  1. New character confirmed: Wii Fit Trainer Girl Man how I wish I was trolling right now . . .
  2. Gakai is just literal streaming, so unlike their current method of placing older titles on the network [reprogramming old assets to work with new architecture] they can pump out numerous and more frequent updates to the virtual library. Also because it's streaming this also means more free space on your HDD since you won't have to download and keep large amount of data! But come on guys, Arc loves their ports! CP+#/R Extend for Vita and PS4 in 2014
  3. It looked completely identical to Brawl... Not sure why thy needed Bamco for this one but I think I spotted new attacks, so maybe a control scheme re-work? And perhaps they found a way to incorporate Final Smashes into the natural fabric of the game?
  4. Wow, yo guys are just too hard to please lol a localization existing is enough for me! We already know how BB plays, it's now just a matter of how the story mode will be presented [which regardless is still just a typical visual novel, so we know how those work]. And then you have to consider that very little console stuff has been shown in Japan, I doubt they'd debut new content here in the states (but hey, E3 is only just beginning) but I doubt the booth is nothing more than VS play. If anything I'm just disappointed by no date, lol [and possible special edition, would like to know these 2 things to see if I have to waste all that money on the import = w= ] Uhh, what? The only reports I've read regarding PS+ and online concern the PS4, not the PS3 or Vita (which would be especially weird since the networking structures of handhelds is worlds different from consoles) Regardless since PS+ carries over and is already a wonderful value, it wouldn't be a huge killer to have it, just an odd choice to retroactively establish it. Also region free PS4 is region free :D
  5. All tie-in licensed games, which are inherently awful by nature due to the insane time constraints of pushing something out there to cross promote the movie.
  6. Prepare to rage in 3 (this is a launch title), 2 (digital only), 1 (free-to-play model), 0 (Jago is the ONLY universally available character, with the remainder of the cast locked behind pay walls - no pricing yet)! f2p is such a crap model for fighters, but with the success of MOBA games I fear them becoming the norm over the exception [at which point only DoA5U is doing it "right" by making f2p an option, and as such, more of a glorified demo] It took 6 pages but now the dev rants are coming. There's a reason why I specifically listed SH: Homecoming and FM: Evolved as their credits when mentioning Double Helix, as they seem to have a [bad] habit of twisting pre-established IPs and turning them on their heads, I didn't hate Homecoming and Evolved because they were "bad games" (at which they were completely "ok" titles) but because they were bad Silent Hill and Front Mission games (turning both a horror and strategy title into generic, Western action games to appeal to the average modern consumer) That being said, I think this game has good chance at being good/fun since Rare is still overseeing development and they have a great hypeman and understander of fighters in FilthieRich working with them. That is until you read the 1st part of this post (f2p)
  7. I don't know how vital Sony sees the game to their future success, but if it doesn't get a mention I'm sure people will report on it once E3 [officially] starts tomorrow.
  8. Early details (game releasing tomorrow) from Sp00ky Bound (!) properties removed Some moves have frames of invincibility (!) and largely punishable on block No local vs (?) in the E3 build New animations for some attacks and movements You accumulate coins, used to purchase characters in costumes, through playing [or you can buy - - them, no price listed]
  9. Early Gameplay Details Early Killer Instinct info: Jago and Sabrewolf in current build. Auto doubles and manual doubles are both in for combo extensions. Manual doubles are Character specific, also specials to extend ultras and a new character specific mode (think xfactor but less broken) that gives each character new properties. Combo breakers are balanced in a new way manual doubles are harder to break and a failed breaker locks you out for a short a period of time. More info soon
  10. But you're not talking about the announcement at all... You're free to hate, but this isn't the place, we're here to talk about games, THIS [Killer Instinct] game! Like I'm not fond of all of the X1's policies but [specifically as a fighting game player] I'm digging built-in streaming, recording, editing, and uploading. I'm hoping PS4's abilities are just as comparable, although I'm concerned about PS4 using Ustream as opposed to X1's Twitch ; w; Also in total there's a cast of 15 characters, wonder what the odds are to see the entire roster on disc. And wonder what this means for new combatants [which is interesting a new character, if any, didn't debut alongside the vets thus far].
  11. Heca...I'm a hardcore Sony fangirl and not even I hate the X1 as hard or blindly as this lol If you're just going to cry about the platform of choice, please move along~ They're probably pulling for a broader and general audience, so putting it behind an M rating [on a statistical scale] automatically cuts a big chunk of potential user base [kids with ADD ]
  12. Jago combo vid and former Community Manager for Bamco, FilthieRich, is working with Double Helix. So there's some hope for this title. I didn't see any confirmation of date
  13. Yeah, cause Rare was such a fighter power house when they made the original
  14. Ok they showed off more of the game, looks fast but speed =/= quality but looks ok so far. More importantly they showed off that like PS4, X1 can save and share footage from the console (we don't know the full capabilities of PS4 editor but the X1 actually looks legit, can even record commentary) and the X1 has Twitch built in so you can stream gameplay instantly, so that's a plus.
  15. lol Ok yeah so [obviously] X1 exclusive, uhh, not much shown, Glacius, Sabrewulf, Jago shown. 3D graphics on a 2D plane. ULTRA COMBOS! Oh...developed by Double Helix [silent Hill: Homecoming, Front Mission: Evolved] lol
  16. The guest characters [Rimi and Christina] are console only. However the arcade ver should be getting at least 1 new character [eventually]. They'll probably bring back the guests for PBX [although since Mages is working very closely with the game, not sure why they were removed at all]
  17. free to play =/= "free" The ENTIRE point of any f2p game is to make a resource light title with a high content value but locking said content behind arbitrary time sink barriers with hopes of enticing the player to spend real money through shortcuts [which "casual" users will be all too eager to jump on]. This can be achieved by having "freemium" content that gives players willing to [literally] invest into the title a clear advantage, limiting the play time or options of the player but opening them up [slightly] should they plop down the cash, or the worst offender of all being a huge grind fest that makes the Disgaea games look like leisurely jogs. They already had the test; Tekken Card Tournament. Which recently hit 3million users, if 3million will sink time [and I bet no small amount of coin] into a [quite honestly bad] card game, surely the same will happen in a more "advance" genre. The sales for Tag 2 are irrelevant now, it's passed its full MSRP tag, so they'd only get drops in the well [nice but hardly worth making a huge campaign of things]. And if they want to hype of TxSF then they should...oh I dunno...WORK ON THE DAMN GAME! Although if the PR Release was right about supers being added into this game [why?] I could see this being a testing ground for TxSF ideas. That being said, I will try the game out but just from the growth stats alone I know it can't end well...but I'll see how they're handling the f2p model [which was awful in Card Tournament, so I'm not too optimistic. Honestly I think Teccoei is doing it right, or at least more correctly, with DoA5U. Making f2p an option, not the only choice, and also making it little more than a glorified demo.]. Now if you'll excuse me, back to Tag 2.
  18. Fixed for accuracy. Although I'm not sure why you would question it, in-game Tao's legs have been shown to be all human and in her concept designs I believe they have shown that she keeps her bloomers up with suspenders right? The thing that people are ignoring is her arms... They're covered up which is just down right weird in a bath, do Kakas retain cat like arms? Kind hate how they're shoehorning everything into everything with hopes of making it work just to give X project reason to exist in the grand scheme of things.
  19. It could still be a flashback, maybe Noel met Kagura shortly after riding off with Sector 7 into the sunset at the end of CS [which she still had her NOL uniform on]. Afterall we have seen that Kokonoe is talking with Kagura and crew, so in her usual "plan for plans" nature she could've already been working with Kagura during the actual events of CP [afterall she had Makoto in her pocket]. After meeting with Kagura and Kokonoe they could've been the ones to suggest that Noel ditch her NOL digs in order to help her keep a lower profile. Jin [in the most weaksauce reasoning] just "doesn't care" which is why he's still running around in NOL clothing, despite drawing more attention to yourself and disrupting your search for bromance.
  20. Gotta get those down, Tag combos and Tag Assaults are life! Back in the day I had this pretty nice 135dmg Tag combo with Jun/Kunimitsu, and it ended so beautifully ; -; Better not catch me at my MAXIMUM LEVEL! (`ー´)
  21. I wouldn't call it owning D: I was fighting like a scrub so hard, I was like "how do I link these attacks!?!?" and my Anna, Zafina, and Lili are SUPER trash now D; But I guess if you want to play more I'll brush back up [believe it or not I used to be decent at Tekken!]
  22. Yes in CP's arcade stories, they practically can't shut up about Kagura lol
  23. Always a welcomed feature! DO. NOT. WANT! If they ever go back to a tag format, I'd want it simple but effective like X - Advance Edition There's nothing wrong with Isuka [outside of A.B.A lol] people just weren't ready for it ; -; Changing the format would turn it into something else, something I might not want to play... [Dust Strikers]. Also turning wasn't that hard to get used to and has its tactical advantages, like Dark Side hits and Back Attacks. If I am ever lucky enough to see Isuka 2 in my life time I'd like it as intact as possible [not say there aren't things I wouldn't like added to it]
  24. I can [kinda] see where you guys are coming from, but you have to realize, we just don't know jack about BB's world. Everything has been really focused and simply painted. Both CT and CS were COMPLETELY self contained within Kagutsuchi, so there's no way we could've learned about Kagura or his rebellion, also BB's story isn't spread out all that far, CT > CS happens over what? Like a week? And CP isn't that much further ahead. Also we lost ALL of our connections to the NOL with Jin and Noel going AWOL, Tsubaki immediately [like almost TOO fast] being sent after them, and Makoto [honestly a bigger "ass pull" to me] playing double agent. I don't think any of the new characters are "ass pulls" [then again, once you've experience that master of ass pullery that is Tetsuya Nomura with Kingdom Hearts, not too many things faze you anymore :V]. Also you guys act as if his console announcement is the first we've heard of Kagura, he's brought up NUMEROUS times throughout the arcade stories. Also I'm glad that there's such a unique perspective from the NOL being shown, I hope that there's more! F this blah blah Amaterasu, blah blah Trollzama, blah blah Murakumo. Give me more about the NOL and the 012, show me more of the world, the people, the politics. I doubt I'll ever have my wish fully realized [because BB, even with extended media, is kind of bad at world building] but hey, baby steps.
