Arizona "Arcsys Release Dates Give Us Erectile Dysfunction", Thread
TagAnarchy replied to Chumaralupa's topic in West Coast
Long post inbound: Meant to say this earlier, but i've been busy today and I keep getting caught up watching NWM. I want to come out and say thanks to all those who came out to the Guilty Gear ranbat yesterday. It was a fantastic experience getting to play those of you who were there, and to see some fresh faces. While I didn't meet my expected turnout quota, the high quality of the players who came out was beyond my expectations. I'd like to see us get better as a community and, had I the space, I would easily open up my house for casuals. Because that can't be, I'd like to issue a challenge to everyone reading this: If you came out yesterday, come on out again in two weeks for ranbat 2.4. Even if you don't consider yourself the best Guilty Gear player, what good will it do chilling exclusively in practice while having nobody to use what you've learned on? If you've never played Guilty Gear before, why not come and at least try it out? Think of the entry fee as a rental cost that gives you all day to try the game and see for yourself whether you like it or not. (I'm sure most on here have played it, but just in case someone on here hasn't) Lastly to those of you who didn't come out at all, I'm not angry, I just hope to see you next ranbat whether to play or just to watch. I understand life happens: people get injured, school is a thing, oversleeping is a pain (i've done it before), but having more people come out would be amazing as it would only up the quality of the players, both new and old. Anyway, GGs to the folks who made it out. Until next time. -

*PSA to all current Guilty Gear players and those who've been interested in it.* For this upcoming Ranbat on the 25th at TGZ I am openly sponsoring the first 20 players who choose to enter, no questions asked. The $5 venue fee is still on you, but i'll cover the game entry. Simple and easy to understand, right? I do this as a personal experiment and because I got a bonus at work this pay period and have some extra spending money. Hope to see you there with your game face on. -

I'm so angry. I overslept and now i've missed the Xrd tourney. Even worse, I have to miss the next one because of family obligations. D: I wonder if it's possible to still get 3rd place at least in the total ranbat ranking. >.> -

A surprise? I'm interested, but confused. And yeah Gunth, There's currently free monthlies that's hosted at UAT that we post about here quite often. With the emergence of the upcoming ranbat, there's going to be more Guilty Gear going on now. Just make sure to keep a lookout for this thread. it's consistently updated with the goings on of AZ's airdash games, along with the AZ FGC group on facebook. Of note, the facebook group encompasses all fighting games not just airdashers, so if you're interested in checking out some other games I highly recommend giving a swing on over. -
I'll address the rest because this is shorter. Pretty much everyone's blockstrings are infinite online. Offline though, there are some holes in his strings that can be taken advantage of. As I learn more about each character's primary blockstrings, i'll update this. I might just end up making a google doc of Byakuya matchup particulars for each character.
-
I'll address this first, since I've been meaning to lab this for a while. Mind you, this might be a bit of a read. Byakuya's round openers are kind of poor, especially when you consider the fact that near everyone has a projectile they can start a round with or simply outrange him with their normals/special moves My most common/safest round starter is just to backdash or back jump>Assault>Web to provide yourself enough space to start laying webs unhindered. At that point it's all about knowing how your opponent likes to start their rounds. I'll just give a few of the most common examples I can think of / have experience with. At round start, if your opponent: Tl;Dr These are just varying options that he has, but if you aren't versed in how your opponent likes to start their rounds or your opponent likes to start rounds differently each time, then the default backdash or back jump>web still fares as a far better option to start the round with at any given time.
-
One major note that extends to hilda, carmine, vatista, and eltnum(at low altitudes), is that you never EVER place webs from full screen against any of the aforementioned characters if they have 200 meter without having either established the fear of god in your opponent or having Chain Shift handy because you will get punished by their Infinite Worths without question.
-
Carmine and Byakuya work on the same principle of unrelenting pressure and setups without a reliable get out option if they start getting pressured themselves. In terms of the general matchup, you want to establish your pressure first and keep it tight so that carmine can't breathe. If Byakuya so much as gives Carmine a moment to properly space so he can get a puddle out and start his pressure, the only thing Byakuya can do is hope that Carmine drops his pressure so that webs can be set up once more. One thing of note that I keep handy is that if carmine does start his pressure, one of the easiest ways out is to get put into a blockstring and wait for carmine to throw out the blood wheel. Even with a puddle out, there's just enough space to poke Carmine with 2B and begin establishing pressure. Don't try this if Carmine throws out his Blood Spear to end the block string. It pushes Byakuya out of 5/2A range, and Carmine can stuff any of Byakuya's other buttons at that range. I'd go more in depth, but I'm at work. Hopefully this helps out some.

I honestly believe our UNIEL players are strong enough to take California and Georgia free. Just saying. Edit: The question is who would be on the Back Alley Alliance of AZ? -
It really depends on the spacing. I was messing with it yesterday, and he doesn't seem to have a universal OTG setup that works for all situations at the moment.
-
Aside from the fact that we aren't blocking, there isn't really a cue. Also, and I believe this extends to all the cast, being hit otg let's you tech immediately. Sol's take great advantage of that with otg 2K>Gunflame. I believe we can do the same with otg 2K>Task A.
