When will you learn to stop expecting good things from Makoto and just embrace the darkness in your soul? (I pose this question often to my friend who mains Makoto, and he hesitates a little more each time. I can see he's dying on the inside.)
-
Make it a DP and you have yourself a sale sir. Really any time you use Ley Ley defensively you're rolling the dice, especially since Ignis doesn't have a move that hits behind/where Relius is. Give our wife an attack with the hitbox a gold burst would have, give it invulnerability of some kind too, I don't care if it would take 50~75% of her gauge. Ley Ley is like half a DP too in a sense, it has the invincibility but lacks the hit box.

I use Ley Ley like it is OP in every match-up. I'm kinda famous for that now. (It was a typo at first but I think I'm gonna keep calling it "Ley Ley." Sounds cute as heck.)

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
Myoro replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Merkava's is defiantly "Creul Penguin" -
There's also those rare times where you want the opponent as far-the-heck-away as possible where one might use j.214B->nodash/backdash as an ender. (Like if you can just nope their neutral at will.)

It's You, Necro, Wake-up DP, myself, the occasional lovely question asker, and a billion lurkers. The rest are prolly just stunned into silence by our awesomeness! But jokes aside, 1/5th of the reason I post help on G-FAQs is to inspire future Relius players to take up their Robo hands and wives so that they may one day help us find the new best thing about Relius. Spread the love too and one day we may get other posters here Did someone say, OPTIMAL COMBOS? I've been waiting for this. I need a list so that I can be the very best like no one ever was.
-
I just wish it were head invincible earlier.
-
Oh god no, after I work so incredibly hard to get Arakune into a corner, the last thing I need is Kagura or Ragna swooping in with "DRAGUN'S ASCENT" or "IN-FUR-KNOW DEEVIDA" respectively. (And it'd be safe too...) I would never stop crying.
-
Remember how suuuuper hard this combo is? turns out if you change the 5B to a 5A it's so easy a monkey could do it. Also we can break 5000 midscreen with 75 gauge and Max HP overdrive if ya didn't already know: 5B->3C->5A+B->6D->(CT hits)->665B->2C->6C->41236B->663C->OD cancel->2C->214A->632146D (5128Dmg/-69 gauge/-1/3rd ignis)
-
Oh crap Necro they're on to us! But yeah, the difference is we can get away with that crap, so clearly Relius is da bes. I do miss old Lanto though.

Many men claim to hate gods. But no seriously, she's whack. But truth be told, if ever there was a character with lag as a weakness it's Tao. It's like she's superman and lag is her Kryptonite. Neutral is horrible enough, but I hate what it does to her combos... 6C->5D~>A->6C->ETC corner combos drop the instant you try to A cancel. It turns a potentially 4000~5000 damage combo into two light taps and a dainty back-flip right back into neutral...

I wasn't really going over command normals, If you wanna do some cool write ups for our command normals, our ground normals, our Ignis moves, our situational magnetism/wind/gravity shenanigans, our good trades, or our distortions, we could see if we could get a page made out of it all. I'd love to know what exactly what's the optimal confirm in all the situations we're given, and I'm sure other Relius players would too.
-
Side note: I was spamming OD Lanto in training mode and if your back's to the corner and it hits (Off of anything) you can just use it use it twice more times then duck or jump and your opponent will then be in the corner behind you and you can hit them with 3C for oki. It's so lazy, but so beautiful. EDIT:Just remembered you could always do that using 214A->214B->214C and get a full OD combo... Derp.

Not really too cool an info dump, but one none the less. This is a study of air normals and How/when they should be confirmed in air to air situations. I figure Relius' air game is not the best I've seen so we should get all we can from it. Note#1:These assume four things, that your opponent is in the air with you, that you do not trade blows, that you are currently jumping toward the opponent, and that you and the opponent aren't currently under momentum altering effects like Tager's Magnetism, Rachel's wind or Kokonoe's graviton. Note#2: These are all midscreen scenarios, but the only real difference in confirming corner combos is the presence of "falling 'non A' Air normal->665B->6B->TKj.236C->2C->6C" combos, "Low to the ground air normal-> low to the ground air Lauger->2C->6C" combos and "Air normal->j.236C->214A/4D/6B->whatever" combos. Basically as a rule of thumb if I state that midscreen it can be confirmed in to a ground move use 5B->TK lauger path or low to the ground air lauger paths, if not confirm into 4D/6B/~214A at normal jump height 4D/~214A at super jump height, and just ~j.214A at double superjump height. The only exception to this rule is that Raw j.236C->5B->2C and j.A/j.B->j.236C->5B->2C work so long as the opponent isn't higher up than you. j.A: Under a normal situation canceling J.A into j.B/j.C->j.236C~>j.214B on j.A's first or sixth hit is best. If you are too close to the ground be sure to cancel straight into 236C as j.B and j.C will not stop your falling and your opponent will go free. Counter hit J.A: Rising Counterhit J.A is no different on Rising hit, around mid jump and on falling it can be confirmed into 6B->superjump->j.B->j.C->j.236C~>j.214B for more damage, if you're at midjump you can do 66B->jump nine direction to cross them up. when you're extremely close to the ground and the opponent's close enough for j.A to hit, j.A (one hit) can confirm into 2C->6C->41236B->3C for 3C Oki and 1800ish damage or 2C->6C->41236B->5B->5C(one hit)->superjump->j.B->j.C->j.236C~>j.214B->airdash for 2700ish damage. J.B: typically this is confirmed into j.C if you are higher up than them/236C if you're lower than them. on falling j.B you can confirm into 2C for a full combo, for about 3000 damage but if the opponent is extremely close to the ground you can use 5B->2C if you'll land first. in almost all situations, If it coulda confirmed into 6B, you cold have confirmed it into 5B->2C/2C for way more damage. Counter hit J.B: Proving once again why it's our main Relius air to air for a reason, it can confirm from any mid jump or falling scenario into 3000 damage with ease. On rising counterhit, if you can manage to confirm it properly, you can use j.A right as you reach the end of a normal jump and use 2C->6C at you touch the ground for a full combo for roughly 2800 damage. Rising superjump CHj.B can be comboed into another j.B then 2C->6C->full combo, which looks really cool. at mid superjump or double jump counter hit you usually have to dash 5B to reach the opponent and combo. Falling CHj.B is really easy to confirm into 5B->2C->6C for a full combo. J.C: This one gives you the least options, You can only really combo into 5B/2C/6B on falling j.C. j.C makes the opponent go upwards so there will be times you'll have to confirm into 6B sadly. (This will usually happen if the opponent is at your altitude or higher. For rising/mid superjump, j.236C/j.8D->j.236C is the only solution, but no sane man would use j.C rising. mid jump you can do j.C->j.8D->land->superjump->j.B->j.C->236C~>214B->airdash Counterhit J.C: Rising, mid air, and falling Counterhit j.C can all be confirmed into 5B->2C->6C->full combo. On rising superjump it can actually combo only into 236C but mid superjump/falling superjump should be fine for 5B->2C combos. Depending on your opponent's altitude you might have to confirm into 2C or very rarely 66B. I'm not gonna even begin to cover j.XD because there are simply too many variables there. If someone would like to add their two cents in feel free to.

We need air Tedo or something, all of our distortions are useless midscreen cuz 50 meter isn't worthless enough to spend for the extra 200~400 we'd from get switching out our air enders midscreen.
-
Dang, I thought you'd stumbled on to something like the combo at 2:12 here which picks up from 214B midscreen. I still wanna know how to do that and the combo before it, I think we can mod them into our current stuff and get some Midscreen distortion enders for high damage.
-
So in the FC combo you say 2369C~>j.214B But in the other mentions you say 2369C~>j.214A Which one is it? Edit: I don't know why my post has this weird coloration... =/

That's rushdown vs rushdown alright, momentum controls the whole thing. Doesn't help that Relius is an inherently silly character what with his crazy pressure, and bonkers neutral, and a joke of a defensive game, watching two of him go at it is really a sight to behold even to those playing. That and punching out your identical twin and his identical wife is always gonna be a weird feeling. And even then I'm just about the most bizarre Relius that's ever been, treating ley like it was SSBM's dodges and attempting unblockables midscreen. Play against HARD_BREAD or Cuyosentenel and you'll probably get a different experience.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
Myoro replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Well that's tragic about the lack of playstyle info >_< But thanks all the same! Hyped about the new characters and release date tho~. Is there any evidence of this coming west anytime in the foreseeable future? Or is going to be another case of import only? (Didn't mind importing CP at first, but now everyone else can get stage DLC and can understand the story and game options so I feel a twinge of regret.) -
Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
Myoro replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Did it discuss her playstyle? if so can I have a link if you got one? -
It was clearly because you cheated. You totally hacked the game to make your Tager better than his! He wasn't rage quitting, he was kindness quitting to save you from dishonoring yourself further.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
Myoro replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
There's gonna be new characters? where's the confirmation of this? (Sorry for being outta the loop) -
The simple answer is pick Relius, he slips by everyone's radar.
-
Use 6A (or forward and A) to counter hit him for trying to j.D you. 6A has a few frames of head invincibility which will essentially make it beat j.D every time. after you counter hit him you can follow up with 2D->665C->whatever you want.
-
You could just Vinum the boy if that's the case. I assume you'd have 50 gauge to spare?
