  8. Alright thanks a lot man. I forgot about my bad habit of using 236D in blockstrings too much always gets me hurt against mamation. XD thanks for the comments yesterday I did a wall combo with 2B2D214B otg C+D by accident and I was like wow that seems decent lol...

  11. piccolo is trash without wallsmash piccolo with wallsmash = good stuff cause it makes his jH go from total ass to godly wallsmash makes a lot of his other moves better too like beam cannon and special beam cannon (I think). his damage is totally retarded

I think ideally you want to know how to fight against a given character well so you go into the match with a plan, then you should be able to somewhat auto-pilot the anti-character stuff while trying to read your opponent's moves and adapt accordingly. Sadly most American players (myself included) just don't have good anti-character skills against most of the cast.

You are vulnerable to DP type attacks but otherwise gives tremendous reward and cannot be reacted to. Also I like to sometimes use 236236C super as a block punisher because it will hit on counterhit and take 2 stars. You can punish many unsafe things with it because it is very very fast. Please give me some comments. XD been looking at the faq and trying some of the combos Tian...got a question if you think this combo is better C2b – CG Combo (With Boost) 63214A>C+D>A+C+E>JA>JB>623B 63214A>C+D>E>2A>2C>214C/236236C ^ Center, doesn’t work on Raoh, Jagi and Mamiya That's what you posted...why no combos with E > c5D (2 hits) 214C E A+C jBD 623B? You've got that combo but it always ends in the super. You'll usually cross them up after the 214C (unless they are near corner) but you can still just press E A+C and go into jBD for 1 boost, 3 star combo that does more than the first combo you posted and also works on raoh, jagi, and mamiya. I think this combo is better if you don't have aura gauge (admittedly normally you have aura to spare though).
  14. ah lol I know what you mean now...it's Force Break Rin 236S-D (the D part) you can hit him out of that with low moves if you react fast enough (or guess right). it's overhead and advantage on block. the autoguard on it actually isn't as good as the normal version (which is otherwise worse in every aspect). usually you can hit him out with fast non-low attacks as well but that carries a risk that you won't have to worry about if you just do lows. as another random tidbit aba is one of the 5 characters that anji cannot otg launch with FB Rin after hitting with his low moves on normal hit (good for you)
  15. Yeah it really should be easier. According to your matchup thing ABA has advantage now right? that's a huge change personally as far as red butterfly is concerned...I only go for it from strong setups...which generally you can't backdash anyway (my most common setup is against the corner so backdash really doesn't help you there at all). EX slide should escape it (see my question about it below) and EX Danzai would definetnly super armor though his run in stuff (though he could bait it but it's still an option for you). not really matchup related but I recently messed with aba a bit to see her new stuff and couldn't figure out how to hit her out of EX slide, it even seems to be throw invincible. is it just totally invulnerable? what's the swishyslamthing? XD is it that force break from autoguard? last time i played you in that team tournament I got the first round by killing you with it before you beat me down. It costs tension of course but gives a knockdown which is what aba doesn't like. If you have a burst you can try to burst out of it and a lot of times he'll go up the screen anyway and you can punish him as he lands (it happens but not sure how much). On the other hand his other autoguard followup specials...P no longer gives knockdown like in Slash...and the new K one causes a techable wallstick (though he can combo you into KD if he's not too far away).
  16. air orb move doesn't knock down in air combos (unless the air combo is really low for some reason) but it does still knockdown if used as an overhead. I don't agree with everything Klaige says in that post personally. It's not true that "Anji requires tension, you MUST have 25% to get any kind of a solid combo into knockdown now" as he says. He can still get about 1/3 life combo or so into On for no tension if he hits a standing move not too far from the wall. The other things is that most of the time he's gonna have 25% meter for combo purposes anyway except right as a round starts of course. His defense isn't as bad as he makes it sound either. His autoguards are still highly useable and his 236H goes through a lot of stuff. And force break butterfly is very good and not easy to escape for many characters if set up well, many have to rely on dead angle or invincible overdrives to escape (not sure what ABA can do here). it's very true that he'll be getting a lot less knockdowns in AC though, which is good for ABA
  17. hmmm sadly no...but I didn't try it on Souther so I don't know for sure about him. It doesn't work on Raoh. far C (1 of the hits anyway) isn't able to be crouched by raoh but that's not the same thing. 623B only hits mr heart crouching. It's cool cause from starting position or so against mr heart you can do 2B2B 623B falling jB dash 5A 236C 5A 236C 214C Does a little over 1/3 health and takes away one star for zero boost cost. that combo works on pretty much everyone but only if they are standing...except mr heart =] vs Raoh I noticed that you can sometimes beat his cancels into 41236D with 623B (probably can with a super move as well). I didn't test it but it happened a few times in some recent casual sessions and might be worth a try, seems like a risky move though.

  19. It looks like I never posted this but I've known about it for a while. I don't think it's in Tian's guide. against wall 2B2D214C > FKO works against all characters except Thouther. mix this up with command grab against the wall for a FKO mixup that costs you no meter. the FKO should look like an otg hit

Hey I found this last time I played mr mamation's rei and it seems pretty nice to know! if he uses that shield move in the air (air 214C) you can hit him out with 236C cause it's so many hits! also against mr heart i probably mentioned this before but far C cannot be crouched under by mr heart, so as long as he doesn't use his reversal he will probably have difficulty dealing with this move

Seriously does anyone else realize that Koichi's list is almost nothing like the first two lists? that has been bugging me for a while now oh well I'll try to put some Anji stuff since no one else will I assume Anji: Pros: + new force break Rin gives good combos from lows against most characters, is much faster than normal Rin and hits overhead + new autoguard special with K has lower body invincibilty and good horizontal range, new D autoguard force break not that useful but has sick priority, buffs post autoguard options + good okizeme pressure, possible unblockables with new Shitsu force break + pretty nice corner pressure + FRC point added to 236S/H-S for safety and possible combos + very good normals in general both on the ground and in the air + excellent spacing ability while airborne partly thanks to his great jD (which now causes untechable wallstick on counterhit) + does better against Eddie than most if that counts for anything Cons: - needs 25% meter minimum to do decent damage most of the time, damage not spectacular by any means - overly reliant on corner imo - air combos don't usually yield knockdown because air 214P was nerfed, he generally has to choose either dmg or knockdown for combos now, can't get both like in slash - autoguarding moves horribly nerfed. no anti crossup 5H...6H was wrecked. 6K is still very usable for autoguarding though - various moves nerfed such as normal Rin (no bounce on normal hit now), autoguard P (less range, damage, no knockdown on normal hit), CH 6K stagger instead of untechable launch, 6S hitbox doesn't hit as close up as before, 5S does not raise guard meter on block at all (wtf), his DAA is HORRIBLE now and almost always trades with attacks when used mid blockstring - generally weak spacing game, trouble getting in against several characters - cannot make you dizzy to save his life (nothing new there) - zero (?) advantageous matchups...some matchups such as Axl are heavily against him. he may have advantage against potemkin though... - he's a lot more character specific than he used to be as far as combos are concerned That being said I think Anji is still a good character despite being ranked very low in most tier lists. He is well rounded for the most part and has good anti-pressure/okizeme with autoguard and 236H. He's just not as strong as most of the other characters because he suffered a lot of downgrades along with his upgrades, while others got nearly no downgrades and a lot of nice upgrades.

  23. Basically yeah...you'll be getting GPed a lot less and Anji generally has to chose knockdown or damage for his combos while in Slash he could get knockdown+damage all over the place. Now to get knockdown you have to give up a pretty nice chunk of damage a lot of times. Johnny is one of the few characters that Anji can't launch with his force break rin after he lands a sweep (under normal conditions) which is VERY annoying. I don't know much about Johnny but I do know that neither of you wants to stay in the corner cause both characters have good pressure there and being on the receiving end is tough. maybe this video 4r5 uploaded will help too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZnuDchNRI8
