  1. I don't know how many of you have read the footsies handbook on SonicHurricane (http://sonichurricane.com/?page_id=1702) but here and there it will link you to specific match vids that demonstrate specific things that they want to bring to your attention. Maybe instead of just dumping a bunch of videos, we can make sure to highlight ones that do this? Like if there's a specific thing a player does with their character, include a video that very specifically demonstrates it well?
  2. We have a "news only, anything else = infraction" thread for most games, maybe something similar to that for characters? Like you're not supposed to be talking about story fluff in character threads anyway, but how about threads that are exclusively "need to know" information that has been verified through results?
  3. A nerfed Faust would still be a difficult MU for those characters. It's not a matter of Faust being top tier, it's a matter of him being a good character against them. If they nerfed him that's one thing, if they take away his tools to shut them down then yes I would switch to someone else, like Elphelt I guess. And even if he YRCs it can't you just cancel the 3H? It's been so long since I bothered with Bedman, I don't remember if it was jump cancellable or not.
  4. It might be best to just let Zepp Museum be the general non-gameplay dump, that's pretty much what it is anyway and no amount of moderation attempts is going to change that. But you know, there's other GG/BB and especially other Persona related forums on the internet for discussion of story, characters, etc. I can tell you that if you try to crack down on Zepp you will probably lose a small handful of the userbase, although given that DL is primarily a gameplay forum and always has been, whether that's a significant loss or not is up to the staff I guess. I'm not going to lie to you, I've had several people tell me they're intimidated to even post anything because they're afraid someone will misconstrue their beginner questions as someone intentionally saying ignorant shit and that someone is going to come in and dump all over them. I don't know how many of you remember that whole debacle in the BB gameplay thread where SKD had to come in and correct people for saying ignorant things, but basically some people are afraid that they'll have to seriously grovel or else be misunderstood as one of those people he had to correct. Usually it's easy to tell when people are genuinely asking for advice, but well...sometimes people, especially beginners, get salty and word things poorly out of frustration. Unless someone is blatantly being a "scrub" and going off on a rant at how Potemkin is OP because he does big damage, at least.
  5. This is absolutely important, although some people may not realize it. A big part of fighting games is shit talking and popping off, and I wouldn't want to be part of an FGC without that spirit, but save that shit for when you're actually playing someone in a close match and not when you're talking to a complete newbie. Remember that new players may sometimes say things that you think or ignorant, but that doesn't give you an excuse to go off on them when you can just correct them. In fact unless you're known top level it may not hurt you to humble yourself and accept that YOU can still learn and grow, that's how I approach it anyway. Just know that on the outside looking in there's a lot of things we do that probably make people uncomfortable. For instance, there was this thread on here a few years back, I don't remember who made it and I don't care to, it was extremely condescending and was basically an immature rant about how SF4, Marvel, MK and Smash are more popular than Guilty Gear is. There's no reason for this. You may not like those games, but if you don't treat their players and scene with respect then you are doing more harm than good. In fact, when the Evo lineup was announced this year, I remember some salt from the UNIEL and BB camp about how two "unreleased games" were taking spots, even though we all knew MKX would be out by the time Evo came around. Don't do that. Don't try to play messiah, try to play the shepherd. It's not the same thing.
  6. It actually makes perfect sense, because if the DLC wasn't cross buy you would have to buy everything twice. Just buying Leo and Elphelt would be 32 dollars just for two characters, because you would be essentially be paying for four of them.
  7. Sol is pretty much the reason I don't play this guy anymore. It was never a concern of "can Sol be beaten consistently" but rather "why should I have to put in all this work when other characters can do it for less" and that's how I became a Faust player. Nanigaderukana.
  8. It sounds like he might have confused the game itself with the DLC. Unless something has changed, the DLC is absolutely cross buy.
  9. I still feel like Elphelt and Sol are more annoying but Venom is definitely up there ugh.
  10. Also I'm not sure if that combo works off a short starter (I don't think so) but if you want a similar one that does, try 2A 5B (5C) 236C 66 5C 2C 4D 6A OR 2A 2B 5B 236C etc. It's pretty much the same result except without the TK lauger.
  11. FYI for the corner routes that go into 5C 2C j.236C 2C 6C etc, you don't NEED to TK the j.236C, a simple jump will do as long as you're fast enough, you have a decent amount of time. It might depend on the character though.
  12. You can't 6P or airthrow?
  13. Wow close your account scrub smdh.
  14. Well the Smash scene went through it already and to an extent so did MKX with the variations. Won't stop people from picking something they like and making it work though.
  15. Another good example is rekka, which is now the universal FG terminology for a sequential special, taken from Fei's Rekka Ken.
  16. I think you confused Seth Killian with David Sirlin.
  17. I really don't know what they were thinking with that 236D change, maybe they found something to justify it that we don't know about. Otherwise I can't think of why they would do such a thing.
  18. That's kind of a strange decision to be honest, because Pokemon itself has always been a series that balances casual kid friendliness with a seriously deep and at times mind-bendingly confusing meta. A Pokemon fighter seems like it should be something more like SF or something where it's simple to pick up but hard to get good at.
  19. You're definitely not alone in thinking of him as Ragna first, but I guess it's because that's like his most memorable protagonist role. If it helps I think of most of the BB guys as primarily their BB characters first and foremost. My bro and I used to call English T. Hawk "Hawkumen" in SF4 for exactly that reason.
  20. Patrick Seitz didn't get cast as Scorpion until MK vs DCU but that still predates the English version of BB.
  21. Blazblue doesn't usually do third party characters.
  22. Unless they reduce the attack level for 5B like they did for j.5B before in which case people could probably stuff that with a jump normal. Don't think they won't do it!
  23. Well if Zato is any indication it's not like we'll be just throwing it out willy nilly anyway. Maybe it would work to let our opponents forget we have it and use it sparingly? Any Zato players wanna comment?
  24. I definitely want in on that group when I get a chance. I'll PM you with the stuff.
