  1. When I see reaVer get a CH 2H, he whiffs l3SV... (Sorry, I had to.) So, why doesn't the IAD loop work in the corner? Also, how much better is an IAD loop than just c.S, 2S 2D, like I usually do? If it will improve the damage of my chargeless ground gatlings by a ton, then I'll have to learn the timing...

  3. So, for a while I was trying to learn S Benten FRC. I could get it half the time or maybe a bit more in training. But I'd almost never get it in a match, and then, a day or so later, I wasn't getting it very often at all. How long does it generally take you guys to learn FRCs? I dunno if I just have terrible timing in general...
  4. So, for a while, I kept hearing about how amazing Potemkin was, but recently, he's moved down in the lists. Why is that?
  5. I'll ask again, because I didn't get an answer the first time: Is the IAD loop actually an infinite? If not, why not? (I'm just curious as to why it works/doesn't.)
  6. Ah, thanks. So, if he's using balls that could go over Rensen, might 2P be viable? Maybe you could pull something fancy like 2P to hit, then cancel into 623P to eat the ball? Maybe even 63214S if you're being really flashy?
  7. Easy, good FRC too. I don't play Slayer, but 6P FRC and basic BBU combos tempt me... And stuff like 6P > BBU. Slayer is just amazing... So many options... So much damage...
  8. Do you really need to specifically bait the DAA? Wouldn't that be giving him the pressure escapes he wants? Couldn't you just accept that he might blow 50% on a momentum reversal every so often? Or do you lose if he lands a DAA?
  9. Touche. But what of Slayer's doesn't deal huge damage? The original post said something about Jam 2K 2D into huge damage, which I thought was dubious... At least, probably not worth the resources.
  10. Yeah, but that takes good timing. Also, I've been meaning to ask, but is the IAD loop a true infinite? If so, is it not used because, at a certain point, the opponent would be gaining too much burst meter for the damage to be worth it? Also, how do I go into Fafnir from a non-CH 5H? Is it just tight timing? I can get Fafnir off CH 5H fairly easily... Oh, and I should be delaying my j.Hes after j.Ds in Dloops, to let myself and the opponent fall more, right? Because it seems the only way to get a rejump j.H... Currently, I'm at the stage where I want to Dloop off of everything, and I just do j.H, j.D, dj.H, dj.D, l1BRP. Edit: If the IAD loop isn't an actual infinite, what stops it from being one?
  11. "Huge damage" off a prorating 2K? Now this I'd like to see... Still, damage in this game is ludicrous. But, the freeform combos are part of why I love it.
  12. Nono, you get hit with a CH j.H from Slayer and lose half your life. You get hit with an FB puffball and lose half your life... You get hit with CH Fafnir and lose half your life. Off of random, tiny pokes, you might take 100 damage. Maybe. But, for example, no one would do a huge, resource-intensive combo off a wimpy, prorating 5P... But yes, damage in this game is pretty silly. I'm a scrub, but my O-Sol busts out half-life combos all the time...
  13. Oh no... Not Robo-Ky's presidential campaign again... On the topic of tier lists, I find Ogawa's list pretty weird, because, well, Potemkin is down there with Sol and Chipp... And, of course Ogawa puts Eddie at #1...
  14. So, 5H j.H vs. ground cannot be landed on Baiken, Zappa, Faust and May thus far. I got it to work on Buri, which surprised me. Anyway, it's pretty cool. Obviously, doesn't work on crouchers. Well, maybe Potekmin crouching. It deals nice damage + knockdown for its low cost of no resources, but the fact is, you have to dash into it. I don't know how practical it is against seasoned players, but I like it. One can cancel the j.D into l3SV and then combo further, but an RI or BRP combo would deal more. Still, it's pretty flashy.
  15. So, one of my longstanding frustrations with Order-Sol was that I couldn't get a knockdown off of c.S, 5H without charge. But no more! Against taller characters (Or at least those who're tall during standing hit stun,) I can do: dashing c.S, 5H, j.H, j.D! It gives me 134 + knockdown, and due to j.D's blowback, It will very often put the opponent in the corner.
  16. I know this isn't really Potemkin related, but in that video, what the hell kind of corner throw combo was 0 going for there? He did j.P, a bit of stuff, then dropped it. Why not j.H, j.D, dj.H, j.D, l2BRP? Is there some better corner throw combo vs. Slayer? Did 0 just make a mistake?
  17. That list looks fucked up. First off, why is Testament below Eddie? Not saying that it shouldn't be, but Testament and Eddie seemed to be uncontested top two forever. Second, is Jam really that high? Thirdly, I thought Potemkin was top 4... Whatever. Also, isn't Axl pretty damn good? That list is just weird in general. And not as amusing as Flashmetroid's.
  18. I prefer the female Testament, personally... But still, women playing male characters are win. A female Johnny or Anji would be really nice...
  19. I've got it down. Somewhat. Anyway, thanks. Now I have Lvl3 combos for midscreen, corner and when I'm in ther corner. Has anyone noticed that a dashing 5H CH can sometimes combo into l1GB? I was just messing with this, and while it's probably pretty useless, it's kinda cool. Comboing into higher levels of GB is easier, but of course requires charge.
  20. Oh, of course I'm buffering the 236. But are you telling me I can press the button before the BRP fully recovers? What I'm asking is, what is the window of time to push the button and have an l3BRP come out?
  21. Ok, so, I was trying this, and my damage versus normal defense peaked at 258. Here's my combo versus Testament: dashing c.S, 5H, l3SF, dahs, 5H, j.H, j.D, dj.H, dj.D, l1BRP. Seems solid enough, as it's 30 points more than c.S, 5H, l3TR. But how would I get much more damage? How big is the window for a second l3BRP after l3BRP? I can't seem to get it... One more thing: What's the trick to landing and rejumping during a dust loop? I can never seem to generate enough untechable time to do this... How much does inseting a c.S before the rejump or a j.S after the rejump hurt the damage?
  22. No, it just means you're a political junkie. We need more of those. On the topic of Axl combos, do any of you ever use H-Benten RC to set up a B-loop? It works from surprisingly far from the corner, and it's not so hard to combo into... Anyway, I like it. It lets me get B-loops off of not-corner stuff.
  23. Isn't the FRC on the first few active frames? Wouldn't you need to be crazy fast to confirm the move itself? Also, why would you lose a knockdown? You'd still keep regular Rensen... The FB would just replace the FRC. Also, to whoever suggested a ground Bomber FB, I would love that. It would give me SO many more B-Loop opportunities... Edit: What I had meant was confirming that the Rensen had hit before FRCing.
  24. Wait, you're telling me you hit confirm the Rensen itself before FRCing? That's crazy... Or do you mean you hit confirm the preceding move? Even so, wouldn't you want to FRC it to continue pressure if blocked? But really, how many Axls would complain?
  25. Yeah, I know it has to be muscle memory, but I've no way to get that muscle memory started. Also, how should I follow up a midscreen Benten FRC? Benten FRC seems to lead to pretty crappy damage midscreen. Should I do j.Stuff, FB Bomber, B-Loop? What if I don't have the tension?
