  1. Holy shit, Bomber loops are awesome. I LOVE the freedom afforded by them. I can combo basically freestyle, like I'm playing Sol, but unlike Sol, I'm dealing huge damage really easily + knockdown. (I'm a scrub at Sidewinder loops.) Now, I'm inconsistent at Benten FRC, but for these corner combos, I'd gladly pay 50%. Still, I need to get it down, both for when I have 25-50%, and for midscreen, where my combos are NOT worth 50%. Or, hell, considering the scrubby combos I pull, I guess they are. 50% for 50 damage + knockdown ain't half bad, considering I get more pressure if I was blocked. P.S. I love Benten FRC. P.P.S. How do you time Rensen FRC? Is there a way to do it visually? Aurally?
  2. So, I was messing with Axl in training mode late last night, and I discovered... That I can actually do S Benten FRC a good chunk of the time! So excited about this, I had to come up with some combos off it... For midscreen, I have 623S FRC, 6K, 2S, 623H, 623H (113 + knockdown). In the corner, I came up with 623S FRC, j.K, j.D, Bomber, 623H, 623H (147 + knockdown). Now, I know you guys will tell me how scrubby these combos are, and how I should be B-looping in the corner, but, well... I never learned the B-loop. I should do that now. Anyway, I'm going to experiment with FB Bombers to get my opponent to the corner for H Benten combos.
  3. Let me see... Benten FRC should be on the first couple active frames, so not only does it give more frame advantage, its hit and whiff timings are the same. H Benten should be given a better hit box. Oh, and you know how canceling into certain specials seems to push you back hella far? That infuriates me. Benten, both S and H, should NOT push you back when you cancel into them! (Actually, it could just be the push-back from the preceding normal that hasn't happened yet...) Anyway, I love H Benten combos, as they do more damage than Rensen combos for the same number of normals. (Regular Rensen combos, not Rensen FRC combos. Speaking of which.) Make Rensen FRC and FB instead! What I mean is, remove Rensen FRC, and make a Rensen FB that recovers as quickly as a Rensen FRC does now. This isn't really a buff, but damn do I hate FRCs!
  4. How would I get a knockdown off an l3RI midscreen, without just letting the opponent fall? If I want midscreen Level 3 knockdowns, should I be using BRP instead, for l3BRP, l2BRP? How wasteful is it considered to combo into l3TR? What about DI: Sakkai? I've been in the habit of using both of those lately... Well, actually, I've been in the habit of using l3TR since I started playing Order Sol, because it's so goddamn EASY and gives me 200+ damage. And, of course, ending a round with DI: Sakkai is the most stylish thing ever.
  5. I've got a combo that expends a full charge gauge, but deals 210 + knockdown without tension. Tested in corner vs. Testament. Dashing c.S, f.S, 5H, l3RI, 5H, j.S, j.D, l2BRP. I have no idea who else it would work on, nor whether a midscreen variation could be developed. I *had* a version that dealt 216, but I can't seem to figure out what it was...
  6. Ah. So really, the glitch is marginal, but every so often, it works in your favor? If the FB flash is even a frame after the cancel, the opponent can block, right?
  7. But then, within how many frames on either side of the cancel does the FB flash have to be? Which windows give which effect?
  8. 5P-6K gatling, 2P-2H gatling, 2H special cancelable again. These would probably make him too good by a fair bit... And my perennial request for Rensen as a non-charge command. Oh, and buff 623P. make it come out on the first frame, give it back wallbounce on non-CH, make the attack invulnerable all the way through. Also, give back he 50 damage you took away from 214P between X2 and AC!
  9. You must not play the CPU then... It does this a TON. The one good habit you can get from fighting the computer is to never do an air attack that can be crouched...
  10. This is one of the most interesting gameplay threads I've read... About the whole Counter FB thing, have you tested it on an arcade cab? Do you know if it's a console-specific glitch? Here's how I think it works: [F]RCs cancel the frame after the flash, or something. The FB hits during its flash, which is right as the [F]RC occurs. What's the timing on this thing? Do you have to do it the frame the opponent [F]RCs? If it is a 1F window, how the hell is this practical? You can't predict the frame the player will [F]RC. I'm REALLY interested in stuff like this... Maybe if I read enough threads like these, I'll become a good player... A man can dream, right? (Ok, a boy. I'm not 18 yet.)
  11. So, how should I approach? And how should I avoid those damn H attacks? What should I do if she starts chuckin' whales? Is there a way to punish them? If she has 50%, which options will leave me open to whaling?
  12. So, if I'm doing a block string, and I jump to bait a guard cancel, what should I do? My first instinct is falling j.H, 5K, 2D, BR. If I use a falling j.D, what kind of spacing is required for what kind of combo? Or will Baiken be safe? If I can only continue into pressure, my instinct would be to use a j.H vs. 2D vs. 5D vs. Wild Throw mixup.
  13. Why not sublet some of the work to other good Sol players? Not that I qualify...
  14. What should I do if I block and ice spike? I know I can't directly punish. Should I just dash in and 5K to start pressure? Attempt a Wild Throw? On a similar note, how should I bait an ice spike? Run and FD brake? I'm being caught by way too many... Then I get OTGed by a second ice spike... Should I just tech and air dash in in this case?

To whoever said that song sucked, go to hell, I mean SRK (Same thing). Edit: That Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy poster is one of the best in the thread. I loved that show back when I had cable.

  22. I'm with Blade on the EX tiers issue; I think that a tier list that includes EX characters would be very interesting. The problem is that you can't get people to play with them. They say "They're banned/unbalanced/STFU noob!". Problem is, they're banned because their balance is unknown, and of course the Arcade Standard. I would claim that the "They're not balanced/we don't know if they're balanced" argument is silly, because we simply don't know, and that's why we ought to test them. We never were assured that the regular roster had any degree of balance, were we? People would claim they will unbalance the game, but I've a solution. Ban any better than Eddie. There. done. Or, you can have some other standard, and ban if the character would otherwise be banned, IE, more dominant than #R Eddie. Of course, Kliff and Justice should be included in this research.
  23. Isn't the reversal backdash window one frame, whereas the reversal attack window is two? If that's the case, then I would always go for the reversal attack. 1F timings are just too hard.
  24. Get over it. She died in her OWN ending in X2... Dizzy killed her. So she's died in two endings now!
