  10. I don't see any similarity to Samurai Shodown in GG at all. Like, legitimately none. If GG reminds me of anything it's Vampire Savior.
  11. I'm sure there are a handful of people still on vanilla but I guarantee you 100% of serious players have moved onto Extend.
  12. Every single major for the next few months is running BB, not OVER GG but in addition to it. I don't know if you're one of those people who thinks Evo is the only thing that matters or not, but by that logic we should all just drop everything except for SF4 and Melee. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't spread blatant misinformation to impressionable new players. Myself I would rather play the "worst" BB than any GG game, but even still read my first post...people should play what THEY find fulfilling. Check your bias at the door, there is no "war" between the communities no matter how hard you try to instigate one.
  13. Movement...okay let's see. First of all, understand that Bedman's movement is very different from the rest of the cast. You say you play Marvel, so think of how Doom's dash kinda has that slower, clunkier effect to it, that's Bedman's dash. However, Bedman's dash isn't so much for movement as it is for its special properties. If your opponent attacks you during this dash's active frames, you'll disappear and teleport up to them, sort of like a parry. His walk speed is notably faster than some characters, and he can crawl if you need to move slowly or go under stuff. But by far his most notable movement options are his air ones. If you press 8 in the air, Bedman will go into a "hanging" state in the air where he'll hover. The next direction you press will send him flying that way, like an air dash but not quite. It's worth noting that unlike most characters who can only airdash forward or backwards, Bedman can move in any of 8 ways. Furthermore, since it's not a "true" air dash, you can actually FD while moving, which is something no other character in the game can do. If you want to do a "IAD" your input would be something like 886, this way you go into hang state ASAP by double tapping 8 and then you instantly move forward. Also remember that if you want to do an attack at the earliest possible point of air movement, use the button as part of the input, for example 886K. Experiment and get used to this, it's a little awkward at first but once you get it down you realize just how much freedom of movement you have.
  14. You have absolutely no way of knowing any of that, unless you have a time machine. BB is still getting updates too and was at Evo last year. Furthermore, Evo is not the only competitive tournament in the world. BB isn't going anywhere, whether you like it or not.
  15. I'm cool with that, half the time I find myself reading the other character's MU thread just to see what annoys them anyway.
  16. Honestly I really think age is just a number. There are older people than you out there bodying people in every game. Look at Valle, he's like 37 and he's still wrecking people in SF4. That said, it's possible you're having issues unrelated to the game that are only making it worse. If you're getting aches and pains you might want to see your doctor before you sit down for another fighting session.
  17. A bit late, but...I think it's Grant George. Listen to the way his voice softens at the end of sentences, more specifically when he ends words. It's difficult to describe. At first I thought Steve Blum because it sounds exactly like his voice from COD Black Ops...but not quite.
  18. They said no balance changes + it's literally locetest impressions, not much reason why it shouldn't be the same as last game.
  19. Because you made the distinction between the Persona community and the other two, that's all. I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't a universal issue because it absolutely is, and anyone who doesn't believe me is free to check out EventHubs comments sections lol. The desire to stamp out misinformation is noble, but to actually execute it is not so black and white. It seems like some of you think there's some boogeyman that intentionally wants to mislead people with faulty info, this is not usually the case. Most misinformation either comes from one of two fronts. 1.New/inexperienced players being salty (I hate this character, he shuts down all of my options, etc.) This can be easily proven wrong with objectively truthful information, these people are not trying to sabotage anything and furthermore there's no reason to mistreat them when you can be patient and prove them wrong. If they continue to be pigheaded then oh well, let them be a lost cause who won't ever improve. 2.People who were misinformed themselves or genuinely don't know any better. Let me give you an example. I was watching an Adachi "tutorial" on Youtube to try and get some more info on him, and this vid encourages the viewer to use his DP often, which is "amazing because it hits both overhead and low." Now I'm not really a Persona player, and in fact if this statement is true and I'm wrong, then it only proves me right because I don't know any better myself. Point is, I highly doubt the creator of that video was trying to mislead budding Adachi players to start mashing out his DP all day long and get themselves blown up with counterhit combos. I have to also say that you specifically using the phrase "to make fun of" is very concerning. I'm all for laughing at some arrogant shitposter who thinks he knows the game based off minimal experience (shoutouts to Scrubquotes), but a lot of times that's not what happens. By going this route you discourage discourse to new/inexperienced players, because they will dread opening their mouths lest they get made fun of by the same players they look up to. This creates a high school clique image, is this what you want? I don't think it is, but that's how it looks to the little guys. I'm not sure I"m even qualified to make this post because I don't play Persona, but some of what I'm reading is genuinely worrying to me. I know, the very desire to cut misinformation off at the roots is, in and of itself, part of desire to make things better for new/inexperienced players, but some of the measures I've seen taken are very counterproductive. In fact I would dare say that you should be especially mindful of how you treat less experienced players in Persona because you're going to see a lot more of them due to crossover JRPG fanbase. It's your call though. I have a feeling this post was better suited for the DL community thread...maybe I should bring it there?
  20. It's been there before at least twice! If anything I think next year will be GG and BB on mainstage with Persona as a side tournament. Only time will tell though.
  21. If you're concerned about getting left behind in a "dead " game, don't worry about that. Things have gotten a lot better as events are running both Xrd and BBCP and will probably continue to do so. If your game doesn't make it as a "featured" game on the event, there's a serious chance it will be there as a side game.
  22. I tried delaying it but it ended up pushing them too high for the full 2C 6C Gad Leis combo to connect : ( I'll keep at it though, thanks.
  23. BB overall is probably more popular but right now GG is in a serious boom due to not just having a new game but returning after a long absence. There's 0 reason why you can't play both but in the long run you should play which one YOU prefer.
  24. Would you mind telling me how this is not an issue shared by Persona?
