I thought we already covered that glitch? Here's hoping it's fixed in CS. It's annoying. Except for when Nirvana lumbers across the entire stage to you/whoever after a match has finished. Corpse pushing too good.

Any names that you don't already have listed, go ahead and add. That's pretty much it. Thanks, Kyle! And thanks Mika for letting me volunteer you!

HOW DARE YOU DO THAT TO ME, KYLE?!? AFTER ALL WE'VE BEEN THROUGH! AL;JFDL;J;LKEJL; <3 -
:D :D :D Kk GGs. Solo Carl for lyfe, son! Oh, if it's Carl going after you and Nirvana is dead/they don't feel like using her (pretty much only I go solo Carl for fun), don't burst ever. Carl does shit for damage. I mean like... 1.4k on his BnB, and 2.5k on big CH combos. So yeaaaaaah. Also, don't burst until you KNOW you're in the clap loop. You did too many anticipatory bursts, esp for how many combos I dropped. EDIT: My favourite Ragna bthrow combo is: back throw, dash, 6a, jc(or is it SJC?) j.c,j,d, JC j.c, j.d, 623D, kick followup Does good damage, is really easy to do, and ends in kd. Nice.

No joke, I was liek =( The first time Then D: the second Then D:< the third I can't use start, and red+white is the only good colour combo you can get using face buttons. I raged a little inside. Lmfao, I wonder why it gave you mine and me yours. I was waaaaaaaaaaaay confused. Umm... some tips for ground loop: 1) 6d has more hitstun than you think it does. The way I think of timing it is halfway through whatever ground move is ending my string, I start 6d up. Wait before you start the ground combo up again. Also, the rhythm for the 2nd most damaging ground loop (j.c, 5b, 5c, 6d)*n is similar to the faster "Fah who for-aze!/dah dores" parts from "Welcome Christmas" Not even joking. Learn the timing for that one, and all the others become REALLY easy. Just have Nirvana attack earlier, and continue the combo with Carl a little later. 2) An input trick I use is right after I press 5c, I move the stick forward and release D. If you've ever worked with a guitar, it's kinda like doing a hammer on/pull off. Also, learn this combo: Nirvana-Carl-Opp ...5a,5b,6b,6d+vivace, 2a>ground/throw loops. Prorates like hell, but it sandwiches them, drops pretty quickly, leads into loops/crazy resets. It wasn't boring, I was worried about you getting frustrated/annoyed though. Also, after playing Nu vs Carl for the first time, all I can say is wow... It's really hard to pin the little brat down. Eh, depends on your connection, and how you're willing to play. It's a GREAT tool for seeing new tricks and teaching beginners. For gauging skill, tho, it's no good. I still go for all the super-technical stuff and don't change my timing to compensate for lag, so I drop a fair deal of combos, but it doesn't really effect my non-online play. It's also great for learning to play calm. If you can cool yourself down after eating 4k from a Ragna overhead that you KNOW you blocked, then you're pretty much set. Bonus points for remaining calm after you bait a Rachel into doing something stupid, only to not block and eat 6k damage+corner lockdown.

I keep forgetting to practice that! Gimme a week and I will. I fight kunes that divespam, so it'll definitely have a purpose.

Hrm... I think that you could merge the directory and study group. That way, if anyone that doesn't play Carl wants to learn how to fight him, they can just go there, post their info, and maybe steal a few Carl player's info to message them. Keep mika the head of the thread, though, since I'm going through some seriously rough shit and dunno how often I'll want to update/maintain it. Online play thread is kinda just another version of general discussion, where we talk about playing as Carl online as opposed to Carl. Kinda useless, but not, since it's not as BIG as our general thread. Up to you, boss. -
Man, fuck ANYONE that hates on Hazama.

GGs, prophet. I wrote up a 30 minute critique, and then DL ate it. Sooooooo I wrote a 10 minute one, aaand DL did it again. I'm not too happy, and shit's happening at home, so I'll just give you basic pointers. I might go more in-depth later. 1) Learn your combos/loops/the infinite 2) Learn when to tech the throw loop, and when not to. I dunno if the summon trick works or not, since I dun get to fight Carl much. 3) Dun take my colour. D:< 4) Be more patient. You rush in blindly waaaaaay too much. 5) Don't panic. You throw out random moves, and have a nasty habit of wasting your meter if you're almost dead. Noooooo good, esp with all the things Carl can do when he has meter. Gear super is good, but it's not a good desperation super. 6) Watch Nirvana's health. I noticed that if I fought her instead of you, the matches became a little too easy. Don't throw her out in the cold. Get her back, she's got yours. 7) Block a LOT more, and learn when to block what with what. Particularly, remember to barrier things like SRKs, 6as, etc. This was a really big problem when you fought my Ragna, since I was able to just throw out uppers all day without you blocking them>me dying. 8) Don't let the taste of blood get you crazy. Back off when you find yourself relying on the opponent guessing wrong in order for you to continue a combo/pressure string. If it's not safe, it's not safe, no matter how much life you have. Matches can turn around crazy fast with Carl. Make sure they go in your favour. GGs, though! Get those combos down, first, then I can really start to nitpick your Carl. Also, learn to work with and without Nirvana. If your robot is dead, go into full-fledged Storm mode. Run away ALL day, lock them in the corner with super, and randomly use allegretto to stall in the air. Make them a little afraid by snagging them with a karacan iad>gear super, but don't follow it up. You're just burning time until Nirvana comes back. No need to get super aggro, esp considering that even my solo Carl combos rarely break 2.5k. I love playing Solo Carl soooooo much, though. Just got done stomping Ragna's yard without my sister's help. Is fun.

I thought fermata already did 3k damage? Or is it FIXED at 3k? Cuz that would make me waaaaaaaaaaay too happy about Carl. As is, I'm not depressed and considering dropping BB altogether after this new info. I'm so fucking stoked, now. Like... A BEAM?!? REALLY?!? You have no idea how happy I am with a beam projectile. Fuck Jin and Rachel trying to zone us out. Bitches are gonna pay. Tager vs Carl is gonna be a fucked up match for both sides. Robot+Little Boy vs Cyborg for ultimate win. I'm really looking forward to how much BS both sides can pull off. Only 5 frames of untech time, though? That's gonna be a pain to deal with. Guess imma stick with ground loops. I'm betting 4d gets a change now, too. Carl's exciting again. Man, his j.b was already good. Better hitbox+wallbounce on CH? I almost picked up Baiken just for wallbounce shenanigans, once upon a time. Now my main has it? Pleaaaaaaaaase let this stay in. Overheads are nerfed, but with the srk putting us at frame advantage, I have a feeling it's going to be a lot harder to get outta Carl lockdown without Nirvana dying off. I always neutral tech as Carl. No reason not to. Neutral tech, buffer vivace against people that aren't expecting it, and imbue it with throw invul after regular invul wears off. Say goodbye to Ragna/Litchi/Stupid player lockdown games. I'll eat combos vs players that don't expect it just to do this. But wait... we can cancel techrolls with specials in BB? Sooooooo... Can I cancel techroll into vivb+fueco/teleport for the ultimate get-away? I really love BB, guize. Bolded for emphasis. I've been going solo Carl against a lot of characters lately, only bothering to summon Nirvana when I ABSOLUTELY need her help/have the infinite ready. It's dumb, but it's what we have to do to win.

I still need to find a good wiring guide. Zoogs linked me to a great thread, but I'm soooooo lazy. -
Who's a good Ragna to fight?
-
Wow Round 2's ending was beautiful. Imma steal that trick.
-
Yeaaaah About your j.c It's not that great in this fight. 6a beats it clean everytime, for some bizarre reason. Sol/Axis, we should play again when I renew my XBL! I want sumdat Ragna exp.
-
DL is pretty chill. Or, at least, the subforums for my characters are. Zappa+Carl players are too cool. Rachel players are kinda mean, though. =( I feel ya on Carl dittos feeling like Chess. Actually, a lot of his matches feel that way. I wish he'd gone with either a full-blown chess theme, or music. Ohwell. Anyway, I need to renew my XBL before we can play, so you might wanna hit up people that suck with Carl (Zoogs, Kyle, etc) to get the basics before you fight my magnificent Carl. Joking aside, I really want to play Zoogs+Kyle again. As soon as he finishes with that stick and I get XBL, I say we have a room for Carl dittos. :D
-
I dun want him to be low tier. A tier is fine with me, but I WANT TO KICK IT IN S TIER WITH EDDIE! =( =( =( ALSO Zeero, where have you been? We've missed you!
-
I'm on, if you're ready.
-
Prophet, we can play when I get home tonight. Prolly wont be for long, but still, I luuuuuuuurrve Carl dittos.

Oki is non-existent in BB, that's why you don't know. lololol Nah, it's okizeme. Pretty much when you knock someone down, you're in an oki situation. If you're the one being knocked down, you're in a wake-up situation. -
Don't forget, though, kids 6a leads to super wind combo leads to super and super fucking hurts 5k damage for very little/no wind, and then you're set into a REALLY nasty oki situation When she has meter, be careful. Pretty much, make her waste meter on CA defensive escapes, and make her waste wind on her offense. The match is all about making her burn her meters. If she plays super conservative zoning, then you're more likely to have trouble, I think.
-
Yeah. I started listening to The Beatles and doing deep breathing during/in between matches. No joke, it helps a lot. ALSO For allecan, I found the easiest way to reliably do it is to do a sort of tk motion Like j.2c xx 2147c, 1c is how I do the basic set-up.
-
No She can do okay damage and set up GOOD oki with one stock of wind. Except her oki requires even more wind to be dangerous. Which goes back to: lrn2block Force her to burn all but one stock, and then fuck that hoe up.
-
Umm... If she starts the combo with 5b, you just suck at blocking. It should be doing less than 3.2k after proration. I started playing her lately, too, and I know about her damage output. Compared to Carl's basic combo j2c allecan>5b, 5c, 6d, jc, 5b, 5c, anklesnare, 8d, 2c, 8d, 2c, 8d Which does like... 4.5 k, can be ended early to do the super for 6k damage, aaaaaaaand resets the situation, all for less than 1/4 Nirvana meter? Yeah... This. Learn to block, and DO NOT LET HER GET FULLSCREEN! The hardest part in this match-up is sandwiching her. Learn to IB to gain meter, CA to get her off you, and do some j2c teleport shenanigans to get her sandwiched ASAP. Once you've got her locked down, DON'T LET GO! You can set up retarded unblocks once you have meter, too. Beating Rachel, IMO is VERY dependent on whether you can get in and sandwich her. Course, I make this sound like it's easy. There are so many variables when fighting her, ESPECIALLY when she has wind stocked up. It's a hard match-up, but it's not even dependent on them messing up. You just have no room to screw up, since she can fullscreen punish you, HARD. EDIT: Oh, don't ever get sent to the corner by her. If she gets you there, it seriously is GGs.
