Nearly $10K for some fighting game videos? Get real. Most of us wouldn't care if you made these in Windows Movie Maker, as long as the information was solid and the editing coherent. Here's a prime example of how to make a really effective tutorial video on a shoestring budget. Heck, you don't even need voiceovers. I don't like them, they're distracting and make it harder for me to process the info.

GG2 has much more in common with Herzog Zwei, Sacrifice and Savage than modern MOBAs like DotA and LoL, which are essentially modifications of WCIII. It plays and controls nothing like Warcraft, which is a major strike against it from the start. Not to mention that the MOBA genre is incredibly oversaturated right now, and most players are already deeply invested into one particular game (most likely LoL or DotA 2). I think they would get some sales from curious punters at first, but it would completely fail to gain any lasting traction with the PC audience, especially since it would be unplayable with a keyboard and mouse.

I wonder if Aksys is going to even bother with this. I don't think AH3 Vanilla sold well at all here, though it probably had a lot to do with its extremely poorly timed release right before the PSN hacker outage. And a lot of people, myself included, weren't happy at all with how they didn't do a physical release and refused to bring over the 360 version. Both of which their European counterparts delivered on.

The PS2 has a complete Darkstalkers collection, with every game and version in the series included, as well as the semi-new character Dee (sprite edit of Demitri with Donovan's specials, intended to be Donovan after his vampiric side takes over). It never had online play and was only released in Japan, though. Vampire Resurrection got a retail release in Japan on both consoles, but it's the same game. As for the PSP version's availability, it was a launch title for the system, so it got a pretty large print run and was widely distributed.

The hell are you talking about? The Kinect wasn't even announced when GG2 released, and the 360 has been home to many other so-called "animu" and "slasher" games from practically the beginning. Ninety-Nine Nights, Ninja Gaiden II, Senko no Ronde, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and Eternal Sonata were all available in the early years of the system, and were all permanent or timed 360 exclusives. Microsoft Japan made a committed effort to push the system in that region, buying up tons of quality exclusives from JPN developers. Just as not every Steam user is a Gaben-worshipping TF2 hound, not every 360 player is a Mountain Dew-chugging Halo/Gears brodude. I've already explained why GG2 was a flop, and it was because of the game itself, not Arc's decision to put it on the 360. Consider that the PS3 was still floundering in 2007, with its future very much in question.

I think most people would rather play on a proper setup than with the piddly controls of a handheld. The netcode on that version is rather questionable as well.

Welcome to the forums Stealthizm! Glad to see that the Darkstalkers XBL playerbase hasn't dropped off the face of the earth. I've played VS on Supercade before, but it's really inconvenient to set up my stick and I'd rather use a port than emulation. I should read up some more on the character threads myself...I had kinda ignored Q-Bee before, but she's becoming one of my favorite characters to use.

[MB] The Maxi Boost General Discussion Thread
TAI-X replied to Setsuna Yuki's topic in Gundam Extreme Versus
The game after this should be Gundam vs. Macross, who's with me? Could make for some really interesting match-ups. I wonder when they're going to start adding SD Gundams to pad out the roster. -
People hated the game on 360, what makes you think they'd like it better on PC? Not to mention that the very idea of playing a RTS with a controller is anathema to the PC Master Race, even if the game was designed for it.

Really long promos like this one are meant to be played on loop in store displays.

Another good session with Byte, with some extra Vampire Hunter action. You should definitely play VS Felicia more; she was tearing up my Sasquatch. I'm more fond of her VH incarnation with the sand blast and bouncing roll specials, though. As good as it is, Vampire Hunter has some needlessly unorthodox and annoying commands for basic specials. Like, why is air Soul Fist 896P instead of 236? Thankfully, all of this was rectified in VS. I also got in some more XBL matches with a very courteous Anakaris player who must have seen my posts here and friended me. Maybe he'll grace the forum with his presence.

Whaaaaat?? GG2 was completely designed around online multiplayer, that's why they released it on 360. Did you just look at the screenshots and think it was a Dynasty Warriors clone?
-
Oh man, that had to have been the inspiration for her super.
-
GGs to Download Byte. Our Liliths both have a lot of room for improvement, but I've gotten better at landing the DI.
-
Manaka is one of those characters that are amazing for cheesing noobs, but don't hold up well against players that really know what they're doing.
-
GGs to Sol.Badguy for helping to keep this game alive. As expected, you totally flattened a beginner like me, but the Paradigm vs. Valentine match I had with your friend that you passed the controller to was really close and intense. I've added him, and hopefully we can give it another go if he has his own copy.

Unless it's SFxT, where timeouts happen nearly every single match no matter how good the players are. -
Guilty Gear games pulled from GOG.com (#Reload & Isuka)
TAI-X replied to Jotamide's topic in Guilty Gear General
At least it had netcode at all, which was a real rarity among fighting games of the PS2/Xbox generation. Back then, you were happy with what you could get. -
What happened to their plans of removing all copyrighted MLP references from the game and reskinning it into a generic horse fighter to get around Hasbro's C&D notice? Do they just not care anymore if it's "underground?" But I thought Lauren Faust was getting involved? Whatever. Bronies will be bronies. How is this fad still going?

Guilty Gear games pulled from GOG.com (#Reload & Isuka)
TAI-X replied to Jotamide's topic in Guilty Gear General
Just to cover all the bases, I'll mention that the Xbox version of #Reload is still downloadable for 360 as an Xbox Classic, and the disc is backwards compatible. Obviously, the online doesn't work anymore. -
If a mass-market game like GTA V can get away with a mandatory install on Xbox 360, then BBCP had no excuse. They just didn't want to print the extra discs for what they decided was an insignificantly small percentage of their consumer base.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
TAI-X replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Doubt it. Capcom's been using the SFIV models for close to 6 years now. And yes, the same sprites were carried over from GGX through AC+R. -
That still wouldn't be a valid case if that game's problems begun and ended with Dante's transformation into a Tameem Mary Sue.
