  1. Hmmm....Side with XBL...or side with Makotos.............................................................................????????????
  2. But what if we dodged?
  3. I remember when we had our FT30 (against mAC) there were some matches where I would win the first rebel and then have to go into complete autopilot in round 2 just to mentally recuperate. Then try to win it in round 3 with as much yomi power as I could muster.
  4. How are you guys not banned yet? Also GGs Shadow Chaos and Speld
  5. I'm kinda split on the two pads for XB and Ps3. Stuff like microdashing, parrying, and switching to standing block/doing 632146 inputs without jumping are easier on Ps3. Tiger kneeing, fluid/circular motions, and air dashing are easier on the xbox controller for me though (also it doesn't hurt your hands after prolonged use). I'm willing to bet most Tagers (and Bullets!) would prefer to use the 360 pad over PS though. Edit:Also room up if anyone wants to join message me on XBL. (I can't check dustloop and play at the same time.)
  6. Might be starting a room a little later. Have to help my little brother with his homework.
  7. Is it because there are much more sucky people on PSN or is there tons of delay/input lag?
  8. Are you available at 10PM Eastern time Venussail? Rachel isn't my best matchup, but I promise I won't disband the room after 1 match lol. Anyone else looking at this is free to join too just message me on XBL.
  9. Yo Venussail! Whazzup? (We'll have GGs later) GGs to the few randoms I played today. BGs to IIIIII JIN IIIIII for kicking me after getting beat once.
  10. mAc Chaos learning Tager?...Oh god. The yomi Gadget Finger mixup, the got-your-ass Atomic Colliders, the psychic 720s. I can see it now.
  11. I am tempted to put the Mars Chopper and orb resets you just listed in there. Not that it matters with Extend almost over.
  12. I made an entire thread dedicated to gimmicks.
  13. Plus, pad is like a swiss army knife. You have a macro for everything.
  14. GGs to this room too. Oh I was wondering why you guys kept shouting HIGH whenever I was playing. My little brother broke my mic and I can barely hear you guys through the TV. High was the only thing I heard. Thanks I'll look into that j.CC thing. I'll also keep working on my defense so that I can block all the way through Du Bois. (or just jump like Errol said)
  15. Yes I admit that it's totally gimmicky, but you're only supposed to use it in a specific situation with proper yomi. If you jump over a D chain some Hazamas instinctively cancel the chain and then do 214D. If they see you airdash they do the flash kick; if you land they do stuff like falling fang or stance cancel. If you know the guy you're playing against does this, because you've downloaded him or whatever, then you can prey on his instincts to get a free combo and momentum. It's all about being in your opponent's head and knowing his thought proccess. There are other things like this that exploit the reactions that your opponent has hard wired into themselves. Ragnas doing 2A 66D or Hakus doing hop Hotaru in their pressure, because their opponent is good at teching throws with B+C. Or throw reject miss setups in general. Hell, DPing is high risk/small reward, but even the best Japanese players still do it. What? You mean you guys have never set up a comet cannon and then dash 2B'd Tager out of a sledgehammer? He sees a projectile. His instincts say, "Sledge that shit." You say, "I don't think so." Anyways, there isn't just ONE right way to play a character or even a matchup. There are lots of different things that will work if you know how & when to use them. Also: Getting in on Hazama or Lambda isn't a small reward at all, it's the point of the whole matchup.
  16. Don't know if you guys do this or not, but if Hazama is using flash kick to anti air your airdash approaches you can IAD j.2C to bait it by doing the move when you're in front of Haz. You can do the j.2C almost right in front of him and he'll still whiff. You recover way before he does and if he tries to press anything he gets counterhit.
  17. The White Sea Beat seems to always disband the room after I beat him once.
  18. GGS Deadliest That was some of the scariest Tager mixup I have ever seen. You have godlike Makoto spacing that I have to learn. Lol at my ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE bursting skills at the end.
  19. I only use AV to beat 5D and 6D. Most Lambdas react to your approach with the D swords. If you jump they 6D, this stuffs your airdash approach. If you start running they put out a 5D in your way. Even if you airdash over a 5D you still won't be able to hit Lambda because your j.C/j.CC/5B will be out of range. If you hesitate/do nothing from full screen, she starts setting stuff up. Lambda is still in control during all of these scenarios. Using AV makes it impossible for her to react to your approach. She loses the control over neutral she once had. She either has to guess which clone you'll be behind or use a move that hits all of the clones (her options for the latter are risky and leave her open). Or she can retreat which does nothing but back her up into a corner. @Hiago: I don't use AV just to avoid getting hit. Doing what I listed gets you a guaranteed hit if she whiffs a sword. Lambda controls way too much of the screen in this matchup. She basically has to make a mistake in order for you to get in. Good Lambdas (which I have never played apparently...) don't make these mistakes. You have to force these mistakes on her by making her guess. I know using AV in neutral is risky, but the reward is huge in this matchup and greatly outweighs the risk. Jesus how do you people play against Hakumen? Do you just never do any attacks because there is a risk that you might get countered??? Have any of you even tried to do this against a Lambda yet? You know...test this out before you tell me it's stupid.
  20. GGs to you too. Also GGs to Tsunna and Gungnir, lol I couldn't beat either of these guys. If by that one drop you mean when I barely got a level 2 punch after an infinite rush rapid cancel that would have killed him, then yes...that made me sick too. #bitchugotlucky
  21. She has to be at a certain distance for it to be 17 frames (if they are too close you can react to the hitstop of the first hit and still block it), which usually telegraphs that they are going for the overhead. Also, it might just be me, but the crazy splits animation looks nothing like any of her other moves and makes it really easy to react to. It also looks much different from 3C, the other part of that high low mixup. I'm not saying I never get hit by it, but it's probably the overhead I block the most consistently.
  22. Lambda's stuff is easy to block though, so it's not as bad if you get caught a couple of times. Like Bibi said though once you get in she usually has to burst/CA to get out. (Is it just me or are Lambdas notoriously bad blockers?) My approach to Lambda in neutral is luck based. From full screen I do one of these: 66 -> 214B -> j.C (Beats 5D) - This hits from full screen even if she's crouching. 214A -> 66 -> 5B (Beats 6D) 66 -> 2A+B (Lets me react to all of her slower options like Spike Chaser, Cavalier, jumping, or sword rain distortion). She'll have to guess which clone you're hiding behind if she's zoning with 5D/6D. If she guesses wrong once you're in and have a good chance to take the rebel. After you get in a couple of times using Asteroid Vision they start doing stuff like Cavalier in neutral to hit all of the clones. AKA stupid stuff that you can punish. Now it's just a full screen game of rock paper scissors.
  23. Since we're discussing our matchups / venting... What in the world are you supposed to do against Bangs that use the D nails to approach? They stuff my ground approach, come out too quickly to chase after he IADs backwards, and if you jump you still get put into blockstun and have to block mixup/lose. Parrying the nails works if he dashes in behind them, but that's hella hard to do consistently. Then once you start expecting the nails and hesitating, he approaches with dash 5B or IAD j.B. Then you're still blocking mixup/losing.
