It's not rigged or anything. It's just a big deal that she gets real knockdowns now, giving her more consistent chances to stick to you.
  10. DIE-chan showed us why shadow characters are terrifying, during a stream last night aimed at showcasing the new shadow versions. Die-chan, Stunedge, Souji, and Kirisame were present. http://t.co/OCsJPcAqkC DIE-chan did practically the same confirm off crouching 5AA confirm as well, and attempted it off other starters but dropped it. This definitely shows some potential for Shadow Mitsuru. Losing 20% damage, awakening mode, bursts, and the new auto-combo are all big trade-offs, but this really shows that she still has promise! ... Here's some fuel for your nightmares, guys.
  11. Watching that persona stream was nuts. Shadow berserk looks redonkulous. Chie can turn any confirm into 6.5k+ unburstable for 100 meter. I'm sure someone will upload it soon, so I'll link it then.
  12. I might be too busy with finals. I'll try to make it.
  13. Starting this up again soon! I'm going to start the next set of suggestions and polls shortly after NEC.
  14. Looks like Gamefaqs has a real team. I'll talk to some people and see who we can get. If needed, I'd be down to play.
  15. I already have two accounts. Not gonna get too far into this vortex and get a third. Up to 79 on one and 67 on the other in three days. I'm disgusted with myself. well, actually... I'll message you on FB
  16. I'll bitch here and bitch there. But ya... Kokonoe all the way.
  17. By one player game, I am saying something along the lines of Narukami or Chie oki. A situation where what you do is not influenced by the opponent specifically. A situation where you can use several pre-determined blockstrings, frametraps, and mixups for a good period of time without much risk. A thing that good Taos do ridiculously well. This is also something that I believe several characters do similarly. relius and Valk, for example, get to constantly pressure once they get in and rotate through several mixups that the player has practiced. I'm not saying it's too good, busted, broken, needs a nerf, or anything else along those lines. I was just describing what I feel that particular situation is like. And to be fair, every character does this sort of thing to some extent when they get in. It's when it gets to continue for an extended period of time with many many options, that I feel it's deserving of being described as being like a "one-player-game". It's just my opinion anyway. My own definition.
  18. Well. Once you get in with tao, I will agree that it's a one-player-game. Outside of that, she's strong in all neutral and offensive aspects, but not broken, due to her poor defensive ones.
  19. I never used any of those phrases. ] None of us have an issue with you playing her. In fact, it's a matchup we'll see so little of that you would be doing us a service.
  20. Marin Karin will likely become more important, simply to let us confirm into real damage more often. If new ways to combo midscreen are found, then 2DD should probably be used towards the end of a combo. Using it early might spoilt the combo's potential, due to its proration.
  21. Ted, trust us on this. Tao is the best character in the game outside of Kokonoe. 4k+ easily off a lot of her confirms + oki. Once she's on you, you can't do anything. It's never safe to press buttons. It's never safe to reversal. She goes where she wants, when she wants. Her priority is ridiculous. The only saving grace for characters that manage to get in is that she doesn't have a reversal. You can argue Litchi, Hazama, valk and maybe a few others as being one of the best, if not THE best. But I think tao is, and so does a large portion of players and Japan. I'll need to look around for it, but I think I saw a matchup chart that showed Tao leading. Similar to this one Japan made for P4A http://puu.sh/2N2nJ edit: By the way, please play her a little bit if you're interested. We need a Tao!
  22. Without just saying "I'm worried about her damage" this is my biggest concern right now (Meaning I hope someone figures out something soon. Come'on japan give us some combo vids!) Converting into real combos. It seems fairly simple off air hits and other situations where 2B > 2DD is possible, but what about crouching confirms? I've yet to see any meter-less way to confirm into real combos. Midscreen we still need to OMC, which I was expecting. But even in the corner it seems like we'll need to spend 25 meter for SB Coup. I wouldn't mind this, but since we'll have meter cooldown, we wont gain any of it back. Sure thing! I'll be fairly busy this whole week with finals though.
  23. I've been thinking about Mitsuru's changes a lot, and although players haven't fleshed her out again yet, I can see some patterns emerging. She has a laundry list of buffs, which nearly all fit into being new/more options for pressure and neutral. She has a laundry list of nerfs, which all focus on removing damage. More options. Less damage. I'm perfectly fine with that. In p4a I occasionally had matches that I knew I wouldn't have won, if not for a lucky 5k+ confirm. That feeling doesn't sit right with me. I vastly prefer to feel like playing solid and making decisions were the reasons for my wins. And happily for me, that seems to be the direction asw is taking with her. More opportunities and tools to play solid. Fewer instances of BS damage. Now, with that all said, Let's hope someone finds some more damage. I am curious though. Do you guys think that the massive damage nerf still outweighs her buffs? More options and tools are great, but if we need twice the confirms to win, it'll still be tough. Personally, I prefer this version of Mitsuru so far. I believe she is comparable to p4a Mitsuru, and definitely a strong character again.
