You've gotten a good bit better! We need to play more often Necro, my vs Relius EXP is always in short supply.

SPOILER POST!I guess Large fancy door, full moon. Remind you of any game? Kingdom Hearts? I don't think we should write off P3 Protag too soon...
-
Win! Besides that seeing Non Persona Sho's Instant kill would be pretty cool, if you feel comfortable pulling it off. Best of luck!

It's worth mentioning that Ignis doesn't take "damage" the same way Nirvana does. Attacking her will desummon her and turn our bar blue indicating slowed recovery, but she will not take any additional loss to her Ignis health beyond the initial cost of the move she was using before-hand. Using Justice Phorizer is just as effective as using 5A or 236C to desummon her, so unless you absolutely need Phorizer's I-frames I'd suggest saving your meter. Ignis will take no damage in Duo Bios ether, and in this scenario she won't even get desummoned if she does get hit, or even if she dies (or even if Relius gets hit or dies for that matter.) Using Phorizer here is just about as sure a way as there can be to get counter hit by Duo Bios.

If I have room at neutral I try to send Ignis high into the air and use Tus to bog her down. She will then do one of two things, hit Ignis or stay on the ground. If she hits Ignis you know where she will be for a second and you can make that second count, and if she stays on the ground you can out range her with 5B/2B and put her in pressure. 4D is actually a godsend in this matchup as Tao likes to spend a lot of time being directly above you switching sides, but you get ONE CHANCE with it before she taps you and you're in pressure/combos/oki forever. On the defensive I sometimes forgo the futile attempt trying to catch Tao with our 2C, and instead use gaps in her pressure to summon Ignis again to try my hand at another 4D or perhaps a 236A+D. She can crawl 214B so use it with skepticism. In this match-up neither party can afford to screw up or let the other in, whoever gets that first hit (blocked or not) is hugely advantaged. (Coincidentally our j.A and airgrab are invaluable here.) If we land one hit on her and confirm into knockdown we can kill pretty fast, she has really crappy defense and we have amazing pressure, so just hold on tight and don't let go. Really this match-up should be called "fishing for cats." At round start you want to lock her down before she gets full access to all her neutral/movement madness. This is the only time I'd ever suggest starting with IAD j.A/IAD Airgrab. Once they get wise to that IAD Ignis summon is just as good. j.XD can keep her still for a moment and if you can confirm into j.236C~j.214B>airdash then that's even better j.236C>rapid>follow-up can be used if you're really hard pressed for lockdown. That move has an amazing hitbox considering the opponent at hand. Just don't miss or you'll cry yourself to sleep.

If you have Ignis out you can usually 4D upon landing from neutral jump j.C. I don't know if it'll catch safe jump though.

Problem with using 6A against Relius is that Relius is still free to do whatever he wants to Azrael after he hits Ignis, and all Azrael can do is Rapid. 5C lets you use Gustav 6C or growler after you hit Ignis, so it's generally safer to hit Ignis with this. (If you use 6A as your only solution against Ignis and you don't Rapid, I can almost guarantee you're going to get counter hit by 22C or 3C. 3C counterhit combos hurt, they give Relius full ignis gauge and good damage and screen carry. A Relius won't think twice about sending Ignis in to get hit if they can get one of these out of the deal.) No smart Relius will use 236C outside of a combo, unless it's as a punish. If you need Relius EXP I'd be more than happy to provide.

Dang. Well that's that I suppose. -
I usually go for 5B>3C>236C~214A>665C>j.C>j.236C~j.214B>falling j.B>2C>6C>41236B>5B>5C>4D>3C or whatever version of that I can use considering what came before the 236C. If I don't have enough Ignis to continue there are a ton of back doors in that combo that let you desummon her.

So is Stage and Music DLC US PSN only or is it available for the JPN PSN? If so how do I find it? (I'm no good at going through the Japanese PSN.) I know it was initially Alter Memory DLC, but I really don't want to put down money for that horrible anime, and I don't even know if that stuff's still in print. Is there any other way to get the Stage DLC for my JPN version. -
I'll PM you. I've got more than one nemesis lurkin' these boards, and I don't want where I live too widely known. >_>

Relius is pretty dang good rushdown. He has some of the best pressure and lockdown in the game (if not the very best) and isn't limited to only rushdown. Ignis is a superprojectile so he can't really be bullied by zoners in the way most rushdowns are. With Ignis out you can get good damage from anywhere, and without Ignis he's not completely useles (Even able to do full combos with oki while restoring his doll to full.) If you are bro enough to handle meter management and the teensy bit of execution he takes now and then, I'd definitely recommend him.
-
So CPU Relius taught me an interesting fact today. If you use OD while Duo bios is already active, the opponent is frozen and Ignis is not. I don't know yet how this can be used for evil

[CPEX] Relius Netplay, Critique, and Self-Improvement Thread
Myoro replied to NecroTheReaper's topic in Relius Clover
First match I saw you in was closer to 2:30. ANYWHO! Congrats on doing so well in your first tourney! I knew you had it in you! So how did it feel? You should totally stick with the name "Cotton" or something similar as a running gag. Anywho this is a critique forum of sorts so I'll give some reccomendations. Back to the corner Grab>41236B>Combo is wonderful when you don't have Ignis, it'll work on them so long as they touch the corner before they touch the ground. I see you didn't use it when you had the chance and you coulda finished them (you won that match anyway tho.) I see you usually confirm Tus into 2B>5B pressure or 2A>6A mix-up. I suggest doing 5B as a pick-up for both. Not only can you go into 5B>2C>6C if Tus really did hit, but 5B>2B>3C>jump/5B>6A>6D is much more effective mix-up ( especially 5B>6A because they see 5B>3C all day erryday.) If Tus happens to catch them in the air 5B will air unblockable them and you cn continue into 2C. That's all I got for now. Awesome matches. -
Between 8 and 9 mile if casuals are a thing I'll PM you the exact locations and directions (I gotta be careful right? The internet's a scary place.) Thanks for the potential ride! ^_^

I guess that's more than a little unreasonable, however those Miyukis were doing pretty well for themselves. And while I'd be a fool to expect top footage, I still expected something. For the Taigas I saw like 1 combo in that entire vid and the same unsafe specials repeated again and again as if that was all she could do. Seeing as She, Shizuo, and a select few other characters (Mostly assists,) are my friend and my entire reason so far for getting this game, I got a little concerned. But yeah, point taken, patience is a virtue that I sorely need right now. Will do. -
Runaway is actually the worst thing Relius can do in that situation. =/ When Ignis dies the order of best to worst things you can do are: Solo combos>solo pressure>Runaway>get hit. Relius is quite poor on the defensive, especially running away, so if he gives up pressure that's an invitation to destruction, one good guess for the Azrael and it's all over. I understand Az has limited movement, but if you push that to the limit you'll have no trouble catching up and pressuring him.
-
Az's 2C is a projectile so it will never affect Ignis. Never use 2C to anti air a good Relius because they will always bait it with j.5D, j.2D, or j.8D. We have no good answer for j.B crossups and j.2C at certain angles because all of our anti airs suck. (unless Ignis is out for the j.2C one. In that case 4D will wrek him) 5C will beat 214A and 214C. 5B will beat 214B. A savvy Relius can handle an Azrael backdash easily by using 6D on reaction when their moves whiff so be very careful about that because we can get 3000+ damage anywhere from that catch. 236D can also be growlered for Azrael balls. Azrael's 236B will NOT go though Ignis.
-
Be aware of where you stand though, he can do tricky things like 22B/C if you try to punish Ignis. Inferno divider's ability to blow up frame-traps comes in handy in this MU. If a Relius used 2D thinking it was safe you can correct him with an inferno divider in 2D's 3 frame gap. When you do use inferno divider on wake-up you're taking a gamble even if you have 50% meter to rapid, because of led ley. (You can't Rapid whiffs)
-
I think No-sho-na is stronger than Per-SHO-Na honestly. Put simply Minazuki looks gimmicky and easy to react to after one ore two matches, and my main man Sho is a complete baller with ambiguous neutral, combos and mix-ups.

I'd join in if I could find transportation. To bad I'm such a bum.

I can't stay pink for the life of me, so me going back to blue intentionally (Or green rather, cuz that's my favorite color) would hold a bit of a sad undertone. It'd be a bit less like "Yeah! **** the system!! who needs colors!!?" and more like "I couldn't beat the system even if I wanted to so I'm not trying..." I'm not a quitter, so when I can keep my pink status for a good long time then I'll give it up. When I do de-rank myself it will be AS A CHAMPION!

So were those Taiga players just bad or can she legitimately not combo, play in neutral, or get oki? Or am I just not seeing the the true greatness of these Taigas..? -
GGs to anyone I played. '3'
-
But Naoto is bad, so he needs some Teddie thrown in the mix to bring him back into S tier.
