[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
SolxBaiken replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
LOLOLOL Trust me, for releases with shorter localization processes, they don't wait till the END of the master to start. Games with releases like CT and CS are planned for international releases pretty much from the get go, I can imagine the schedule for CSE lagging behind for numerous reasons [in-house localization, no doubt requiring new staff, planning huge pricing deficit---CSE was released as a higher end release (around $70~80) while here in the states the charged us a more budgeted price at $39.99---and working out new agreements with Aksys---who appear to still be on good terms with ASW despite having far less involvement with titles.] The reason for CP's big gap can pretty much be attributed to the release window in North America, there are just ALOT of big things to compete with for a small/niche title like BB. Late Q1 (March) or Q2 release just makes the most sense to optimize profits. It's pretty much a safe bet that localization has begun [they need to pull in the English VAs to do the work for the JPN release so that the game can be compatible with netplay] and the fact they've already announced plans for release means that the bureaucratic stuff is behind them. Launch MSRP [in NA] for CT was $59.99 [but came with 1st print "limited editions"], CS was $49.99, CSE was $39.99 [or $59.99 for it's LE]. So CP launching at $49.99 seems like a happy medium to me. -

For not liking bland to terrible art? O.o 1st image: zzz typical smut. 2nd image: aside from overcompensating with the cheesecake, I just can't like this one on principle due to poor anatomy. 3rd image: the "best" of the 3 as it goes for a simpler and "cuter" style, but my reasons for disliking this one are kind of superficial and I'd rather not state in public lol . I've gone on record to say that THIS is probably the only Bullet illustration in history I'll ever like, and so far, that's more or less been true. Just because I really like/love a character doesn't mean I'm going to worship all portrayal of said character. The same applies to Baiken [i hate like 70% of art surrounding her, especially if it's non-Ishi lol]. -

Th only iffy thing right now is "YRCs" since more or less everything else has been finely honed over the years, and I won't miss any of AC's systems outside of FBs, but it's not like GG ever needed them (and I never got FB Yozansen, harumph!) but yeah, I'm sure +R will be more than enough for anyone wanting to hand on to AC, especially since we should just now be receiving it this month on consoles \o/ Also KoF XII was the best beta test ever, the quality of XIII can attest to that :> -

I mean computer generated illustrations in general, wanted some traditional media, which is why I mentioned copic markers -
Get hype for GG, want to play GG, then remembers finding players on AC+ is awful orz

私サイコ!! Also, another nitpick, but I'm kinda sad they're using CG for lead character illustrations... I wanted more of that sexy Ishi goodness ^^; All da copics~ -

OMFG, I can't believe this is happening...it like, REALLY just hit me the moment I woke up and saw all this... And possibly SEVEN characters at the test!? My body, it is NOT ready ; -; Guard BarRISC Level sounds like a good simplification of the system, and 2 direction Dust!? Nice! Wonder what are the benefits of one vs the other, Yellow RCs sound kinda kooky [anyone remember UDON's original pitch for SF4? lol] but we'll see how it works in practice. I wonder how common clashing is for them to make a specific mechanic around it, like how often will 3 in a row occur .o. UGH this wait will now be the death of me orz Hate the nitpick, but they've ALWAYS been called Psych Bursts. Overture has ALWAYS been canon as it was the first game Ishiwatari was fully involved with after #R, it is something closer to his original vision for the series (a 3D RPG) and is why it is called Guilty Gear 2, and he stated he'd like to make more but it seems the opportunity for another fighter came up before another ARPG/RTS hybrid. Also Overture designs were pretty cool. -

That's whacky lol, I wonder if ARC is aware and if they have any plans to fix it if it still persists. Since you said "when CP was first around" and the arcade ver has received minor updates, does this still happen in the current version? -

Or how about *gasp* just having fun with whatever!? Like Tager and Hazama playing chess [because I find big people holding tiny objects amusing and I think it'd be funny to have Hazama with a poker face expression trying to hold back going all Terumi] or have Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Taokaka in a "dog race" [do I have to explain this one?] or have Arakune shaped like Nirvana and somehow Carl hasn't noticed and frolics around nonchalantly while the real Nirvana watches from a distance, shedding a single [oil?] tear. Oh and Linhua, Linhua needs more art, such a good design put to waste, it's a shame really... [having Bang train Linhua as one of his subordinates would be pretty hilarious] -

SFxT has online training mode, and I love it! Yeah sure there's the teaching application but being able to easily practice specific setups/punishes with another person is great. THIS is hands down the best addition, everything else is just a nice bonus. -
; -; I'm trying to get back in to shape for CP~ o/

Lame, AmiAmi just gets Amane .v. Surprised the DX pack comes with an actually cool non-moecchi poster -
Come on man, this is the FIRST trailer, of course there's going to be more! I mean crap, game doesn't even have a date or even explanation of it's system, calm down~ Can't tell if serious, All-Stars and Super Stars were like 2 of the best licensed games for anime ever they weren't built by companies that special in the area. It was like Smash and I'd still kill for getting that style of game to work on consoles (maybe they could make it for PS4 with it's built-in touch pad .o.) Wow, people are still sweating this? That was just Atlus Paranoia, no one followed suit because there really isn't any need (Japan doesn't care if you import their games, more profit for them! It's the other way around that hurts since there's no MSRP in Japan and they can charge prices "fitting" development cost as opposed to standardized pricing in NA, so a Japanese importer could snag domestic releases for far cheaper, especially if it already supports JPN text/audio.

Fearless Night, New Indie Fighting Game
SolxBaiken replied to Hecatom's topic in Misc Fighter Central
SHUT UP Just tell me how much I have to toss at the screen to get Kappa officially playable ; -; But definitely when you guys go for this I'll use the fullest extent of my powers to shove it into everyone's face and ears .o. Now with a 4 character minimal goal, [science forbid] you only hit that mark, will the finished product be released with a small installation fee or as a free title (possibly backed by donations, "hey you enjoyed the game? Why not show appreciation?" this type of system actually works fairly well as people will support what they like)? Also do you have any/enough startup capital to fully complete 1 character (Poco I'd assume) and possibly 1 stage (doesn't have to by anything too fancy) I ask because investors love demonstrations, the more polished your initial pitch is the more likely someone is to get behind it, so I think it's paramount to have at least that much to ensure maximum output from a crowd sourcing campaign. Speaking of incentives, what rewards would you offer backers? Sometimes this is just as important (if not more) in pulling in the randoms and getting the already on board to be...more on board! This is something to keep in mind since the rewards have the potential to come up for more than you initially anticipate. Also you need to think of your preemptive strike, as this is a fighter you have a firm source to tap into as the FGC is alot more tangible than most other genre of games for indies to advertise to, you need to get some sort of article on SRK, IPW, Eventhubs, whatever will have you that the FGC public will see you, it'll be good to make your stance before the actual campaign in order to get people already thinking about your project. I know that there was an SRK article back during PAX East, but obviously some things have changed since then, so you need a modern, more direct message to the masses. Think that's all for now, if you've already got all these angles covered than please ignore me ^^; -

= A= Unless the Imperator comes with Force Lightning and a command grab Force Choke [with invisible hit box] I wouldn't care for another cookie-cutter face, even if it is the "original". -
Official Site I've been waiting for a clear look at this game before getting amped... The battle system is 4-players in teams of 2, possibly using the Gundam Extreme VS series as a basis, however this game is built for the PS3 and Vita.
-
Still, if they were to make it "2.5D" [if the designs were the same] they'd just use the models they already have more than likely.
-
Stills are cool and all but it will be the actual quality of the animation that matters, if it doesn't look like the sequences in CT then zzz, then again I doubt I'll watch this cause CT's been told so many times .v. Pretty sure they'd just upscale and refine the models they already use for BB, also I don't think ARC will be making any sort of traditional transition to 3D any time soon.

Maybe it's like P4U and when used up/charging the word "Burst" isn't there at all. I'm more concerned with possible Guard Bar 2.0, especially if it isn't that.
